  1. Ribbits are the bomb. They even have a special twin hook weighted and unweighted to make sure they work correctly. Art
  2. Good thoughts thank you for sharing. Art
  3. You have added a new element to this saga and that is unless the switch is a heavy duty light switch rated for 15 amps it could also be the issue. I would turn off the circuit breaker and remove the switch. Replace the switch with a heavy duty switch rated for the amp # on the fuse box for the pump. If it has a 15 on it it is a 15 amp fuse 20 etc. If after you do this it cuts out do not touch anything. Remove the cover off of the grey switch that is on the pump look to see if the contacts are open or appear closed. Look at the gauge if it still works and see if what the pressure reads. If the contacts are closed and there is less than 20 lbs of pressure tap the contacts with a non conductive item. If the pump comes on then replace the switch and replace or clear out the 1/8 tube. If it does not come on then test for voltage at the switch with a multi meter. If you are not sure of how to do this stop and have someone who is come out and test for you. Art
  4. Good thing they didn't ask my Grandpa he used to answer that question with " Does it fit between 2 crackers?" or " does it have two eyes?" Art
  5. You are correct Chappee thanks for the info. Shallow well pumps are very rare in my neck of the woods I haven't seen one in years and forgot to consider them in this answer. Art
  6. glad to hear Mike now we can put this thread back to sleep. Art
  7. Replace the squareD switch. It is the gray unit that the wire run into two from power and two to the pump. Look inside of the cover to see if it is 20/40 or a 30/60 switch (cut in cut out pressure). Look carefully at the way it is wired before you take it apart if you wire it wrong you will ruin the new switch instantly and blow the breaker. I also advise you to replace the 3/8th X 6" brass tube it is usually full of debris/scale and will effect the accuracy of the pump pressure. Art

  11. Cheap sunglasses are bad for your eyes. If you are looking for quality then you pay for quality. If you haven't ever owned a pair of glasses that are optically correct and protect your eyes then you will not know what you are missing. My last lenses were prescription with photo grading and polarized were not cheap however they make a day in the sun a breeze without eye strain and protects my eyes from damage. Art
  12. I pretty sure you can but I would start getting it buttoned up winter starts again in 3 weeks up there in your neck of the woods. Art
  13. They usually spawn out after they disappear from the deep water points. If you are catching them in 6ft or less of water and the area in shallows are showing circle (spawning beds) then the spawn has started. The good news is if you take a few for the pan you will not hurt the crappie population just hold off the fish fry till after if you can. lol Art
  14. Bass Pro sends you a get well soon card because you haven't been in for two weeks. Art
  15. I am sure Rob is keeping the concerns of all of his members in his decisions. Hope you get it solved Rob. Art
  16. Save the money up and get a Spiel creation the way they are built and the materials he uses make a big difference..They are responsible for me being able to feel a lot of the fish I used to miss because of poor building quality of mass produced rods. Yes some of the mass produced rods are good and it isn't till you are worming and have had both will you truly appreciate the handmade rods. Art
  17. With a good introduction and a little history you might get someone comfortable enough to invite you to go fishing with them. Then an offer of gas and a good sandwich will get you invited back. Welcome to the board remember the more you give here the more you receive. Art
  18. Might I suggest a 2" pvc tube for the roof rack with bungiee cords. Use a piece of 1" thermocell on the rod before inserting and you are bullet proof on damage. Remove the reel and store inside the car. Price is extremely cheap. Art
  19. Tungsten has it uses but it is in a very few instances it works better. I use it for fishing grass matts it catches less weeds. I don't feel it is worth the extra cost to be eco friendly. I use them mostly on a shaky jig set up so the clacking is not prevalent since it is in weedy conditions. Art
  20. I use a small treble hook with one of the hooks cut off at the shank. Sharpen the heck out of the hooks they have to be lazer sharp. Cut a strip of belly white from a fish. leave 1 inch of meat on it and 3-5 inches of just the skin so it flutters. Put a little weight 12 inches in front of the hook so you can cast past the fish and reel it back across there noses. when they strike it is quick and you got to stick them with the hook. The mouth very hard and bony but can be stuck. The use of yarn and cotton rope can be used tied to a jighead without a hook. If you do use the rope be very careful to remove all of the bits from the fishes mouth or it will starve. Good luck Art
  21. O.K. you send me the signed poem and I will name my first born after you. P.S. I am 51 years old ( not sure what that is in Metric) lol Art
  22. Look at the ones that use U.V. as the flash they are not seen by the eye and yield excellent night photos. Also inquire if it has any type of status lights the ones without are better since they do not show up in the woods. Art
  23. looks like a really nice reel thanks for calling our attention to it and don't forget to tell us how it is when you get it. Art
  24. I am sorry to hear about your mom it is so tough when they are in pain. I will offer up a few prayers for her I am sure the Big Guy already is doing his best for her. As for the poem......well........ummmmm......don't quit your day job. Lol Art
  25. No issues the saltwater reels are normally built with more corrosion resistant parts and better seals. The down side is they are usually slightly more expensive. I am using a few of the okuma saltwater series in fresh for big Catfish with no issues in 5 years. Art
