  1. Like Terry said, no real problem, but if the prop doesn't sit below the bottom of the Zodiac, you're not going to get a lot of forward motion, just thrashing water around at the back.
  2. Some thing like this one eh? http://barrie.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-other-Floating-Dock-W0QQAdIdZ234129096
  3. You bunch of wannabee rednecks are only jealous that a slug from Angus came up with that idea. Once upon a time I had reclining GM high back bucket seats in my ice hut.
  4. I really don't think ford makes batteries and if they retail for $190 that's mad, and for $150, that's still mad. Go to Total Battery and get a Gp 27DC for around $110. Whoops, my bad, didn't see "pair"
  5. They are on sale this week coming for $49, 40% off.
  6. I wonder if that's got something to do with all OTA channels going digital this fall, no more analog.
  7. Taking the carb off and cleaning it is no magic, most of the Japanese engines run either Mikuni or Kehin(sp) carbs. Most likely there are 2 screws on the carb, one sets the idle speed, the other sets the idle fuel flow. The one that sets the idle speed with usually be located on top with a semi circular plate attached and the screw is just a stop point. The other is usually located on the side, open it(counterclockwise) about 1/8th of a turn. You will probably notice an immediate difference. I'm betting it's gummed up from leaving old gas in there, stabilizer or not.
  8. No, those settings are for different sized batteries. What I mean is, I use a larger Schumacher 10Amp charger when the battery is really down, it would take a long time for the CTEC to bring a big deep cycle back up to 100%.
  9. You can get waterproof BNC or TNC connectors, the male/female connection seals with an O ring, same thing that's in the back of your pants.
  10. I'm not quite sure if the Source still carries those items, an electronics repair shop such as those that deal with VHF radios will have them. BNC or TNC connects are quite acceptable. Matter of fact I got a TNC for my old bag phone from a Bell Mobile installer.
  11. i've got 2 of them, they may get warm but not hot to the touch. If I have to recharge a battery that's been depleted, then it goes on the auto car charger first and then back on the CTEC.
  12. Keep it well above the water line. There are waterproof TNC and BNC connectors available at electronics shops, Radioworld will probably have them.
  13. I usually find that loud noises tend to point towards empty things such as wallets and some parts on the human body. If aftermarket accessories were that beneficial, the OEMs would be installing them from the factory.
  14. I've seen the driveshaft, part #50, get stuck from carbon fouling and it won't release from the splined insert. Sometimes a sharp tap with a rubber hammer will loosen it up.
  15. I know one thing for sure, if you don't get it right, you can fry the radio final amp or driver. That may be worth more than a new antenna. If you have the space, get a ratchet mount and an 8 foot fiberglass antenna. Durham Radio in Whitby has all the stuff you need. I suppose you could take the broken antenna to them and ask for a fix.
  16. Check before you buy by the date code stamped in the side of the tire. Not all, but I'm betting most are made overseas. Some of the newer Goodforayear are made in the US. What size are you looking at? I use 5.30x12 LR C on mine, bought at TSC, (Tractor Supply).
  17. That depends on the tires for one thing. If your bo/mo/trailer weighs a 1000, then /x2, each tire carries about 500lbs. If the tires rating is 1000, you have lots of safety space. Now comes the fun part. Radials can be used with less than the full recommended air pressure, bias ply should be run close to the recommended pressure to reduce heat caused by sidewall flex.
  18. Roy, it's past your bedtime but you got it right. The other fat red is for running the 2 batteries in series to make 24V
  19. So in other words, don't blame synthetics for doing the job its designed for, blame the crappy seals in the older motors that can't keep the oil in.
  20. I run my car and truck on the Amsoil recommended change, up to 3 times mfrg specs, nothing has blown up since '78 for me. Some synthetics carry a better mix of chemicals to neutralize the contaminates.
  21. F/F's have a transmitter circuit in them to power the transducer, very similar to a radio or TV station. Your AM/FM is a receiver and when they are co located that close, the F/F will bleed into the radio, distance is about the only thing other than a custom made filter for the radio.
  22. What Jedimaster said, you'll have to add new spring perches unless it's a non arched, perfectly straight axle. You'll loose 2-3 inches of clearance under the fenders and have a bit of premature tire tread wear.
  23. Only problem is when it breaks down, do you go to the Canadian Tire marine section in the store for spare parts or wait for the boat from China to bring you parts. Same goes for other things like gennies, one of the campers has gone through 4 different brands, he finally broke down and bought a Honda. He doesn't even bring his tool kit anymore.
  24. Give buddy a little more wind and he'd be up in the trees, now that would be something to see.
  25. Sincere condolences, every time I see one of these posts, I can remember when I was a little guy and go catch a few fish with dad. Those moments are never long enough.
