  1. I run my car and truck on the Amsoil recommended change, up to 3 times mfrg specs, nothing has blown up since '78 for me. Some synthetics carry a better mix of chemicals to neutralize the contaminates.
  2. F/F's have a transmitter circuit in them to power the transducer, very similar to a radio or TV station. Your AM/FM is a receiver and when they are co located that close, the F/F will bleed into the radio, distance is about the only thing other than a custom made filter for the radio.
  3. What Jedimaster said, you'll have to add new spring perches unless it's a non arched, perfectly straight axle. You'll loose 2-3 inches of clearance under the fenders and have a bit of premature tire tread wear.
  4. Only problem is when it breaks down, do you go to the Canadian Tire marine section in the store for spare parts or wait for the boat from China to bring you parts. Same goes for other things like gennies, one of the campers has gone through 4 different brands, he finally broke down and bought a Honda. He doesn't even bring his tool kit anymore.
  5. Give buddy a little more wind and he'd be up in the trees, now that would be something to see.
  6. Sincere condolences, every time I see one of these posts, I can remember when I was a little guy and go catch a few fish with dad. Those moments are never long enough.
  7. Exactly what I had for a late supper, morels and fried eggs on toast. I also found another one you can eat, they grow on tree's. I've never seen them before, they're called Dryads Saddle or Pheasant Wings.
  8. Moisture yes, cold nights, hmmmmm, wonder why I've never had a radio thunder in at -40.
  9. Time for the wrench. Clean the terminal connections, good, but why would you want to apply vaseline or anything else to the mating surfaces? You're trying to get 100% no resistance and that ain't gonna happen too well with your method. Tighten up the connectors dry and then apply whatever you want around the terminal and connectors.
  10. Oh boy, if that would only happen, I'd need a part time job.
  11. X2, there's a variety of full time battery maintainer chargers out there, they stay hooked up for the WHOLE time, no need to disconnect. As for putting batteries on concrete, it's bunko, get with the program. If you have to replace your batteries every year, I applaud you for propping up the battery industry. Some people don't learn. Batteries discharge more slowly at lower temps, leaving them in an unheated garage is acceptable, but leave them on the charger.
  12. Wayne's still got a good eye..or two. First three pics show fender wear marks on the outer tread bar. Broken leaf spring in the pack, overweight, or some nasty potholes, or oversize tires.
  13. Any tire shop will be able to get them for you. Princess Auto also carries a number of sizes that might fit you(the trailer). Here's a link for you: http://www.princessauto.com/trailer/trailer/trailer/tires/list-all/Page-3-30?orderby=product_name
  14. Go and take a look for the date stamp, it will look something like this 3205 or 1504. The first one is 32nd week of 2005, the other is the 15th week of 2004. Most tires have a lifespan of about 5-6 years, regardless of the mileage. The rubber and compounds deteriorate regardless. I can see porosity between the treads. Although there is sufficient tread depth, I wouldn't trust them. When you buy new ones, look at the date or tell the dealer you won't accept anything older than 3 months, it's your money and safety.
  15. Well I was right then, it's not burning off the condensation. Last thing after fishing or trolling, I'm usually about 3-4 km off shore and run the motor at about 2/3 to 3/4 throttle, that warms it enough to prevent that problem.
  16. Winds from the east......They bite the LEAST! Winds from the West... They bite the BEST! Winds from the South...Blows the hook in there MOUTH! Wind from the north,....Don't bother going forth
  17. Apart from it looking like liquid baby poop, I wonder if it's not condensation mixed with the oil. Some 4 strokes seen to have a bad habit of "making oil" from running at low speed and not burning off the moisture. I hope that's just recent and didn't sit in the engine all winter.
  18. I wonder if he knows which end goes in the water. Take the cowl off, if it looks like a lawnmower engine with the fins, it's air cooled, no fins, water cooled.
  19. I'm sure it has something to do with wasting a renewable resouce called gas, and I would highly suspect he's just wasting a little bit, whether to "look good" or "be proud" of his accomplishments has nothing to do with it.
  20. 10ga. wire, just a "bit" of overkill, 12ga. is lots enough, rubber coated 2 wire conductor like an extension cord, not the red/yellow/orange plastic shinola. If you use an auto reset circuit breaker and it decides to croak when the balls down, you're gonna be annoyed. 20A fuse in a covered fuse holder close to the battery.
  21. Complete with the air horn button and activator.
  22. Sunoco is now PetroCan and they have ethanol in everything, only the Shell premium is ethanol free..for the moment.
  23. Ya, right, I would say neither of you should be giving out legal advice or any hints of doing things that can give her grief down the road.
  24. He has 12" rims, 13" tires don't fit too well on that. Tractor Supply has the 5.30x12 LR"C" for $79.
