I was thinking the same thing lol As for launching, dont put the trailer too far in the water when loading the boat back on. Thats the #1 mistake I see people make at the boat launch. Getting her in the water shouldnt be too bad, but listen to Waynes advice for sure! Good luck, have fun! S.

I like the offshores myself. Ive ran med spinning rods off them for spring lakers with no problem. They work good, and have the best release IMO. S.

Funny, I use to take extra special care of my power drive foot pedals. Kept it dry, stored inside etc, but still always had to replace them every year or two. The last one I got has been sitting on the floor of my boat for 2 seasons now. I even left it in there all winter. I hooked my batteries up this spring, and she works like a charm. Lucky?? Probably.....but funny you mentioned that lol....I'm sure I just jinxed myself and it will never work again now LOL S.

Make sure you lock the spare on it. I took my tire holder off the trailer after some ass stole my tire, now I toss it in the boat while trailering, and in my vehicle at the launch.

Made some river floats. (Test results added)

Bluegill, I make my own slip floats VERY similar to yours. I use them mostly thru the ice. One thing I like to do is use a small snap on the bottoms, instead of (what looks like) the wire you use. The snap makes them removeable, so I can take them on/off as I please. Comes in handy a lot. I always have a bobber stop on my rigs, just in case I need it, and often find myself using the stop to mark depths, especially suspending fish like crappies and lakers, where the fish are. Works pretty slick. S. -
Lol....

In our haliburton lake, if you want big smallies, target them at the thermocline. That's where they live. S.

Yep, keep on knocking. The last 2 weeks of the season are sometimes the best! You have to start somewhere. Have you checked out my forest?? S.

They get along fine. Why wouldnt they? S.

I'm sure there was a lot of money from the atlantic program put towards habitat and stream rehab in the rivers the atlantics were stocked in. A lot more than would have been done without it i believe. I'm not for or against the atlantic program, but the money is going somewhere, and if stream rehab is a result of the program, I'm all for it. Whether the atlantics take off or not is a whole different story. It will take many years to see anything, that's for sure. S. S.

Yep, so you need 2 new 12V Deep cycle batteries. As big as you can fit in your storage area. They're probably DC27, or DC31 size battteries, but check and make sure......they could be DC24's. S.

To get 24v, you would most likely have 2 12v batteries wired in series. The costco in PTBO usually has a good supply of deep cycles, but I get mine from kawartha battery for cheaper, and they are really nice people to deal with. If you bring your boat with you, they will even install them free of charge. They are magnacharge batteries, and work great for me, and the price is right. I think I paid $130 for a 31 series deep cycle there the last time I was in. S.

IF these guys were asses, they would have let her have it. This woman is the ass. I hear ya though, seen many hunters I'd like to put in cement boots. S.

Yes, id say the old lights should be the bigger concern over the extension cord. S.

Id rather have her show up than be held at gunpoint by a swat team!! True story!! Even the authorities dont know all the rules sometimes. Most people thing guns=bad! S.

If you have a south facing slope, set up some lines. Its the best way to go. I have the slope, but its facing the wrong way, and my lines kept freezing up, so the buckets were the best way to go. It wasn't a great run this year, but we have no control over it, and its always interesting. S.

Thiss system iis controlled by dams. They knew in march there was no snow pack to melt, but still left the logs out of the dams. Hopefully the rains do the trick. I understand its a tricky job, but after working in water resources, its not hard to figure out. These guys have LOTS of resources when it comes to calculating run off and melt. The only irradical is weather, and I understand its unpredictable, but why is it they seem to screw this up EVERY year??? I will admit, it could be worse. Flooding is never good, and neither is releasing water to leave fish spawn high and dry. I guess we'll see if they can open the locks by May 15th. S.

It happens from time to time. All you can do is call the cops, but that just takes up more time, so I just let the freaks say their thing, and laugh as they leave. Pure ignorance right there. S.

So, who let all the water out if it wasnt Parks Canada?? S.
-
Well, being nice folks is no excuse, sorry. The conditions we had this spring were VERY easy to predict. No rain in the forcast, and below normal snow pack....it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Someone was sleeping at the switch. S.

Options/opinions for slowing troll speed

I wouldnt mess with the idle. Try the bowmount trick. It works mint.....as long as its a power drive or similar. Cable drive wont work. S.
