  1. That's my boy. You make me so proud every time we go out fishing.................and out fish me!! You seem to know more about fishing now that I did at twice your age. I can still remember back the big smile on your face when you caught your first bass and I look forward to many more years of fishing with you. Dad.
  2. There is a reason they call it unconditional love. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family for your loss. I hope time can heal the wounds.
  3. I just got a Lowrance combo for 600.00 from Radio World at the boat show. You also need the maps for the unit (another 165.00) You may want to check them out at the Sportsman Show in a couple of weeks . They will most likely have some deals on units. You may also find some good used ones through Kijiji. Cheers.
  4. 3rd in Provincials, thats awesome. Congrats to your daughter. These are memories that last a life time. Cheers.
  5. Great report on your three day adventure!!!!! I agree that today was cold. I was out there with Jr. and had to leave around 2:30 PM because the wind picked up adding to the cold temps.
  6. Sent in my second vote. That deserves at least a piece of the wedding cake. LOL!!!
  7. I don't understand why guys would risk loosing their ride on unsafe ice conditions. I drive out in my quad in a full floater and I am worried of going in and loosing the quad. I would never drive my truck out in any conditions even though it a 4 X 4. I see guys out with cars in deep snow getting stuck. Walk, sled or quad. Just my 2 cents.
  8. Kinda reminds me of the LA Kings crooked owner Bruce McNall. Its a shame when teams suffer from the greed.
  9. I agree with a couple of the previous posts in that you should know what you are getting into before dropping any cash. I also agree that 70K won't get you to far in most businesses. Established business that are profitable will cost you plenty more. Be carefull of the many scams out there as well. You may end up with nothing to show for your 70K. Star slow. Try something you may have an interest or talent in before you drop your hard earned money. Just my $0.02.
  10. Go with the four stroke. I have a 100 Hp Yamaha and I love it. Had a 115 Merc two stroke and there is no comparison. Quieter, better gas consumption and you can troll with your four stroke at lower speeds. Just my $0.02..............
  11. Crappy Tire stopped selling them. They have the short stubby Coleman type for soldering. They are basically the same price though, no real savings.
  12. I agree, great idea. Just bought one from Ebay. I go through a bunch of these and at $5 a piece, I usually try to conserve as much as possible. Now I wont feel so bad using up ones that I fill myself soon. Cheers
  13. Has anyone tried the Lowrance Ice fishing portable accessory pack PPP-161 which allows the use of a regular sonar unit (I have na X102 and a 520C) for ice fishing? I realize that the X67C ice machine does it as well, but the portable kit seems to give me everything I need to convert it to the same type of unit.
  14. Congrats. I've got two girls of my own ( and also a little guy). Funny, my oldest now 20 years old, still comes out will us to drop a line in when ever she can. I started them young and have enjoyed every minute I spend with them fishing. Enjoy her now, they grow up real fast. All the best!!
  15. Jet, I thought so too. Do you find the one piece mobile enough to fish comfortably?
  16. I see that crappy tire has the two piece Mustang on sale for 124.99 each piece. Are the one piece better?
  17. Just a question I was looking to buy a suit myself. Are these Helly Hansen better than the Mustang type. Are they warm as well?
  18. I guess if money is no object then that would be the perfect solution. Kinda the best of both worlds. Money is tight so that is out for me. I am going to look at that Yamaha moto four tomorrow. I am worried though that it is only a two wheel drive and only a 250 cc engine. I have been told by some it will be fine and by others it wont. i guess the only way to find out is to try it in the snow and see what she does.
  19. I think the other reasons I was thinking quad was the fact that I will be throwing it the back of my pick up and I think they are a little smaller in size and easier to jockey around my small garage.
  20. All great points. Thanks for confusing me more.......LOL. Seriously though, I think Jr. and I may get more use from quad. We may have to be a little more patient and may have to pick our days and spots to pop the holes. Anyhow, if anybody knows of decent quad, let me know.
  21. Thanks again for all the input. I guess it comes down to personal preference and past experince. I would like to use the toy in the summer so I'm leaning towards a quad. Where can these "deals" on good used quads be had. I thought 1000.00-1200.00 for a used quad might be OK. Anybody have one or know of one for sale?
