  1. No, not really, shows the mentality of the people, you can really cause a lot of grief when panic turns the wrong way and people start stampeding..
  2. Give Tromblys Tackle in Orillia or Epps north of Orillia a call.
  3. Basically a deeper depression in the river/creek where the fish hold up. There's a little less current in there to give the fish a place to hold up without spending a lot of energy.
  4. If ya can't catch one and are itchin to try out the smoker, you can always get a couple of small fillets from the store. Some of the Sobeys stores carry whole frozen mackeral, thaw, knock out the guts, and do a simple brine like above, smoke for about 5-6 hours, not rainbow or salmon, but pretty darn good.
  5. I have a '96 Honda 25 with zero problems, very economical, one complete oil change per year with oil and gas filter, unfortunately still running on the second set of plugs.. As for HullyGully, I have a personal knowledge of a club member that has had nothing but grief and complete stupidity from them. How do you expect a deep cycle battery to run your downriggers and f/f without being hooked up to the charging circuit. They blamed him for not asking. Call Sturgeon Point Marina at Wasaga Beach for a price or go to their website.
  6. I use the #1151 Scottys, double crimped with the tag end doubled back and hidden inn the second crimp, no stabbing with fine wire.
  7. You would be surprised how many you can catch with the common dirt worm, one of the guys at work got 5 last saturday morning..earthworm, no roe, no spinners, no little buggers.
  8. That only works if the traffic is moooving at 100km/h which can really get below that on fridays and sundays and really wicked on long weekends.
  9. From the other post: Fillets laid in a glass or stainless pan, sprinkle pickling salt, refridgerate overnight, rinse clean next morning, place on racks, into the smoker for 4-6 hours depending size and outdoor temps. Real smoked fish doesn't is ruined by a spicerack. One more thing, I always find that fresh unfrozen fish is better.
  10. Well, it's an older model, probably about 10 years old or so, but if it works and with a good antenna, you should get $100.
  11. Hard to believe that "they" believe that no damage or disturbance has been done. I'm sure if it was the average Joe Schmuck that perpetrated this, he'd be replanting every weed and blade of grass that was disturbed.
  12. From the tire shop, a 175/80/13 is 24 inches high, a 185/80/13 is 24.7 inches high, so if you needed to use it, your trailer would be .35 inches higher on the one side....Oh my god it's going to tip over.... Oh, and I don't think they make 180's they are 185.
  13. Went to visit my Bro and Mom in Scarboro today, nothing unusual until my brother gave me a letter and said you can deal with this one, I've tried 4 times to engage someone who can speak the Queens English and and put this one to bed forever. Now my Mom is 92 and has been living in an old fogeys home for about 4 years now and doesn't drive. She gave up her licence shortly after she passed her last test at 80 and returned the licence to MTO..about 12 years ago. She just got a letter from MTO stating that her licence has been suspended due to a medical condition and if she wishes to renew will be treated as a Novice driver. I know there is Government RED Tape and extreme waiting periods for paperwork to make it from one desk to the next to cancel her licence..12 years ago, but this one takes the better part of the whole cake. I'd say we are dealing with a bunch of vegetables but, that would be an insult to Peas & Carrots, Corn on the Cob and all the vegetables. I think I'm going to have some fun on the phone tomorrow. MTO
  14. I have mine to the left of the shown bunk, my outboard keel runs on the right of the bunk, shouldn't be any problems.
  15. Top right of the page..see SEARCH..type in "import" there's a lot there.
  16. Well that's a nice eye opening find..
  17. That's a big hmmmm, my Honda 25 longshaft electric is only around 150lb.
  18. NOT. Simply run the riggers off one set of terminals from only one battery, not from the combined batteries together, or run one rigger from each battery while both batteries are still connected in series.
  19. Wonder if him and Gills can get into it here too..
  20. Hasn't happened in 22 years of using 4 strokes, now 2 strokes and finding a quick fix as you're slowly drifting over Niagara Falls , yeah right.
  21. It's a good possibility at it seems your one brake light may be acting as a ground return on the trailer(sounds wierd, but it happens). If you are not getting power on the plug end your truck for brakes, then the problem is in the vehicle. Some vehicles do use a separate fused section for trailer plugs.
