  1. Mike, if you are looking for a "one off aka wedding rod"" and spending that kind of money I would recommend doing a custom rod build. Your have enough time on the water to know what you are looking for. IMO. If am sure you can tap into a lot of guidance here about this or you can fire me a PM and I can point you in the right direction if this interests you. Phil
  2. Being open minded, unselfish and having a lot patience. Not to mention, kick butt fishermen.
  3. Not sure, but does there not have to be an allowance on a body of water? Reason I mention this is an old friend worked for a conservation authority and we hunted a private lake once but gained access through an allowance. If I remember right the allowance was only 25ft wide or so and you would never of found it without a map.
  4. Nope, just add a check mark.
  5. Sorry Mike, you left out two drift socks, tungsten pencil weights, a pop r and a moss boss. Your Fired, new ad up in busniess section looking for help.
  6. Good points Mike. We fish a pond compared to the water you talk about.
  7. They include Nature Hiking and Nature Observation/Bird Watching but leave out fishing? I made sure they know about my disappointment. If you feel the same please make sure you note it as well.
  8. Me too. Bell sinker, split shot, 6 inches of line, hook. Ziplock of corn in vanilla extract. Cast out, tighten up the line, squish a piece of bread on the line as a strike inticator and to give them a lil slack to suck it up with no resistance. Wait. My girls love carping.
  9. Lew, just launch by the Nuke Plant. Haven't had trailer paint chip in years.

  11. bring some shiver shads, finesse fish or other fluke style baits with ya.
  12. A 3 yr old with a float reel? That is awesome. You have to do a vid of that once she gets used to it. I was pumped when my 4 yr old could flip the bail and cast a spinning reel! I would go the fly reel route for sure.
  13. No sir, the shorelines are not open. However, in some of the areas I fish east and west of me the 20 boundry does not follow in shore the same as it does in other areas.
  14. Just getting dailed in on Lake Ontario shorelines and bays for Pike with the umbrella rig and it closed Mar 31..... or so I thought. Just had a hard look at the map boundry details between FMZ 20 and FMZ 17 Pike open year round.

  20. Hey maybe the $200 bucks will deter the one wizard from going for a swim for the 4th time.... probably not.
  21. I am still torn. You should be accountable if you put yourself is a dangerous situation and have been warned. Your the one flipping the coin IMO. But Billy does make some good points. Where do you draw the line? Extreme skiers? Rock Climbers? Guys fishing in a Canoe in February at the nuke plant outflow in 4 fters?
  22. What if it was one person. Do you think they would get charged the rescue fee?
  23. Not sure that would even cover wages of the call in emergency staff. PS. mods it appears there was two threads posted about this at the exact same time, if it is an issue feel free to pull this one if you like.
