  1. $175 to just stand on the edge???? No way would I do that. I am scared to death of heights, yet I always push the linits. Heck I have looked down 12000 foot shear cliffs with no safety rope when I lived out west. I would't even pay that price to rappel off the tower, although it would be fun
  2. Thanks for sharing Ryan. Your pictures are awsome. How can you not smile and giggle when looking at them. I always look forward to seeing your posts.
  3. In that case can I see your boat sometime in October? Maybe we'll bring the guns????? I've never heard of that happening before, insane. I have sold two boats and both of them I have sold to members here on the board. Sadly neither time we had time to go fishing.
  4. Broken tip.. cut it clean and put a new tip on for less than the postage ! My thoughts as well. If the rod is that old and the tip just broke, pretty much garunteed it's not a manufacture defect. I did this to a Crucial and I cannot notice a difference.
  5. I've got three people very close to me who wear the "Vader Mask" They won't say "wash my winky" though??? (new Arthor movie line). They swear by them. Took them a bit to get used to using it. They have noticed less headaches and fatigue by using them. I toss and turn too much to be able to use one? I figure I would die of suffication like a boa constrictor if I tried.... A rumour I have heard, but cannot confirm. If you are prescribed the kit, you must ALWAYS use it. It records when you do and such. If you get in an accident and have been found guilty of not using your kit you could be charged?
  6. Thank you very much!!! I will try a little later.
  7. GoPro's sure are fun. I've got one myself. I also sell them. IAlthough you have almost more inventory on you than I do here in the store..... Great editing. I'm still trying to figure out what program to use to get to veiw it on my computer, real player isn't that great, and adobe isn't doing anything for me????
  8. Rats, sadly I work those two days, plus it's a little far. Hope you're able to get the spot filled?
  9. When and where???? I might be able to be convinced?
  10. I've had Explorenet myself. It was free with the house I was renting. I still wanted to cancel it. Cliff's words are very kind as I know what he is experiencing. All sorts of excuses for it being down. It's cloudy, it's rainy, it's windy, and oh it's sunny and clear?????
  11. That sounds really expensive. That being said, that is what I paid to have one instaled on my Honda back in '05. It needed a special hitch that only Honda made at the time that ran up to the middle of the truck? For you van it should be really easy, straight forward hitch? Now if they are putting in a tranny cooler and running fresh wire from the front I can see that kind of cost. Although for that kind of money I would go elsewhere and have people who specialize in hitches (or even vehicle repair for that matter)(yes I have a beef with CTC repairs).
  12. Bump to the top. I seriously wish this were Sunday. Really close for me. but, I have to work tomorrow other wise I'd be there in a heartbeat. Hopefully someone takes you up on this. To fish with new people in a new area is always a great thing!
  13. A lot of the price is the cost of getting it approved in Canada. Canada is a smaller population than the states, thus the cost per person is more (easiest way to describe it). A lot of companies do not approve their product because of this cost. My rescue vest is a great example. It is not approved for Canada, yet I trust my life to it. To be legal I have with me a "boy-o-Boy" I hope this works vest..
  14. Just talked to my mail delivery person. She said there should be no problem sending it Canada Post. Might just take a few days longer. Especially now that they have been told that they are going to be locked out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She has not heard of a complete hault yet, so I am risking it. As for going to the hub. Wish I could. I work longer hours than they are open so getting there is a problem, hence the need for pickup. Plus they are on the other end of town. For now though I am glad to be able to just cross the street.
  15. With the loom of Canada Post Strike over our heads, I am choosing not to send through them like I usually do so my parcel doesn't sit somewhere. I don't ship much and when I do I use Canada Post. It's easy, it's inexpensive and I have never had a problem with it. I am now trying o send a 20 lbs box to Quebec. I've done the online quote with the big companies (four of them). By using Canada Post my parcel would be around $15.00. UPS is $40.00, Puro $35.00, FedEx and Canpar are both $19.00. Try Fed Ex first, 10 minutes on the phone as I do not have an account. They then give me an account number and tell me I have to go online to do a pickup. I'm already talking to you, lets get this done? Nope online only, plus a $6.00 a week surcharge fee. Pass. Try Canpar. On the phone for another 10 minutes with them, once I figure a way to talk to a human without having an account number. Online only is the responce I get from them. So I go and start an account online. My computer is slow as molasis, so I am getting frustrated quickly. Get my info entered. Next page says an agent will call me in 48 hours. what the hell, I just talked to them on the phone. I cannot get an account without talking to them, but I have to do it online. I'm not even going to try with the other two, as they are too expensive. I cannot wait till I can trust that I can waddle across the street, put stamps on my box and have it delivered. GRRR, talk about frustrated.
  16. My personal life, no. My business, YES it will be effected. Not all suppliers are onto electronic billing. Nor do they all accept through internet banking, etc. A lot of my business is by postal service. This now means I have to use a courier to send cheques. Just when I thought I was starting to cut down expenses, another one pops up. Thanks Canada Post
  17. I'm honestly not surprised by this. Warrenty is the manufactures decission, not the retailer. By doing this it will help keep the cost of the rods from sky rocketing in price even more because of the abuse. ultimately everyone who buys shimano pays for that free one. Most companies do it this way, or you can take it to where you purchased it to your retailer and they will send it for you (not sure on the Shimano). Oakley is another example of putting an end to their lifetime warrenty about 9 years ago. I'm bored of the style, ooops I sat on my glasses, warrenty.
  18. Just call Shimano in Peterborough. they will set you up and you send it to them. If it is covered they will send a new one to you. I had a Crucial I did this with after I tried to take it to Canadian Tire in Kingston with my receipt and they refused to do it. Wasted a two hour trip for that.
  19. I use Tom Tom and have had no issues with it at all. Mine is a lower unit than the 540. As for the "tracking" that they have been all over the news for, don't let that bother you. I do not know of anyone that has been contacted because of it. I know a lot of people that have Tom Tom and speed, non of them have had problems. To be honest I would imagine all of the companies do it, just Tom Tom was called out on it? If you think it is a good deal then get it. Everyone is going to have different opinions on what is better. Kind of like the good ol tiller/console debate.
  20. I think a Thompson is what one of the guys at hunt camp got this year. Not sure exactly what he uses in it. Although it does go BOOOOOM pretty loud and obviously leaves you in a cloud. One thing we did make him aware of, you can miss a deer just as easy, but the hole in the tree is freakin huge! He did also mention that it kicked like a mule. I'm sure he would have used a big load though, as he is a go big or go home kind of guy.
  21. A friend of mine flying to Victoria about a month ago was in a plane that was struck by lightning. She said it was a huge bang, very loud. No turbulance or anything. She said other than the BANG you'd never know. When they got off the plane they look and the front of it was all black where it had hit.
  22. First tip, take me with you! Er I mean yeah. The lakers are all over the place there. You'll hear people rolling 50-100 feet, then the next will be flat lining. I have no experience in them so I couldn't tell you. I haven't heard of pike being in there, but I would not be surprised. It's just not an area where people go to pike fish? Husky jerks work well in this area. There are a lot of high shoals, especially on the north end of the lake. Lot's of bays to be hunting for pike that is for sure. If you have a graph that takes an SD card I have a hotmaps you are welcome to borrow if you come into Brockville.
  23. Looks like you had a great day on the water. When the pike are on like that it sure is fun. I love pike fishing. Gonna beat the shoreline tomorrow hopefully? Must say, you are pretty brave soles to be out there, the seas look mighty rough
  24. Let's mess with them and put a couple hundred of them in a Nascar!!!!
  25. When I got my e-tec a few years ago there was no mention of needing a 10 or 20 hr service. Just the 300 hrs service. Although I did take it in around 150 because I thought I used it more than I had.
