Do you mean to make your own eggnog.....sure.......go to Sam's Club and they sell it by the half gallon for $4.38.....if you are making home made "nog" you are wasting precious eggnog drinking time...so just buy it and add your favourite booze...drink, repeat....
-
Ya gotta love Cousin Eddie..... :rofl2:
-
OK, I have to ask.....what the hell is a nog anyways....
-
We have always used whiskey but I would guess it a personal choice....vodka has no taste, rum sounds good and Jose Cuervo likes to play with anything...
-
Lew, you just gave me my LAUGH of the DAY.... Edited to say....Sorry Lew I thought you wrote "I'll be gone by this time tomorrow"

Well, it can't be a CHRISTMAS Card unless it says Merry Christmas....

Christmas Time EATING TIPS 1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas! 3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat. 4. as for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission. 5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello? 6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog. 7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again. 8. Same for pies. Apple,Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? LaborDay? 9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards. 10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Bob

Today's the first day of WINTER.....anyone going ice fishing on Lake Erie.... If I never see ice and snow again it would be too soon.... (I know I'm going to pay for this later this winter)
-
When I'm not fishing I'm thinking about fishing....(oops...did I say that out loud) All fishermen (bosses) are liars, except you and me, and I have my doubts about you (boss).....(again, did I say that out loud)... Do you know anyone hiring around here.....

That's why I said think "tractor trailer"....it doesn't happen to them and it didn't happen to me in over 6000 miles of high speed highway travelling.
-
I really can't see the problem "IF" the tow vehicle and or trailer has sufficient braking power....I towed a 3k pop up trailer with a Ford Escape without a problem on a trip out west that include Ontario, 17 states and crossed the continental divide twice that endured 6,500 miles in 30 days, 100% trouble free....think tractor trailer for one moment.

It's actually better with a real cold winter as many areas will form ice...but either way you'll enjoy it....maybe not so much if it's raining...AGAIN...

Towing your boat....

Snowball, thanks for sharing what looks like another great adult beverage to try.... Since I have had a several PM's regarding my Candy Whiskey and shrimp recipe, I thought I would show you what the Candy Whiskey looks like when made...don't have any pics of the shrimp as it's gone to fast to take any pictures...LOL And PLEASE don't drink and drive... MERRY CHRISTMAS, Bob

That is NOT a "Farm" report I want to hear....

I agree a 16' boat will be too small for a family of five so your stuck between a rock and a hard place. Lota lota's advice is probably the best but I would look into a boat slip on a inland lake with those little guys....forget the Great Lakes for now and enjoy the precious moments you have with them little guys in a 18' boat or larger on some small lake...then down the line you may afford a larger SUV/Truck to move that boat to the Great Lake or wherever the fish may be biting. I use to fish the lower Niagara quite often this time of the year and the best I can tell from the picture above, the water color is not bad at all.... actually we did better with some stain in the water...too clear was just as bad as too muddy. I don't think there is a better waterway around then the lower Niagara river when it comes to salmon/trout, especially during the winter months. However, it is a VERY dangerous place to fish, so always be careful from shore or in the boat. Bob

A .22 long rifle will dispatch the possum problem with a LOT less noise if your concerned with how loud the muzzle report will be. Wild animals are never a good thing close the house. Bob
