  1. Nice offer for sure, Please do not enter me though I can't afford the gas. Art
  2. I dehydrate everything but fish and that is in the smoker. Art
  3. Lew here is the finish of what I described before Art
  4. Welcome to the club I am not even tempted by my buddies Gloomis rods any more. I think he is finding that my rods are very nice also he seems to get "confused" and picking up my rods when we are fishing in the same boat. Art
  5. That is a nice system t.j. it looks like it is a place to check back every few days to see what nugget of goodness pops up. Art
  6. My Grandpa made me a hatch cover table many years ago using this method and it removes the softer part of the wood and leaves the knots and deepens the grains of the wood. He then stained and sealed it and installed black 2 inch bands on the ends. Art
  7. Radiant heat is very expensive to retrofit into a house. It also does not provide for humidification of the air. I installed a electric grid under the tile in my parents bathroom and while nice it is expensive to run but since it is one room and the rest of the room is over the top anyways they deserve it. Art
  8. Nice job Lew it is such a pleasure to get away from burning wood in my opinion. You also can look into getting some 1" X ?" soft wood (pine or Poplar etc.) and having it sandblasted. You can get a very rustic look that will take a stain and have texture. Art
  9. You are correct sir. It is why I didn't tell him how much he would save on the conversion. Once the initial outlay Propane is one of the best ways to heat for ease and convenience. You could also get rid of most of the heating issues by coming to the Dark side Southside Luke. Art
  10. I'm loving the lay out T.J. and look forward to seeing the summer selection of products I don't get any chance of icefishing done down South here. I am sure as you have piloted this and your many other sites forward the Tackle shop will do just as well. Art
  11. Propane all the way here. I have a 500 gallon buried tank that is filled on a contract. They send me a quote in the summer for $1.99 this year per gallon and I bought 1000 gallons. If I don't use it they will send me a check or just keep it on the account for next year. The conversion btu is 96,000 btu per gallon of gas. A Water heater is 45,000 btu's or 1/2 gallon per hour. The furnace are usually 1 gal per hour. The 92% efficentcy units are vented through PVC pipe and will eliminate any chance of chimney fires in the future. You can also check into a wood stove shaped gas fire unit that burns 30,000 BTU per hour that is on a thermostat and does not need to be vented. If you need any other info call or P.M. me. Art
  12. cool deal looks kind of chilly but it paid off. Art

  17. Small world. I am going there on the 20 of Feb. for a week of fun and fishing. My brother was there two weeks ago and was on the far side of the island and found that most of the fish to be had were reef fish. He fished the Atlantic side for a limited amount of time though and caught a few fish over a foot. The bait of choice it seemed was the silver/chrome rattletrap burned back behind the surfline. The area that you (we) are going there should be more of a surf fishing type environment. That being said the fish can be caught with bait or lures just behind the surf line. I usually use a 5 oz sinker with a slider hook rig and a 1/0-4/0 hook and small fish caught in the surf with a sibiki rig. (5-7 tiny hooks inline). A few top water and a few large wiggling and tight wiggling lures 4-8 ft running lures. a few Crappie sized jigs with marabou and if all else fails and you want to just jig around the rocks and have fun get a tiny hook and some bananas (no I'm not kidding ) squish up some banana and chum with it then a hook with a little banana gets dropped in the middle of the fun. Good luck and send me a P.M. when you get back and tell me what you found worked please. Thanks Art
  18. Looks like things are getting better for you. Glad to hear and happy Perchin. Art
  19. Titanium R bends "seem" to me at least to have more of a flutter on the drop weight is 3/8 to 1/2 depending on what depth I need to reach. Art
  20. I would add smoke too T.J. Art
  21. They are one of the best ways to get bait for Saltwater fishing. You cast into a school of mullets or shad and bingo you got free bait. Art
  22. A diverter valve that is working correctly will divert 99% with possibly a trickle just faster than drops. I can't help with the brand names you said because they are not sold in the US. A faucet of that age though you should be able to replace the stems and seats and restore it back to 95% or better. Art
  23. They are some nice lures for sure. If you want to try some of them out Heddon still makes quite a few of them still. The older ones boxed and papers are the key to there value. A plastic baggy with a few moisture gel packs in a dark place will keep them from aging till you want to sell them. Art
  24. O.K. you all win now stop with the cold weather attack. 13 F this morning brrrr
