Which Ice Armour suit to you have Brian? The blue black one? That's the one I have and it isn't warm at all. On a cold day I will have a long sleeve T-shirt a polar fleece turtle neck sweater and a hoodie on under mine and I will still get cold hiding in my unheated fish trap hut.

Marco Muzzo Trial Predictions --- N.F.
crappieperchhunter replied to npt1's topic in General Discussion
Yes Wayne...way way different times. However the troubling thing I see now is parents not being parents...but rather Best friends. Your kid screws up. So instead of teaching them right from wrong you forgive them and excuse there behaviour. What the hell have there learned about consequence from that? I was charged with impaired at 17. Took me to a jail in Guelph and called my folks. My old man said I will come and get him in the morning. Spent the night in jail listening to a hard core drunk puking up his guts in the 5X10 cell next to me. Contemplated suicide rather then facing my folks in the morning. But they are smart. When they threw me in the cell they made me take my belt AND my shoes/shoe laces off. It was HARSH...really HARSH for a 17 year old...but I learned. Perhaps I scared the crap out of my kids by sharing that experience with them. Put I'm sure glad i did. I can't comment on the Muzzo family. I can only look at it through the eyes of my own life experiences and wish it had turned out better for everyone involved. -

Some...or most..yes I will not disagree. The treatment my brothers leeches get makes me puke. However my son moved out at the tender age of 21...never took a dime from Mom and Dad that wasn't to be paid back. Put himself through college and bought a house while working PT and going to school full time. And still calls a cab on his own dime if he decides to come over after work...we are within walking distance of his branch at work... and share a few bottles of wine with mom and dad when his significant other is working until 11PM and a go train ride away in Yorkdale. And BTW he is 26 an still doesn't own his first vehicle. Far cry from my days at that age. I wish I was the man he is today back when I was that age. -

Yes todays kids are a million times more responsible then my generation was. Throw a box of beer in the back seat of the car and away we go!!!! Drinking and driving was pretty much an every weekend practice from age 16-21 when I was growing up. My daughter rarely drinks and I've never seen her drunk. My son will bend elbow's to excess but will phone a cab or a none drinking friend....EVERY TIME. Much more responsible then I was at that age. Must have something to do with his mother's parenting skills. -

At the cottage in Bobcaygeon....80 minutes away...fishing pretty much every weekend from May until October.
-
That sucks my friend. Keep your eyes open and keep putting out the word and something good will come up. Your due for a good break.
-
Sounds like a good road trip Cliff. Enjoy the fish fry.

Same here for your original first posting of pictures. Hope you can reshare them somehow. Would love to see them all.

I know you are probably joking...but... I have dealt with the HH in Bobcaygeon for many things, most recently an outdoor wood burning stove. Called them on a Monday from my home here in Oshawa after finding the item on their website. They had NONE in store...but said they would get it for me. They had it waiting for me in there store, fully assembled, at no extra cost... when I came up the following weekend. Not all stores or people are created equal. If your serious give the caygeon store a call. My experience is they will go that extra mile to help you out.

Was thinking exactly the same thing. My father in-law had a saying when it came to interviewing for a job. He would say "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys and I have never been someone's Monkey" I had to take him at his word that he used this line as I was never at a job interview of his. I can however say with 100% certainty that he was successful and knowing his personality I could hear him saying the words. IMHO the CEO salary was low for the position. Those type of jobs and the work they require...well... that's just the way it is.

I can't comment on Goodwill as I never go...but I used to frequent the Value Villages in Oshawa and Whitby. It has really changed in the last 5 years. Still some really good deals to be sure but the pricing has really skyrocketed. Yesterday for example Debbe and I where in Value Village because we had a $10 gift voucher that Santa had put in my stocking at Christmas. Debbe ended up browsing through the women clothing while we where in there. Then we where off to Costco. At Costco she saw some jeans she really liked for $15. Grabbed a pair to try on at home. Got home and loved them. She then told me lots of the women jeans in Value Village where $20...and this is all used stuff donated for free. Something wrong with that picture right there.

Sorry to hear this news Beansie. Pets... especially dogs... really are family. -
Happy B-day Cliff. I hope Sue spoils you.

A good education only gives you a better opportunity to make more money. The rest is up to you. I agree with what you and Bill are saying, however not everybody can do that dance for various reasons. I just find it unfortunate that the developed world in general is throwing the middle class under the bus. And please don't take this as a rah rah union rant because it's not.

The article says the bridge opened Nov 29 2015 and broke apart January 10 2016 . So a total of 42 days in operation. I'm thinking some engineers have some serious explaining to do

My brother quit and started up again 3 times before he actually beat it. He hasn't smoked for nearly 25 years now. Keep at it. You will be glad you did.

From a guy who is watching his father fade away with COPD all I can say is well done!!! You have dodged a very very undesirable bullet.
-
Good job I was going to join a buddy on Cooch today but backed out because I didn't like the forecast or the current ice thickness. Next weekend for sure. And I know that nervous feeling coming in from a days fishing on iffy ice. I hope to never experience it again. But man I'm still jealous. Enjoy your fish fry.
