  1. Great stuff Steve. Was more amazing is that you showed up (on time!) for the Jr. tournament on Sunday morning on just a couple of hours sleep! Thanks again for helping them out by volunteering your time. Cheers!
  2. As I said, I'm offering up my boat (and time) for this great cause. Let's face it, the kids are our future. I know you were a junior not long ago and certainly benefited from others helping out. Nice to see you return the favour. My son (fishman2202) will be posting a request for boats on this forum. I hope some OFC members can help them prevent the cancellation of the qualifier next Sunday. Cheers.
  3. Hey Steve. Too bad you didn’t repeat yesterday in the Juniors Mentor tournament out in Gloucester! LOL. Seriously though, thank-you for offering your boat, your time and your knowledge to the boys. It means a great deal these juniors (including my son). It’s too bad that the Juniors may miss next week’s qualifier due to lack of boats. Let’s hope some others will step up to the plate and offer their help. (I've offered mine to help) Thanks again!
  4. Happy Birthday Jacques!!! I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday. Man is Melissa ever growing up fast. Soon she will be out fishing you. All the best.
  5. Hey Stoty, I am so sorry for your loss. She must have been a true inspiration to you. Take care my friend.
  6. Just finished reading the Toronto Sun article in today's paper by Mike Strobel. Seems this snakefish is a real predator and threat to our fresh water lakes. Apparently this "monster" can live out of water for 4 days, can survive a good clubbing and time in the freezer. WOW! What is this thing? You can read it here Snakefish
  7. I doubt it. Everything else under the cover seems dry. It's also more noticeable once pulled back from being in the water. Great motor other that thhe moisture issue.
  8. Hi all. I have a small issue with a Minn Kota Fortrex 80 bow mounted trolling motor. I installed it late last year and have now found that it "leaks" from the tubing that houses the control cables. It is causing a rust coloured stain on my deck. The boat is covered with a mooring cover so I don’t think its rain related. Water somehow is making it up to the head and it is coming out the cable cover. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas on fixing this? I am assuming there is a seal gone somewhere but cant be sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. As I said............You SHOULD be ok. I'll agree an accident or unscheduled road work can change things quickly. Maybe TJ should drive to Yorkdale Mall and take the TTC.
  10. TJ, I'll agree with Wayne. You should be ok at 11:00 AM but you never know in the big smoke.......................
  11. Hey Dave, it was great meeting you out on the water as well. My son Alexander(fishman2202) and I had a great time on Saturday. Non-stop action from the time we got there. It was funny seeing him catch those jumbos on a bare jigheads after we ran out of our minnows!!! Thanks for the picture of us on our boat. That’s one of the best picture of the boat if seen. I'm stuck in the city this week-end so I won’t be out there again. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make time in the next few week-ends to get back out on the water. Tony
  12. Lagoon City. I am breaking ground on my new home next month. I am hoping to spend the weekends up there with my family and friends for now but I would like to end up retiring there eventually (I've got the Mrs. to convince first).
  13. Way to go Randy! It's people like you that make this board great. You are truly a friend and an inspiration to others. After reading the bickering over fish limits on some threads, it was a pleasant surprise to read this thread with such a wonderful ending. Cheers.
  14. Flex, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Keep him in your heart. We will keep him in our prayers.
  15. So I went down to the Sportsman show yesterday with my son. I like the new digs. Lots of great seminars and some good deals if you look for them. I was after a new rod and reel combo and lucked into a great deal for the new Shimano Stradic 2500 CI4F Spinning Reel. After talking to the Shimano guys, I found that Lebarons had the reel on sale for $190.00 + tax. That was a super deal compared to $240.00 + tax at a few other booths. I matched it up with a Cumara 6'8" MH Fast Action rod. I found it at Natural Sport for $200.00 taxes in! I cant wait to try it out on opening day for bass. Come on June....................... So, any other deals out there?????
  16. Hey Scugog, I bought my son a 12 ft jon boat from BPS. It was cheap and very light. I added a 4 hp Yamaha 4 stroke (used) and he has enjoyed it immensely. We have a place in Lagoon City and its an excellent boat for the lagoons. I think the jon boats are on sale now at BPS. Hope this helps. TM
  17. I was there yesterday as well. New digs look good. I ended up with a great deal for a new outfit. I got a Shimano Cumara 6'8" rod from Natural Sports and the new Shimano Stratic 2500 at Lebarons. Both were a steal at under $200.00! I think I got the last Stratic at Lebaron. Everyone else had them at $240.00 + tax. Lebarons had it at $190.00 + tax. The rod was originally $300.00 down to $200.00 taxes in! I cant wait for Bass season to try this new puppy out. TM
  18. Hey Dave, looking forward, as always, to seeing you again. I will be there with my son Alexander (aka mini-me) and his Mercer Official Tournament Jersey. I think its getting to be too small on him. Any chance I can buy a bigger one for him?? See you soon. TM
  19. Hey Beans, you're bringing back fond memories of Sandercock's. Remember the "yellow" cottages? Some of my best Walleye fishing was on Rice Lake via Sandercock's. I was saddened to hear the news of Bob passing away. My kids and I still miss the great times we had there. They all caught their first fish there. WOW! Just memories now. TM
  20. Yes I can..............it's in his mouth. Very nice!!!!!!
