The circuit board on those PD's has been a constant source of trouble since day one.

Some very impressive fish for everyone involved there Cudz & congrats on the win. It's always fun when you can make things a bit more interesting with a little competition against buds.

I'm like you Terry and use seperate units as well. I've got the 7" Globalmap GPS on the dash in front of me and then I put a 5" sonar on the other side. No room for both on my side but no problem seeing it on the passenger side.
-
I can't comment on that particular unit, but I'm thinking you'll be happier with a larger screen. Once you split the 5" screen to view both sonar & GPS at the same time your left with 2 very small images. Moving up to a larger screen makes a HUGE difference. Just my own personal opinion though

I'll give 2 boat related stories involving thieves. Story # 1....For years we had a house trailer in a small park in the Kawarthas and I always left my boat in the water all summer long. I bought a brand new boat in 1985 and decided to chain it to the dock when not in use. I had to go home on a Friday to work the weekend and my wife was gonna be at the lake with her girl friend so I unlocked the boat so they could use it. Saturday morning the girls head down to the lake to go for a boat ride and the boat is gone from the dock The lady that owned the park lived right beside the water and my dock and when Diane enquired about the missing boat, the owner said she heard it start up and take off at 4:00 A.M. She knew I was a very early riser so just assumed it was me going fishing. The police were called, plus a few of my buds went out on the lake to search for it and sure enuff they found it 5 miles away run up on a beach. No serious damage was done and the thieves were never found. Story #......2 It was in the same trailer park about 20 years ago when 4 loud mouth punks rented a cottage for the summer. They were all about 18-20 years old and none of them worked, but they had an old bassboat with a big motor and they just roared around the lake all day long. We wondered where they were getting all the $$ for gas and then after awhile guys in the park were having gas stolen from their boats. One of our boys had an old Jerry can and put in 2 gallons of gas and 2 gallons of COKE, then left it sitting on the seat of his boat, and sure enuff it was empty in the morning. We sat down at the beach in the morning and watched the punks take off for a boat ride but they only made it a very short distance before the motor gave up the ghost. It wouldn't start and they had to flag down a passing boat for a tow back to the dock. They hauled the boat & motor of to a mechanic but said later it would be too expensive to repair They left the park shortly after that and were never seen again and nobody ever had any gas stolen again either after they left

With the exception of a few folks around here, there's never been a problem with sharing info on stores that give good service and prices.

Art's a good dood for sure Spiel Couple years back I'd mentioned that one of my favorite musky baits was a large jailbird coloured Suick. Awhile later, we were all up at Lakair for the June g2g and Art surprised me with a gift of an 11" jailbird Suick....that he'd custom made himself. A good friend indeed !!

There's another one.

I'll bet Averie is real happy to call you Dad. Excellent post Ryan.

You already know my feelings Jim

You don't need to look to the States for big price differences compared to Canada, cause we've got some crazy differences right here at home too. I bought a trolling reel from JB's a couple years back for $385, regular price, and the exact same reel was selling at BPS in Vaughan, the same day and also regular price for $515.......$130 different for 2 stores only a couple miles apart. Certainly pays to shop around.

I honestly don't know if I have the equalizer or not Art, but the way you describe things I would spose I do.

Wow, those are some huge fish from what appears to be a small river. I've never tried river fishing but I can sure see what the attraction is

I also have dual tanks Albert, but I just always leave the selector switch in the "both" position and everything works fine with both tanks draining equally. Can't see any reason it won't work just as well with bypassing the selector switch altogether the way you want to do it As for the primer bulb, I'd think CTC would probably be your cheapest place.

It's definetely been a long time Sis and it's good to see you back on board.

Atta boy Steve, being a good guy definetely payed off in spades for you today. That's one gorgeous fish for sure and certainly well deserved my friend !! I also think that's one of the best fishing tales I've read this year

If you haven't been in the middle of a big storm on the Atlantic Ocean, with waves the size of hockey areans, it's hard to explain what it's like, but it's something you'll never forget. It's kinda the most exhilarating thing you'll ever go thru while also being the most terrifying, if that makes any sense As for Hurricane Hazel, I was also 7 years old and remember it very well, although we lived in the east end of town while the major damage and 83 deaths occurred in the west end around the Humber River valley. We lived down by Lake Ontario near Ashbridges Bay but my folks had just built a new home at Leslie & Lawrence in Don Mills and that was the day we were moving into the new home. I remember very vividely seeing the movers carrying our furniture out to the truck and everytime they set something light down on the sidewalk it would take off. Good thing we had lots of friends on the street cause they were all kept busy chasing our belongings around the nieborhhood. Funny memories for me as a child but very tragic for thousands of other Torontonians.

I had nothing to do with making that picture Roger, it was all Terry's handiwork from a few years back. He just combined a picture of me with a musky and a painting of the ship I served on in the Navy. It's a funny picture and just seemed to fit this thread

The lake runs east - west bassmasta as does the boating channel. No GPS numbers for you, just be more careful on the northern 1/2 of the lake and watch for the shoals. Lotsa good islands to fish around and as Dax suggested, there's some nice muskies in those areas, although very few of the larger ones. Some shallow sections on the lower half as well but not as bad and there's also nice weeds along the southern shore too. Best of luck to ya !!
-
It's been a proud century Will, and Roy, I see you've been doing your homework again....sharp as always !!
-
Just be careful as the waters north of the channel are shallow & rocky. Very pretty lake with excellent fishing.
