  1. Yep, light boat. All you can do is what you did. Trim down, and find the sweet speed where your not getting pounded too hard, and not taking on water. S.
  2. Yes, check the linkage first for sure. Mine came loose on me once before and I lost reverse gear altogether.....quick adjustment and I was back in action. S.
  3. The only kawartha pike your going to get are in balsam/canal/mitchell......for the most part anyways. S.
  4. Maybe a clutch dog slipping? That would make it slip out of gear.... I use the mechanic in bewdley beside BJ's Bait and Tackle. Good guy, fair price, and he does great work. MD Marine. 905 767 3777. His name is Doug. S.
  5. As long as its orange and black, it really doesn't matter S.
  6. Congrats on the new PB! LOL I caught one about that size thru the ice this winter. The perch seem to like them......and the lakers and whities too. S.
  7. Post a pic of the wood and maybe we can ID it. Willow is always wet. It will dry over time though. Split it small, and let it dry in the wind/sun....it'll burn, but its not great for heating. S.
  8. Call a sign shop and get a price on sign board. Its almost the same as marine grade plywood. Basically good quality plywood, with a different glue that resists water. I used PT in mine. S.
  9. No, its none of my business. I just notice when kids arent wearing them. Again, thanks for the report. Bren is a lucky kid to experience that kind of trip! S.
  10. Awesome report! Looks like a great place! I hate to be a bummer, but I never see a life jacket on your son.....? S.
  11. First thing you should do is install a shut off valve. Typical subdivision house. Cheap out every way possible. From the shut off, solder on your threads for flex lines. S.
  12. That sums up my thoughts quite nicely. Im glad the family finally has closure. They didnt give up hope all those years. Ii followed it from the start. S.
  13. Ditto. I also have a head lamp, a flashlight, and the silly little light in the orange can....on top of running lights. S.
  14. I've never had a bad experience either, but that silly little orange piss bucket isn't going to help anyone in an emergency. If the law actually required you to have USEFUL equipment, I wouldn't have a problem. I have enough safety gear for 3 boats in mine, and enough lights to light up half an acre. The orange piss can is the last thing I would reach for in an emergency! S.
  15. It may seem like more expense and work to tear things up and do it right from the outside, but once you put the work into the basement, and it all gets wet again, you will be kicking yourself in the butt. S.
  16. They're thick here right now. Yikes!! S.
  17. It will drop rpms, and increase speed. Prop pitch is basically inches of boat travel per turn of prop. 12 pitch, 12" per turn......something like that anyways. You were over propped with the original, now slightly under propped. 12P should be the sweet spot. S.
  18. If you can't back up a trailer, try moving your purse out of the way. I mean come on, we need a truck to back up our trailer now?? This planet is going to hell fast. S.
  19. OSB is like a sponge when it gets wet. S.
  20. I do. Lets get 'em! I would LOVE to try it! S.
  21. That mariner might be a yamaha. Check and see where it was built. If its made in japan, its yammy built. You may be a couple years too late, im not positive. If not yammy, its mercury built. Great motor regardless. S.
  22. Carp are going like crazy, you have that bow yet? Could of nailed them last weekend!! S.
  23. Whats the height of the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the hull? S.
  24. I havent tried sturg for walleyes yet, but the crappie fishin sucked this year for me! Crappie fishing in general was not good at all for me. The walleyes have been good so far though, I cant complain. S.
