  1. I found an icepick/knife thru the brain as a quick and effective way to kill a fish. This is even the way our DNR has instructed people to dispach Snakehead fish that have been caught. It is even illegal to have a live snakehead in the livewell or return it back to the water. Art
  2. Take your pointer and hold it on a place for 2 seconds and it will tell you it's function

  3. For some using a tablet/phone scroll to the bottom and change the setting to mobile user and it will give you a version that is OFC lite. This might help with the small print.

  5. ATTENTION do not attempt to skin you will lock yourself out. The old skin is outdated and not repeat not compatable. we will get skin as soon as we get people back on line .thanks art

  6. Hopefully this will continue to flow and keep the Carp in check and the shipping lanes open for industries to use. I am not sure what the final answer is but I am sure we can all work towards it. Art
  7. I agree it is an important piece and will gladly reopen it if the title is not inflammatory. Right now with the change over it is a little hectic here and I don't need a distraction such as it was. Thanks for your understanding and I have turned it back on with a different title. Art
  8. good Job mike I hope someone will send me a P.M. with the article so I can read it. I am sorry to hear about your Uncle though best wishes and prayers for him. Art
  9. Just a reminder it is very important you do not try to change the skins you will lock yourself out they are not compatible

  10. For now please do not change the skins you will have an issue we are working on it now

  11. If you are having an issue please tell us here. We need a detailed discription of what is wrong. What operating system you are using and what type of device you are having the issue with. Thanks
  12. We have to have a N-8 or a double check valve vented to atmosphere inline to pass code while overkill just by terminating it above the floodrim of the drain is enough. Art
  13. We are upgrading see the thread pinned in General Discussion

  14. Actually the Titan is a great truck it is Nissan that is morally bankrupt. A long story short but Nissan did not step up and repair a leak on a rear axle seal and that the repair included 2 new axles and seals $3200.oo due to a bulletin they had out. This was at 37,000 miles it was replaced with the ford. Art
  15. Looks like a trap primer to me now Lew. I have never seen that in the USA. I learned a new thing here. I checked our code book (BOCA)The set up is illegal down here it is a cross connection meaning it has the potential to allow sewage to contaminate a water valve. I would advise if you use it to make sure it does not come in contact with the drain and is 1 inch above it in case it backs up. The other thing you can do is if it is a drain that this is the only source of water you can put 1/2 cup of cooking oil down the drain. It will remain in the trap (won't evaporate) and control odors but will drain water if there is an over flow. You then do not need a trap primer. Art
  16. Lew it looks to me like it is a faucet that was piped in for a hand spray and it is malfunctioning. They then removed the head and tucked it in a drain instead of capping it off. I have not seen a trap primer and faucet combo here in the States but the codes here are different from Canada. A true trap primer will allow a tablespoon of water thru and then shut off it is controlled from the pressure differential between being turned on and off. If water flows out of it as long as the faucet is on then I am 99% sure it is not a trap primer. Art
  17. I agree with you Ecmilley on the spark plug replacement. I have seen a few cases where they have corroded in place and it was a major expense to have them pulled and replaced. Once done though pulling them every 25,000 seems to be often enough to keep them from re seizing. I am a ford fan myself and I am extremely happy with the 2012 ecoboost motor but as we all know time will tell but the outlook is good so far. Art
  18. Good haul Brian have you tried meal worms up North they are a really good bait for crappie down here when it gets cold. Art
  19. I am glad you are back on the road, be happy it will be awhile before you have to repair it again most likely. Art
  20. It is very possible we run 5 rods off the back of the boat (legally)dead baiting. Our best day was 1500 lbs now it is not a normal day but we usually average 200-400 lbs averaging 20-30 lbs each. The Blue Catfish is not considered a game fish and in my area it is an invasive species. I wish it was different I find them to be a great fish and since they are an invasive species the trotliners can set as many lines as they want and sell them as fertilizer if they chose.GRRRRR Art
  21. The older cars are remembered in a better light than they real were in. Tune up every three thousand miles, rattling noises, rusting out, fuel sucking, unsafe and unreliable for the most part. We forget that the new vehicles while more complicated can go for 100,000 miles before a tune up. Tires that go 60,000 miles because the tolerances of the front end are that tight and dependable. We have to give credit to the better materials we have to use including lubricants and technology. I found one of the best ways to keep your costs down in the repair shop is to find a shop that wants to earn your business. Interview the mechanic and owner before you need a repair. When you bring in your car for repair and they present you with an estimate don't be afraid to ask the questions you need to so you understand what they are doing for the price quote. Don't tell them it is to expensive until then and then ask them if there are options to make it less expensive. I know as a plumber that if people approach a repair this way I fell then it is not just a person trying to get a better price than the job deserved. It keeps both of the people from getting defensive the customer doesn't feel ripped off and the mechanic is not feeling like you called him a crook. I have had the pleasure of an auto mechanic for 15 years and I make sure he knows he is appreciated and he does the same. BTW I am not down on older cars we have a 64 GTO, 65 Ford Pick up and a 72 VW Convertible we love to play with they do not go to the shop because they are from a time where you could work on them. 22. These are some of the improvements I either repaired or added when I restored a Ranger I rebuilt and I have found very useful. The 12 volt plug and the light in the rod rack are things on my to do list. A friend has red led lights running low under the rails for night fishing and it allows you to land fish and walk around the boat without destroying your night vision.Winter is a great time to do the little improvements we all wish we had when it is fishing season. Art
  23. Run a main power cable up front and a junction box for future electronics with fuses and switches that can be tapped into. Install a master cut off in the back of the boat to the line feeding the front. Install a tilt trim switch up front if the motor has that feature. Install lighting with switches down low if you are out after dark. 12 volt cigarette lighter/plug in for accessories. Light in rod locker with door switch. Last but not least a steering wheel. lol Art
