  1. Great story and congrats on your 1st ever musky !!
  2. Some nice fish there Bob and great to see the smile on that little guys face in the bottom picture !!
  3. Nuthin nicer than a big stringer of musky dragging behind the boat at the end of the day
  4. Excellent story, specially the part about the musky, they sure do like to make things interesting sometimes Sounds like a fun vacation for everybody !!
  5. That stach is purty near as old as me Marvin Like I said above, I never, ever weigh fish and that hog may honestly be the only fish I've ever weighed in close to 60 years of fishing. I'm only going by the average of what 2 scales said, and who knows how accurate those things are anyhoo Whatever the weight, it's certainly the largest bass I'll probably ever see again
  6. Good choice on the Tekota Pete, it's an excellent reel for trolling big baits.
  7. There's one more.
  8. Our November musky plans have changed so there's every chance I'll be making the Quinte pickeral trip this year. Haven't made the November trip since the 1st fall OFC g2g...5 or 6 years back ?? The year of the BIG KA....BOOM
  9. The only deer shooting I ever do is with my camera in my own backyard
  10. I haven't fished for bass in years and NEVER weigh fish as the weight of a fish just doesn't seem important to me, but I do carry scales in the boat incase any of my guests want to weigh something. When I saw this big girl though, I thought she was worthy of putting her on a scales. I was casting shallow water for musky using a #5 Mepps. A spring scale put her at 7.14 pounds and a digital showed her at 8.2 pounds. Don't know how accurate the scales were but they were both fairly close to each other. Whatever it was, she was a definate trophy largemouth.
  11. Perhaps I forgot to mention a new Skeeter/Yamaha combo I bought last year....does that count as a fishing expense ??
  12. Funny how that works, eh ??
  13. I've got a housefull of excellent gear and haven't bought anything in a couple years. I think alot of stuff catches more fishermen than fish
  14. Thanks Mike, reading stories like that is always a great way to start a day.
  15. Hey John, that little chippie was looking for Brent last week
  16. Some very impressive fish you and your son have there natron, your gonna fit into this fish'n board very nicely !!
  17. I use a product called On & Off that I picked up at my boat dealer. It's specially made for cleaning glass boats and really works well. Brush it on, rinse it off and the boat is spotless. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=8829&familyName=On+Off+Gel+Hull+%26+Bottom+Cleaner
  18. Vehicle manufacturers recommendation, you'll find it on a sticker inside your door.
  19. Atta boy Roger, that 48 is a beaut !! Congrats to your bud on his 1st musky too.
  20. Have a great trip Fang, the weather's looking pretty decent for the next week up that way. We're heading out this morning also and will be just south-west of you on the West Arm.
  21. I was wondering the same thing Jim, I always liked MuskyHunter but haven't seen it in quite awhile.
  22. Just my opinion but I think this thread has gotten a loooong ways off topic from where it started. A guy had his boat tied to his dock and some fisherman made a cast and snagged his seat. If anyone here wouldn't be pi$$ed if that happened to THEIR boat I'd be interested in hearing why ??
  23. Those portable garages are pretty good Steve and I think I've seen them 25' long so you may be able to find the size you need. Another good option is to see if you can find a farm around your area who rents space in their barn. I used to store my last boat high & dry inside a barn for $150 for the entire winter.
  24. Very dark here with clear skies this morning so I took my coffee out to the back deck about 3:45 and sat for the next hour watching the light show and it was well worth it. I counted 41 meteors, 5 satellites and 1 bat Great way to start the day
  25. Cloudy here this morning so nothing visible. Oh well, maybe it'll clear up for tonight.....hopefully.
