  1. can't get out Saturday, but will be out from Wed to Saturday the next week for my 3rd annual musky trip. Will probably fish anywhere from 3 to 5 different lakes depending on how we are doing. First year caught 6 from 3 lakes, last year was 7 from 4 lakes, here's hoping for 8 this year!
  2. that was great! could have picked him up out of the water I bet
  3. oooo shear pin sounds like a good idea (had the same problem with my snowblower after going through a heavy load)
  4. I know nothing about LA, but after seeing them in the first round they became my choice...not gonna change my mind now.
  5. hope all went well! I have the same problem everytime I go fishing...can't sleep. I guess its a good thing I only get out 10 times a year!
  6. you're right, missed that part. Don't think you'd get over 20 mph either with a spun hub
  7. I don't know what you mean by "blowing out" but I spun the hub in my prop a few years back. Once I got to a certain speed the motor would just scream and I wouldn't go any faster.
  8. Used to watch until the episode he was chasing a 10 foot pike. I know its entertainment but he lost all credibility at that moment.
  9. hahaha to the first response (not the turtles). I can relate...my in-laws can fight like that and are twice as ugly
  10. give Roger's Bay a shot for me will you Lew?
  11. do you think they released it (again) after that?
  12. dang right get rid of the sailboat! Great report, lots of smiling faces. Still trying to get my kids into fishing.
  13. Ditto on a pain in the but to deploy. I had a powerdrive on my other boat and it was fine, bought another one a few years ago and they must have changed something. This new one is a real pain to deploy and get back into locked position. The price is right for a powerdrive but I would suggest if you have the $ get something better. I am no longer impressed by the Powerdive. Sometimes mine doesn't lock into place either when I deploy it, so I get it in the water, turn it on and the shaft comes kicking up out of the water, prop spinning, water shooting everywhere.
  14. they've been looking like a team of destiny since the first round
  15. ants are going to take over the world!
  16. never had a tick and hope not to start! I've got a few family members though who's kids get them regularly
  17. Thanks to all those who offered guidance on my fuse/bilge problem. Took the bilge apart tonight, once I got the motor off the base she hummed nicely. Put it back together. Nothing. Do this 3 times. Blow through it. Nothing. Finally found a small piece of plastic lodged way down in there. Took it out and she worked like a charm! Go to mount it on the base again and can't seem to mount the thing...turns out the little piece of plastic that was jammed in there was a mounting tab that had broken off! Oh well, boat stays indoors so only need the bilge on those rare rainy fishing days anyways. Its not mounted on the base anymore but I'm sure if I put a bag of sand on it it would stay put (not a lot of space down there anyways).
  18. thanks guys. I'll try and take it apart tonight after work to see if I can get the impeller to spin.
  19. So I turned the bilge on which promptly blew the fuse. Replaced fuse and bilge is still doing nothing. Light comes on at the dashboard so there is at least power there (and the other fuse I talked about earlier is between the battery and the dashboard, so it is obviously ok too). The bilge isn't humming or anything. Is it possible I sucked something up and that fried it? What about the fact there is no humming, would that be consistent with getting something jammed in there? Finally, how easy is it to unhook one of these things and replace it (or take it apart to see if its got something stuck). Looks pretty awkward and tight down there, any advice before I tackle this would be appreciated!
  20. That's why I'm wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree - ie that fuse is fine so don't even pull it apart. Here's a thought...gonna hook up just that red and black (there are 2 red wires and 2 blacks on the battery) and see what works!
  21. you got it drifter! So just yank her apart eh? Don't need to line anything up?
  22. Put the bilge pump on in the boat, it made a quick noise and then shut off. I checked the fuse in the dashboard and it had blown. Swapped it with another in the panel, still not working (although the little green light on the dash did come on, the pump did nothing). Checked down by the battery, one of the red lines has what appears to be an inline fuse (plastic yellow capsule). I tried the old push, twist, then open for about 5 minutes in the sweltering heat...then was too sweaty to get a grip on it. Funny thing is, it would push, and twist, but wouldn't open. Any thoughts? Could this fuse even be the problem (ie why would there be 2 fuses for the same thing?).
  23. watched it again...more like 7 feet high or more depending on how big that boat is!
  24. ya I missed it too. Man those salt water fish can jump. Thing had to be 5 feet high and 15 feet distance. Guy reeling it in wasn't even paying attention at first that it was running at the boat
  25. for a reasonable price (350.00 approx) you could grab a shimano compre and an abu Record. This is one of my set-ups and I am very happy with it
