A "flea market hat"......might be a good thing that it's been in the water many times....
-
You too Nip..... MERRY CHRISTMAS, Bob
-
We do that all the time just to screw with you C.C's....
-
Hey Nip, You would have been right 6 months back....but since then I'm down 30 lbs... And your right again (don't let your wife here that)...that is only a toy picture since I couldn't find a real one...but it's close to the real thing...only our "Steam Crane" had 3 lines where this toy version is missing the "whip line"....a very useful but dangerous lifting device. Too bad cell phones and portable video devices were not available back then....I would have a fantastic library of video showing how many thought was going to be a impossible job for our wrecking crews....one of our biggest jobs, but far from the toughest I recall is spending 3 days in Rochester because 40 empty coal cars pile up on TOP of each other....if they were loads we might be still there....LOL....still collecting OVERTIME.... Now about that Ice Resort...any finish time scheduled....at least you're getting LOTS of extra time with this kind of weather...
-
Well it's almost Christmas and we have a lot of younger anglers here, I know because....well you know. But anyways........anyone here going to pop the question or is at least thinking about popping the question to her.... Good Luck, Bob

Hey Sinclair, Any building updates for the peanut gallery here....I think FishNwire is way a head of you.... I'm anxious to see both of these huts finished and in working order... Bob

Cobourg fishing meeting with the Parks and Rec Wednesday
Billy Bob replied to Ron's topic in General Discussion
This is why I have been and always will be a proponent for LESS Government....the more government agencies you have the more the common man gets screwed 8 days to Sunday.... To be honest Ron....you need a LOT more physical support at these meeting...everyone here saying, "nice going, you have my support" means NOTHING at these meeting....."if" you can get some of these posters to actually show up and surround you while your at one of these meeting, then you will have shown these clowns you have clout and then they have to take you seriously. GOOD LUCK, Bob -
LOVE "Native Pride" as it's where I get my least expensive gasoline and good CIGARS for a reasonable price.... http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/Native_Pride_Gas_Stations/Irving/56600/index.aspx

Been there, done that....Grrrrrrrrrrr Just ONCE I would like to catch someone messing with someone else's stuff...but then I would be the one going to jail...
-
I would be VERY VERY interested on how you move this Ice Resort on and off the ice.....is it possible to video tape that procedure..... GOOD LUCK....it's looking FIRST CLASS...why I have rented cottages (that's what they called them, not my wife) that were not half as nice as your Ice Resort. Bob

WTH...that's not a leak....that's a BLOW OUT..... Good Luck with the repair....but if I were you I would start saving for a new pair. Bob

OMG......I can't ever let my wife read this....as she's always concerned when we head north to fish the Great White North every summer with my boat and or equipment... And here I always thought Canadians were the most honest people on the face of the earth...I always leave all my equipment on-board in my boat night and day....and I still have that faith in my good Canadian friends....but there is something to "out of sight, out of mind" reasoning when it comes to simple security... The only theft I have ever incurred in Ontario is my fishing spot once or twice....oh, I almost forgot...there was this Pizza Hut in North Bay (years ago) that charged me like $60 for a pizza a couple of beers and pop for the kids....now that highway robbery in my eyes... ..for $60 here I could be a co-owner of a pizza place...LOL
-
I agree with Chris.......you got this down and now just need to finish it off....stay positive and you will be fishing come spring in fresh air and brilliant sunshine. Bob

Us U.S.A. boys have the secret code and with it we have pin point accuracy...LOL The better units that have WAAS capability e.g. my Lowrance LMS 520c unit has WAAS that I can turn on and off depending on satellite signal strength....but even then you will not get 1000% dead on accuracy, unless you have the secret code....

Can't Believe This Happen... Update - Repaired!!!

ZING.... -
My father had a old saying "Figures lie and liars figure"... The point is your 28% (if your math is correct) categorizes "fire calls"... this does not mean there were actually 40,767 working fires in Toronto....if so, then Toronto would be the second most dangerous city to live in, only behind Buffalo....LOL
-
When I hire out as a kid on the RR I looked around and saw all these old guys sitting at the lunch table before I started my first day on the job. I thought to myself, my God they look so old and worn out and the day hasn't even started yet. Then 30 years later I noticed all the green horns sitting at that same table thinking they are so young, they will never make it on the railroad....LOL

I belong to the Depew Fire Department....it's the largest village in NYS... We have 6 companies with each company having a max of 40 men per company as per our department By-Laws... Now those beer are going to be Cold Canadian Beer, right ? ? ?LOL...no I'm not kidding...LOL...I am well qualified to drink beer as it was a requirement to join...LOL We average between 325-375 calls per year...we must make 10% to qualify for our Service Awards program. I would love to discuss this further....but I have a fire police meeting at 7:30pm....yes, I no longer drag hose but instead direct traffic and secure the fire scene for my fellow fire fighters....momma didn't raise no fool...I knew when it was time to let the young bucks take over...but I'm still considered a 100% fire fighter in my department and I'm still qualified to drive and run the truck if need be...but gave up my green tag a couple years back for obvious reasons. Keep it Safe, Bob
-
But how many were on duty per truck per day....I know in Buffalo (poor example) they only have 3 men on their trucks. In some areas within NYS there are paid fire fighters who drive and operate the truck with volunteers manning the truck....so it all depends on where you live and how much money you have to throw around. BTW our truck seats eight and many times it's full to capacity with more fire fighters arriving at the scene via their own vehicles....you can never have too much muscle at a working fire as I'm sure you know. Bob
-
I never thought we were arguing...just exchanging ideas and ways things are done here and there....again, professionals have a different way because they have full time men at the hall but are very limited to men because they are paid fire fighters. Our department alone has the capacity of 240 fire fighters....we are the LARGEST in the state as far as I know when it comes to volunteers....it's the reason when a neighbouring district needs mutual aid we are the first to be called because they can depend on us. BTW we NEVER lost a basement....LOL Bob
