  1. Well done Emil. Did you actually catch a laker ...or where they landed by someone else I'm glad the fish co-operated, and thx for sharing.
  2. My "Whine about the wife on an open forum" filter doesn't seem to be working. Any of you MODS have a patch for me to fix that
  3. Well done Bruce. Looks like the sink in your new place is going to see just as many fish as your last residence. Thx for sharing and enjoy the fish fry.
  4. Your my friend Cliff so I wanted to say something meaningful and nice. I could not possible do better then what Roy had to say. Thank you Roy for that. Cliff you have known a great person. Honor her memory by keeping her in your heart. She sounds like a keeper
  5. Not trying to start anything here...but to me there is no difference whatsoever between fishing them in gin clear 3 ft deep water or water that is the same depth or deeper but is stained. You know where they are, you know what baits to use and you drift it in front of them. Condition may vary a little but the technique is pretty much the same. Trib fishing has never been about sport. You are hunting the fish when they are there most vulnerable and predictable. Hey I do it too. I would just never call trib fishing sporty. Back to the original post now. I think things are fine as far as the openers go. The weather changes every year. That is what keeps it interesting IMHO.
  6. I will look forward to another Stanley cup thread from you on the subject if it does indeed play out that way Your totally unbiased thread last year was entertaining. My son is a big Crosby fan so I tend to support the PENS. But I don't have a team to call my own. Not sure who will come out on top this year. But from watching the PENS series I really don't think they have the D to repeat. Ottawa though severely outplayed still got too many chances IMHO. Playoff hockey is all about strong D and strong goaltending.
  7. Great looking day to be out. A multi species report too Is that little guy an ATLANTIC
  8. I agree 100%. Coaches corner for me is pee break, snack break or beverage break. And I make sure it is over before I return to the TV. Cole too. I can't believe the number of mistakes he makes. Both icons of our great game. But both should be put out to pasture. I hope that if I ever get to that stage of embarrassing myself, Debbe takes me aside and says "Honey its time to let the kids take over the reins".
  9. My first channels....another species off my bucket list Had a GREAT day. Steve worked to put us on fish...moving 3 times and trying several bait combinations to try and find the "magic bullet" Always a pleasure getting out with you Cliff and nice to meet Josie..sp? and John. Steve's deck hands carved up the smaller cats we kept in record time.Cliff, I hope your cat jerky turns out for you. I wholeheartedly volunteer to be a taste tester Steve you are in a nice area and run a good business. I wish you every success. Good day and great company. A well spent Friday off work. Thx all for a good day on the water.
  10. Lake X has every species of fish found in Ontario in it.
  11. On another board your saying the crappie are in full swing on Dalrymple and on here your asking for people to spoon feed you . What's up with that?
  12. Packing/Unpacking is never fun. But new digs on the water....good on you. Git er dun and then relax.
  13. Word for word...exactly what I thought.
  14. Your a good man Phil, but you know I was just messin with you. Half the fun is finding them yourself. Our little Lucas for sure is THE crap master now....totally disgusting and not fishing related however. But grandpa has one hard and fast rule...he doesn't do diapers EVER. And so far it's working.
  15. So next summer when my grandson turns 3 and I plan to get him hooked you will help me too . I hear GPS co-ordinates to productive waters are especially helpfull in raising a child through those difficult years
  16. Nice!!! Save some for the 16th though. Looking forward to my first big kittie.
  17. That's what I wanna hear. Hopefully everyone will see through the smoke and mirrors of the RLTA propaganda. Like already mentioned...if they took a fraction of there energy and resources and put it into embracing this new change...can you imagine how much better off they would be.
  18. Well done. I'm loving this early crappie action. I see your using the lunker city jigheads with your new deadly bait. If there is a better quality jig head out there in 1/32 and 1/16 ounce size I haven't found it.
  19. Seems I remember him trying to chow down on Cliff's smelt when we where down this winter with you Bruce Don't you feed the poor little guy
  20. I agree with that statement 100%.
  21. Myself and everyone I fish with have always referred to Scugog as the "bog" or "Scubog" and it was a given that it was referring to the whole lake. So in my eyes he did in fact say fishing was hot on Scugog and was not being location specific. And for the record. I fished the bog Thursday and Saturday. And did good. I even got a nice 3.5-4LB largie yesterday. I was considering posting a picture JUST to give a few people who have there panties on too tight and nothing better to do, something to whizz and moan about
  22. You know i was just messin with you Cliff. The fish are just off the dock somewhere....everyday. But how many days are friends and family so close? Good on you for spending the time....the right way. One question though? Who won the mud fight?
  23. Nice pics of the kids and the "cooler o slabs". Sounds like an awesome day. Heading out the door at 9 for Scugog to try and find some slabs ourselves. Thx for sharing your day Shayne. I never get tired of seeing Jacob smiling and holding up fish for a picture.
  24. Playing in the mud instead of crappie fishing It's sound like fun Cliff...but you gotta get your priorities straight man. Sounds like you need an intervention. Happy Easter to you and yours.
  25. Yep...2 more sleeps...can't wait. I'm thinking of hitting the local crappie spot...wink, wink on the way home from work tomorrow. Throw your stuff in the van and join me if you can swing it. I'll save you a spot over beside the boat launch on the lawn.
