  1. Well done. I'm loving this early crappie action. I see your using the lunker city jigheads with your new deadly bait. If there is a better quality jig head out there in 1/32 and 1/16 ounce size I haven't found it.
  2. Seems I remember him trying to chow down on Cliff's smelt when we where down this winter with you Bruce Don't you feed the poor little guy
  3. Myself and everyone I fish with have always referred to Scugog as the "bog" or "Scubog" and it was a given that it was referring to the whole lake. So in my eyes he did in fact say fishing was hot on Scugog and was not being location specific. And for the record. I fished the bog Thursday and Saturday. And did good. I even got a nice 3.5-4LB largie yesterday. I was considering posting a picture JUST to give a few people who have there panties on too tight and nothing better to do, something to whizz and moan about
  4. You know i was just messin with you Cliff. The fish are just off the dock somewhere....everyday. But how many days are friends and family so close? Good on you for spending the time....the right way. One question though? Who won the mud fight?
  5. Nice pics of the kids and the "cooler o slabs". Sounds like an awesome day. Heading out the door at 9 for Scugog to try and find some slabs ourselves. Thx for sharing your day Shayne. I never get tired of seeing Jacob smiling and holding up fish for a picture.
  6. Playing in the mud instead of crappie fishing It's sound like fun Cliff...but you gotta get your priorities straight man. Sounds like you need an intervention. Happy Easter to you and yours.
  7. Yep...2 more sleeps...can't wait. I'm thinking of hitting the local crappie spot...wink, wink on the way home from work tomorrow. Throw your stuff in the van and join me if you can swing it. I'll save you a spot over beside the boat launch on the lawn.
  8. Good to hear Mike. It wasn't clear in your post. I was just trying to imagine my old man with a pin...kinda made me throw up in my mouth a little bit
  9. Thx for that tb4me. We have a nest just down from our place in Bobcaygeon. Mornings and evenings I walk over with a coffee or glass of wine and have a good chat with them. Beansie and I chat with them at another nest near our carp spot as well. Can't wait to get back up there!!!
  10. Great report Mike. Always glad to see the pictures you and others take of there adventures. By any chance did you just let your old man give it a go with just a spinning reel? I ask because my dad has a buggered up hand from umping baseball. He got spiked on a slide at home plate and it has never been the same and the cold really bothers it.When we go perch fishing in the fall he has the gloves on all weekend. He can manage with one of my old reels with a BIG BLOCKY knob. It isn't pretty...but he comes back for more every fall so I know he is enjoying himself. Maybe a 1300 Whisker would be the ticket for your dad when you get him out for chrome again.
  11. Eyes, Houseboats and bikini's....that's a true Kawartha post right there. Just need my morning coffee and a picture of an Osprey nest with a few heads peeking out and I'll feel right at home! Oh and thx for the walleye tip. If I decide this summer to give the carp a break I might just give it a go
  12. Congrats man!!! Fishing in the back yard...you lucky son of a gun. I haven't fished St John in years and have only ice fished it, but I always wanted to have a boo at it in the summer sometime. I always thought it was a nice looking little lake. Post some pics when you have a lawn chair set up at the edge of the lake and your sippin a beer and setting the hook
  13. Get er done Jack. Lookin forward to seeing both you old farts ... and telling fish tales.
  14. By the look of things I'd say you got yourself a fishing partner for life. Congrats to both of you.
  15. It won't be long beansie. Get your crappie gear ready to go!!!
  16. I know your a fan Bill. I have owned a 86 , 98 and 2002 golf. Was a big fan of VW....BUT...every model I have owned has got more expensive and had more issues then the previous one. I will not be buying another VW. The price combined with the fact that they are not the same as they where will have me looking elsewhere next time.
  17. Another year on the green side of the lawn, good for you old man Enjoy the day.
  18. To each there own. If this becomes a pay site it's been fun, but I'll be gone.
  19. I grabbed one for the cottage a couple of years ago. I think they do the same sale every year. Can't go wrong for the price.
  20. Good luck at getting 2 more to join in on the fun. If my plate wasn't so full I'd be all over it myself. Biggest cat I have ever caught was about 3-4LBS from the Moon river a while back. It fought like a demon and ever since then some real big cats have been on my fishing "Bucket List"
  21. They lived on Simcoe for over ten years and can tell that frozen perch in a bucket came from there just by looking at them That is the absolute biggest line of crap I think I have ever heard. I've fished perch pretty much everywhere in this province. And they all look the same. There is no difference whatsover in a Simcoe or Kawartha perch. If I knew who spouted that line of crap I'd absolutely never EVER believe another word that ever came out of there mouth from that point on.
  22. Stopped doing the sports shows at least 10 years ago. They are all shadows of what they once where. I'd rather spend my day off fishing.
  23. Yep and I have a bag or 2....but I can't buy a fish on them. The man has the touch...that's all I can say. Some fishermen catch fish cause they put in the time....that's me. Some catch fish cause they just know. Buckster is in that group. PS Tony...I love you like a brother...but I hate you too...lol.
