  1. No Art, this is a completley different scenario taught during (DDC) Defensive driving courses. You're trying to stop of a rain laden, or hard pack snow or icy surface, you slam it into neutral or clutch it. Try it sometime if you can find a healthy patch of ice down there. Hard to explain, but it works.
  2. It's not a RWD problem, after doing a number of DDC lessons, if the brakes are not stopping you on ice, "you shift into neutral", it removes the small bit of power even when at idle. Try it you'll be amazed. In addition, the proper seasonal tires will increase your traction or stopping ability.
  3. The brighter bulbs may work for a while but tend to burn out faster. That along with the fact that most of the bright ones are not legal for street use. You may be able to get a good set of projector driving lamps to increase the coverage.
  4. Well..then you'd have a shirt for a toothpick if you sewed them together to put on as shoulder patches..
  5. Jan 1st is a Wednesday..
  6. If you plan on going into Canadian Tire tonight to get your licence, don't bother, apparantely none of their stores can access the system, call tomorrow before you go and get mad.
  7. Thanks for the reminder, have my alarm clock set for midnight..I imagine the rush will be on.
  8. When it's icy, the homemade chains work like a charm No moonshine tub, that's my long departed fathers old shop vac, back from about 1965 or so. That make quick work of the wood work shop instead of sweeping..me.
  9. If it's a soft spot, that usually means the encased wood is rotted, water logged, etc. If it's wet or damp now, it will freeze and keep getting worse. There's no way around it, there's some surgery involved, cut out the bad stuff, replace and reseal. Putting a bandaid over gangrene doesn't fix it. Finding the little spot usually ends up being much bigger once you start fixing
  10. Has nothing to do with the brand of the oil or penetrant that the latch quit... it's a GMC ...Go Make Corrosion. I know, now I'm in for an kickin. G96 or CLP if it's stuck and supposed to move without rusting..
  11. Hahahaha, nuttin that a couple of old bedsheets can't fix... Maybe you can borrow one from Ma Bell, nobody would think twice then, just normal goofing off instead of working..
  12. Someone else mentioned they saw a red hut on the ice, maybe have to go for a drive tomorrow. I know that place.
  13. If I can't go in the boat, you sure aren't either..I'm dancing a tune right now just for you..wish you luck out there and don't be in a canoe like them numpties were in Waubushene last week.
  14. At 45, this thing looks better than some Cougars

  16. Approach her gently and ask if she would really be upset about you trading it in for something that's more suited to your needs. Mine can't seem to understand that I like zippers on the pockets on my fleece jackets so I don't loose stuff. Then she says, you never like what I buy you....fine, time to warm up the garage.
  17. Vous attraperez des morpions.
  18. X3 on Bear Creek cottages, Shawn and Terra are very good operators.
  19. 23, bah that's still a baby, mines 45.
  20. I've heard some guys were satisfied, others took them back for a refund. I'm still sitting on the fence on these, pretty expensive. So far I just use the the peel and stick hot packs, they are great even on the coldest of days out ice fishing.
  21. Okay, thanks very much.
  22. Terry, do you have to manually enter the GMRS frequencies or is it like channel 1,2,3..etc. This is an interesting radio.
