  1. News said there was one that went through around Hawkstone and another up around Strawberry Is.
  2. I think they should be allwed to strike....all summer long. If they can't get along on the salary they make now, maybe they should try minimum wage for a while.
  3. Ditto, for myself the backs not high enough, I got one XLarge foam padded seat.
  4. After one year, I'm on my second set of batteries. Nice little GPS, works well.
  5. The further down the hole you place the transducer, the better result you get. Look at the picture in the link. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...ost&id=9129
  6. It was a 1994 Chev 4x4 ext cab, 6.5 Diesel, 5 spd. Also forgot to mention in my rant, 2 lift pumps located under the driver side frame, along with complete fuel lines from tank to lift pump to injector pump and return. Add complete new brake lines, fortunately they exploded in my driveway and not on the road. This truck was never abused, got undercoated every year. I don't mind paying for wear and tear items like brakes, tires, batteries, wipers, lights, etc, but this thing was just a complete crap.
  7. You would like to know, okay, 4 Stanadyne injector pumps with PMD, they're about $2400 each, new clutch at 72K km after ne going in repeatedly complaining about a driveline shudder, $$2000, cause by then it needed the whole flywheel and pressure plate etc, replaced, 4 sets of front axle seals, rear tx case output seal, rear pinion seal, 2 new oil cooler lines, oil cooler plus 2 sets of the cheap unions they use to attach them, upper heater hose, would you like me to continue? Then to top it off, I had to go for another injector pump, this is now #5, I finally got wise and went to an independant diesel shop, no pump needed, just the PMD to the tune of another $700(little black box about the size of a pack of smokes.) I find out afterwards, GM had extended the warranty on that particular item to 11 years, 192,000km(120k miles) but would not come clean or even go part way. That was the sh#*# dealer in Barrie on Bayfield. I had to show them where the warranty was extended. Now you wonder why I will NEVER buy another piece of GM junk. Oh, not to forget, the truck had just rolled over 159,000 when I traded it in...on a Cummins. How many times have I been back to this dealer, a bit of routine brake maintenance, otherwise I'd forget where they were located. If GM croaked it would probably do the automotive business a favour. Maybe you would like me to continue with the aggravation my brother went through with a 2007 Corvette, 17 times in the garage in 11 months, had to get dollied out of his garage at home 3 times. He too learned, now he drives an AUDI.
  8. Well you keep working at that GM dealership, unlikely you'll ever see me, after the last fiasco of $18000+, yes eighteen thousand over 10 years of repairs, if GM was the only company left making trucks, I'd push a wrong wordrickshaw around.
  9. I near had a coffee geyser on the keyboard, sounds pretty close to German, that's why I had to ask, something I haven't heard in about 25 years.
  10. One thing with a manual auger, never, never bang the blades on the ice, never try to open old holes. Jiffy Augers are excellent, mine is 18 years old, still works like new.
  11. I thought her name was MELANIE...and can I help you add money to your account.
  12. "an clotesac"...hmmm that sounds vaguely familiar, something to do with family jewels maybe?
  13. Careful, or I'll put a hex on ya, something dastardly for downhill skiing, like ripping the crotch outa your pants and having flailing goulies smacking a few snow stumps between your skis.
  14. How about here yesterday: http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28274
  15. When you open the file where your photos are stored, such as Fuji Finepix or Kodak, etc, right click on the picture, and find resize, then click on small, then go to browse and use that photo.
  16. I think at your age group you should stick to skis that have a steering device and brakes attached........snowmobile.
  17. I really wonder why everything that everyone buys or sells is always absolutely MINT, I swear half the poulation out there hasn't got a freakin clue what MINT is, if it's 2 + years old with 50K km it can't be mint, it's USED, Pre Owned, MINT is when it rolls off the assembly line. A couple of months ago Ford was selling brand new pick ups in Barrie for 13K. It's a GM and a half truck to boot. Shop around some more. Sell your car privately.
  18. No difficulty at all, the top has 2 "L" brackets bolted together that hang on the box, from there you can add as many pieces of threaded rod as you want, each one here is about 9" long and has a threaded connector at one end. 3' of 1/4" threaded rod, $1.99, 1/4" rod connectors. $0.25 each, couple L brackets, $0.15 each. Everything stores in the box. The third section of rod is laying on the table off to the left, 9" long.
  19. Heres another made from 1/4" threaded rod and a couple of connectors.
  20. Ya, gotta give it to the bumpkins on that one.
  21. Like Cookslav said, if it's damage from age or normal wear and tear, no, if a tree falls on it, yes. Snow and rain falling on the roof don't count.
  22. Gettin married, no problem, it cuts down on living expenses. Now don't be a complete fool and blow it on one of those extravagent weddings and have to take the next 20 years to pay for it.
  23. Sorry for your loss, may you rest with many fond memories.
  24. NO, I have a feeling you are completely unaware, so I won't rant, but, the breakers are only shutting down the hot side. If by some remote chance you run a generator(and they are out there) that run a 60V leg on each side to make the 120V, you are still feeding "1/2 power" back into the system. That also goes for the 240V side. There are quite a number of gennys that use the neutral for power on one side, hard to explain, but they do. I have a Honda and it will show 60V from Hot to Gnd and 60V from Neutral to Gnd, thats why they MUST be run through a transfer switch. If you go without the transfer switch and you injure or kill someone, well nuff said.
  25. NO, Not without a transfer switch. Without that transfer switch you end up feeding power into the grid and if anyone is working on power lines, you can cause a fatality. If it comes to the point of being off line for more than 12 hours, a couple of extension cords to run the main items such as fridge, freezer and a couple lights if needed. If it's in winter, I'll undo the furnace wires from the circuit and hook directly to the genny.
