  1. Hey Bucktail, I have heard great things about their rods and their baits. Actually looking to bring them up here to my store. Should know soon. Do be careful when buying from ebay. Not all, but some may be seconds or returns in addition to what fishgreg mentioned above.
  2. I think that rod would of snapped if it was real. I've thrown a 4 lure one, that was heavy enough.
  3. Give one spool of the Tuf-Line Duracast a shot guys if you like using braid for the ice.
  4. LOL, that's the fishing world for ya! Great response.
  5. Craig, done my friend, having worked on shows too I wonder if you had an easy time answering as I did on some of those questions. I am not assuming a new show is on the horizon, but tough to imagine someone coming out with a new show nowadays. I would think the internet/web based would be where to look for the future moving forward and a solid (ground level)investment for potential "sponsors". For example the Surely episodes, I really enjoy them and believe they are on to something.
  6. Very Nice! And... you have a great rebutal next time someone tells you to go S..... yourself.
  7. Thank you sir. We have one at the bunky, work Great. Unfortunately to large for a Bass boat. Maybe I can jimmy something up to hold the bag in the livewell with the same principle. Duck tape? .. hmmm, thanks for getting the wheels turning.
  8. Interesting staffman. I was wading into Lake O and fishing beside a guy who was using something that may of been similar or maybe one of yours. He was a grumpy fella, so I never did ask what and where he got it from. But I liked it. Can someone still get them? As for an invention... someone please come up with a "boat potty" for kids and women. I am not using the livewell again since my 4 yr old suprised me one time by putting her own fish in the well one day. That was an experience.
  9. You feel like you are standing there in that last shot. Should be Xmas card cover. Awesome.
  10. Thank you very Much Superdad for posting this!
  11. That brings back a memory. Does anyone else remember a few years ago when some guys parked on the ice off Westhore marina and ALL of them went through? I think there was 5 trucks. It was early season with not much ice at all and maybe 2ft deep.. I remember the deafening sound of the trucks breaking the ice as the tow truck tried to winch them out... brutal.
  12. I just got word from a friend who tried to get out today on ice that was safe a couple days ago on Simcoe. He turned around and went elsewhere. He called the ice "soft and not safe" anymore. Just sharing the heads up.
  13. I doubt highly it was the pressures of the "job". There is usually underlying reasons/problems for the way things turn out. These so called "enforcers" can and would skate circles around an average hockey player. Most started out as above average players who's roles changed depending on the team they were with and the quality of the other players.. I never did play the role of an enforcer but I do remember vividly the first time a coach told me to forget about the puck. That stung big time.
  14. Great choice Mike. Wait a sec.... you just bought a wicked boat and right now your on a beach soaking up the rays in Cuba. I would of bought the Lund. PS. Let me know the dimensions for the decal!
  15. Depending on the trailer park, some of them will lease you a boat slip. My friend did that on Buckhorn, I can't remember the name, maybe Anchor bay I think?
  16. What??? Use it as a tomatoe stick at least.
  17. I've gotten some great feedback on the Tuf-line Duracast because the coating it does not hold water. I've found that to be accurate with the lighter test but have not used the heavier LB myself.
  18. Awesome report, nice eyeball. I see your playing the ice version of Wii above, the Nippissing edition.
  19. That's cool. I'll include that in my next newsletter.
  20. Alot of good advice in this thread. Sometimes it is just the way they bite. On Simcoe when they are feeding on the shrimp you have be very fast and like Dabluz noted, have a rod that will show you the bite, but the back bone to drive the hook. Sometimes you really have to scale down so they suck the whole bait in too. Fenwick Elites are a very nice ice rod. For under $30 you can not go wrong. There are a few guys here who use them already and they seem happy with them. Good Luck, Phil
  21. Can't help you with sheild lakes, but I could fill your ear if you asked about lake O riggin for lakers. I will say my number one go to for lakers out there is a Flutterchuck. Green/metal is hands down a Laker Taker. Good luck.
  22. Yep, good to go Ben, but what do you need them for? I've seen pictures. lol..
