  1. stay there until spring. -30 is not your style. Yes it may be 6 or so this week but it’s been brutal. buy a place and STAY my paisano.
  2. Holi, I worked on Santa Claus set for the kid’s Christmas party pictures at work. My partner was a Jew, she loves it, her quote “she can’t do it at home” we had a blast doing it and she gave me pointers for my home. She is a prop designer in our studio and the sister of a famous Canadian designer!
  3. She is only going for a week, she will come back for sure, she has two of our best with her. last year she didn’t make it because of a medical issue. Big $ gone. Brian I’m hope that I can get out once this year, but NOT this month. !!!
  4. Unless those sissies go for the entire winter, they have to come back. I’m putting my better half on a plane to Orlando/cruise on the 18th with two of our grands and their parents.
  5. Go buy some grape juice $36–$52 for 21 L, Let it ferment for 30 days/rack and wait for another 30 and call it anything you want! $1.71–$2.47/L.
  6. I'm a type guy and like old type, this is part of my collection that I built
  7. happy New Year to all. Nice dinner with family and expecting the kids and their kids at 4 today! The lamb will be done in the oven this year!
  8. Brian is taking you testing tomorrow! walk 20 feet behind him.
  9. Not to worry B when you seen one Itie, you’ve seen them all.
  10. They may be under a different name!!!! I had the best homemade bread last Sunday. (Calabrese) The man is a millionaire and makes his own bread. Sooo good . Hopefully he teaches our new grandson how it’s done.
  11. Can’t go without lamb at Christmas/New Year. I got my fresh Ontario half for $6.99 lb. just vac packed it and we are good to BBQ New Year’s Day! Considering, the price is good. 10years ago it was $4.00 or so. Fresh rosemary pot in the garage ready for the marinade.
  12. Not only Loblaws but look at our gas companies. How do they know that the price of gas will go up or down at midnight? We are a bend over society, they know we need it! I went to a Loblaw company to buy fresh Ontaio lamb at $6.99. It was a zoo. They could have charged $10.00 and still sold it all.
  13. OI Pusitaris is a high end food store in TO they have two locations. I knew the founder when H was on St Clair. He had worked loading trucks at the food terminal and then started his own store. The kids moved I t high end. Their cheese is so expensive it is kept locked up I’ve heard. Where the store is located the people don’t worry about money they have a lot of it. A friend of mine had a meat store in the same area and he never put a price tag on his meats. He had nothing but the best. I also heard Mel Lastman’s wife would bring pots to a restaurant and have them filled and take them home for dinner!!!!
  14. I have two with me this evening, they are a handful.
  15. ART will kil this soon! Brian go fishing until the air clears.
  16. Aurora hot eggplants For $2,99 I use them when I run out. With prosciutto in a chibatta bun is to die for. IF we go back in time and start preserving like out Native and European friends it would make us better, we could swap items and learn new things. Brian did you ever have Lupini beans? Or tender celery stalk dipped in Olive oil with crushed black pepper? Roasted chestnuts with red wine, a Torrone at Christmas? I will start my dried lupini tomorrow., takes a week to be ready for Christmas. I watch a lot of cooking programs and one I liked was Michael Smith chef at large. he did a program in northern Ontario and in Native hut they roasted a beaver! The hostess offered him a taste and as he quoted “I have never eaten beaver” Let’s cook/eat what we want and do not waste anything. We are fortunate in Canada that we can choose.
  17. Was out there looking for lamb! Too lateI talians are brutal at this time of year and Easter for lamb. Brian making that pantry is a lot of work but worth it. Today I had a some olives we were given, Holi they were amazing, my next trick in October. A jar of eggplants is 3.99 we make it for .$1.00 but a lot of work. You have been there!!! The wife has the key! Not really!
  18. Those are Australian or New Zealand , taste like ? I bought a leg once and it was terrible. They tend to be older. The Fortinos lamb average about 25-30 lbs skinned and gutted. Ontario grown. I only buy half. For the BBQ.
  19. Ok guys bring on food stuff. I had rabbit Monday done in a white wine sauce and rosemary.. Rabiit meat is amazing. Eating rabbit and nothing else will kill you I have heard. NO fat.
  20. New things for us old guys are bad lol. We are new immigrants, 1960. My grandfather 1906 but then they were sent packing not like today. I keep old traditions, we make tomatoes, supresata and other winter things. My girls and their family don’t take to it (only the tomatoes) They are well off and never needed to have. Hopefully they will never need the knowledge. My dad could get a fresh egg under a chicken tap a hole top and bottom and drink it for breakfast, today this would be insane. Lest not forget where we came from. I have been doing Tourism for the last 25 years and know more about Ontairo that any elected person. I one told a woman When getting a passport that I filled out the wrong form. I have been in Canada ore that the PM she asked me to leave and fill out the right form.
  21. OI WE are family. My four girls and family come as they please. Yes there are differences but we have been close with all of our families. I have one brother and we are very close, the way it should be. This is off the cooking trade and my apologies please. Us Italians are a debate society. PM me.
