  1. oh, there's a thought...maybe I should take the pin back out and try and tighten it a few more revolutions...see if it gets tight then
  2. Thanks Cliff. Hopefully its the same thing. Its not like I really torqued the thing, was just giving it a bit extra "oomph".
  3. ouch...I might suggest cutting back on the fishing a bit for her sake (and spending a night or 2 in a proper bed). Its great to find a woman who likes to fish, but the sleeping in the truck and being on the water 12 hours a day might be pushing it...especially when there are friends back on shore. Just my opinion (based on experience though
  4. I thought everyone who rents those things just park on the back side of big island (pigeon)...made me wonder if they charge you mileage on those things! Have a great trip wherever you go.
  5. Was putting my prop back on tonight, It seemed to be tightening up well, but then when I went for that extra quarter turn on the prop nut, it actually got looser (like I had stripped it). Is it possible to strip something like that? I could see the hole for the cotter pin, so I did put it in and the prop seems reasonably snug, just don't know what happened there? Everything fine or did I just ruin my fishing for tomorrow? I had the motor in gear while I was turning it if this means anything.
  6. nice job. I hear you about those pesky walleye. As soon as I start throwing baits 9 inches in length or more here come the dang walleye.
  7. personally I would go Mitchell. Lots of pike and you might get a musky or 2 as well. I've never caught a musky in Canal (having said that, I've only fished it a couple of times and was after pike)
  8. credit river must have something in it

    Musky net

Best of both worlds, beauty idea.
  10. great report! Thanks for taking the time to post it.
  11. I had a similar problem with my outboard - was a "linkage" problem so I was told. Of course it happened to me when I was at the absolute furthest point away on the lake and it was just starting to get dark. Lots of paddling along the shoreline that night! Was only like $50 to repair so obviously its a pretty minor thing
  12. 2 days ago we pulled out from our island campsite which faced the south, took one cast south, then turned to take a cast north...to see the major storm basically on us already. Turned back around and boated right back 100 feet to the site. So I guess that was around 30 seconds. Got skunked to boot.
  13. ...good point. I average a 7 minute lunch and often don't get that until around 2 p.m.!
  14. man I wish I lived that close to musky fishing!
  15. most expensive fish catch ever!
  16. We spent a couple of days at Pigeon this week and it was S L O W in my opinion. Thunderstorms both days we were there made conditions pretty tough for us. Managed a small one and one 38.5". Both came in 5 f.o.w., had not luck anywhere deeper although we did try
  17. showed that video to my kids, now they refuse to go swimming and they keep asking "What did that guy say?". Cool video!
  18. good stuff! I was beginning to think nobody got out (I know I didn't)
  19. for a second I thought that was just for rod storage while you were not fishing, and thought that was a bad idea. Then I realized it was for trolling - really bad idea. As many have said, a musky would make that go bye bye. It would never come to that, just the pull from trolling a musky lure would make that go bye bye
  20. sledge, big white spinnerbait, and a big storm crankbait - cheap bait but swims like a bugger goes over 8 mph no problem
  21. 2 good fish over 2 days, sounds pretty good to me
  22. you call that a month? That's a good year for me!
  23. Crane lake/Blackstone are pretty much it around Parry Sound as far as inland lakes. Musky fishing is pretty tough from what I hear. What about heading north a bit? I would fish the Magnetewan river at Britt. Might even be closer for you than going to Crane!
  24. could it be Bond Lake? Been years since I was there, at that time access was private but we had permission
  25. sorry bud, got nothing for you but at least I'm bumping you back to the top. I think that lake is part of the 6 mile - mcrae etc canoe route. If that's the case, expect a lot of canoers squatting wherever they can find a patch of dirt for their tent!
