  1. Hey all, Had a pretty good flood at the house. Insurance contractors ripped the place up pretty good to dry it out. I am not very good at electrical, actually not a fan of it at all to be honest. They tore down half of the ceiling on the main floor. I have a family member who has offered me some pot lights for free basically and before they come in to drywall the ceiling again I would like to install them. My Question - Is it possible to put in pot lights in the rest of the ceiling that is not torn down? If so, is it really hard to do. ie. snaking the wire etc? I looked online but didn't really get any solid advice. Added a picture, not the best but the area I am asking about is to the left in the picture where the drywall is still up. Thanks, Phil
  2. ha! Can't fish anything else but a 28" ice rod in those spots now anyways. My bro and I use baitcasters on the Ganny and some parts of Duffins. I prefer a spin or pin tho.
  3. "Shoot it son" "it a bass Pop, we's gotta tag fer dat?"
  4. Ouch, looks like you hooked into a pair and not fish!
  5. Some great tips here - thanks. Never aquired a taste for any other fish except fried and battered. I am going to harvest more of my fish this year and introduce broiled and baked fish to my girls.
  6. The concept, though not new, makes sense IMO. I can picture alot of water these rigs should shine. We'll see, I'll have some video of it soon targeting some other species. Looking forward to throwing it on Lake Ontario and Simcoe for smallies and deep largies. As for the bog Sinclair, there are a few areas these could rock, especailly for them green smallies. There is a smaller version I have that I think the Perch will eat up, especailly on Simcoe. we'll see.
  7. I use 95% one piece for bass, walleye etc.. One of my favourite rods broke and the only replacement I could find was a 2pc. It is a jerk bait rod and I really can not tell the difference.
  8. Solid advice here... Another bait I like to use is an egg sucking leech. They love'm.
  9. No I haven't had the chance to hold one yet unfortunately, but those I know who have are really "excited" about them. still working out the pricing, will PM you once it is all arranged. I have comfirmed they will be at the TO show. Good Fishing!
  10. they may know you and since everything is mostly bilingual, I am going to go with "Can't Peche"
  11. I will have some. Could possibly be at the TO show too.
  12. try spell check...geez, Niagara River
  13. If you can head to the sportmans next week. Pick a price and try out a few of the rods mentioned here in that range and decide.
  14. Held these at the show, I really liked them. New for 2012 and hard to keep in stock - https://www.okumafishing.com/product/view/rods/freshwater/crappie-high-performance
  15. Yes sir. I read an article today that mentioned Burke has whined to media brass before and not just at cbc.
  16. Strong arm should be on the rod. More power, better aim. Using the wrong hand on the reel feels like you are writing with the wrong hand, it takes practice. I switched over quite a few years ago now. With some practice I noticed a huge difference. For the first while I only pitched and flipped left handed and casted right. Now it is all left. Most guys like KVD, never switched because back in the day you could only really get right hand baitcasters. Sometimes it is hard to teach an old dog new.... you know... Those that switch hands after each cast, pitch, flip are probably very comfortable doing it, but for myself switching from right to left was well worth it. For what it's worth.
  17. Wakebaits eh, something on the "to try" list this year! The Livetarget BlueGill and Pumpkinseed look pretty sweet. I figured the opposite for you Mike! Let the crowd pound this obvious spot and follow them up with a float. .5lb leader and a single egg.
  18. Awesome Vance, nice day out too eh..
  19. I would recommend going with a 7'6. I personally like the longer rod especially for topwater junk fishing. I've used a lot of different rods over the years. Last year I used an Okuma EVx 7'6 Flipping Stick for frog fishing and I'll use the same thing this year. They worked great and held up to a good workout. The $90 price tag is nice too.
