  1. I have the woods jacket.. pretty effective but you can't see through it worth a damn. Does anyone use the vitamin B patches?..
  2. I have to work Monday night.. hopefully I can watch a bit of the game on my break.. it would be fun seeing them win at home..
  3. The ministry used to stock it but I highly doubt they do it anymore. Could be a pond there where they occasionally dump old breeders.. lots of poachers in the area..
  4. Paradise.. for a fisherman anyways..lol..
  5. Work, work ,work.. 3 twelves.. it truly is a long weekend..
  6. I fill a small drum with hardwood, then place it into a 55 gallon barrel and light a fire. The small drum has to have a tight fitting lid and a quarter inch hole in the top to vent the gasses. It's not unlike making coke for blast furnaces..
  7. I use lump charcoal and add more as I go, along with pieces of hickory, cherry, maple or apple.. (always without the bark though). I am going to try to make charcoal with some cherry this spring. Sugar maple is the best but finding it can be a challenge..
  8. Costco used to have good charcoal from Quebec. The last time I bought some it was from Mexico and it was crap.. sent sparks out constantly. Now I just make my own using the double barrel method..
  9. Man I wished that I lived in the north!!.. lol
  10. I have tha same machine and its always run fine.. it likes to be warm before its idles smoothly... following this because mine needs a carb rebuild after sitting for the last 3 years..
  11. In short he was issued a winter travel permit by the very same person who told the public (in a Facebook post) that snowmobiles were not allowed in the park.. she is going after him vindictively without punishment from her superiors.
  12. I have a 2.5 hp Suzuki that I paid about the same for.. liquid cooled and close to the same weight. The Honda will be a great, reliable motor for you.. my older 2 stroke Yamaha is lighter and quieter than the Suzuki but I wanted something that I could put straight gas into rather than mixing..
  13. Great prizes and a good cause but the values are inflated to the max.. I buy tickets but have never won anything..
  14. Seems these things have become more about making money than anything. I know a guy who owns a food truck and the food vendor prices are as much as $9000 for a 4 day outdoor event. I imagine it could be even higher for an indoor event.. throw in wages and health inspection costs and you have to sell a lot to make any profit..
  15. Unfortunately these shows have become unaffordable for vendors so many no longer attend. There used to be a lot of good deals but that won't cover the cost of the booth. The cannabis product booth was interesting..lol
  16. I love the fact that I can run in 2WD, AWD or 4 high.. I pretty much only need the AWD for most snow conditions and unless you take it to the extreme the AWD should be fine..
  17. Bring a small rock to smash the shell.. Yeah it gets a little ugly..
  18. Canadian tire has both food saver and seal a meal bags with seal a meal almost half the price.. They seem to work fine with my food saver..
  19. I go to the grocery store to get fresh live clams. Use a good weight to get your bait to the bottom and the flounder will find it..
  20. I will be there in August as well.. Usually when I go to Nova Scotia I fish off the wharf for flounder. I am bringing my fishing rod with me so I am also interested in places to fish at that time of year..
  21. Very cool.. I need to find a new crappie spot...
  22. Gilford has a wonderful new parking lot for $5 an hour to a maximum of $25.. Minnows are $10 a scoop.. Add gas and it's an expensive day..
  23. I have plenty of channels and unlimited data for less than $200... What I don't have is any easy access to a lake for fishing... I would trade the city conviences in a heartbeat if I could..
  24. Unfortunately lots of the old guys are gone.. I tell you, we could use some of them now to straighten out the new generation!. Those guys kept the place going didn't they.. Someone to make good coffee as well.. Not that I drink espresso but I always loved the smell!
  25. Simon is right about the privacy issue with drones.. People worry about them but they really should worry about internet security. Amazon echo or Google home in a kids bedroom?? THAT is nuts!!.... If people followed basic rules and common courtesy then we wouldn't need all these laws..
