Yep, BJ's is your only option that I know of for minnows, or bring a minnow trap and put it in one of the small creeks along the way. I live 5 mins from the otonabee and never fish it lol S.

The kirklands at costco are also johnson controls. S.

Yep, what he said ^ Its silly that there is not a great bait and tackle shop in PTBO. Its pretty much the heart of the kawartha's. If you tell us where abouts you will be staying, I could maybe offer more info on bait shops. The one Matt mentioned in PTBO on lansdowne is closed down. If your in the lindsay/bobcaygeon area there is Kawartha Bait and Tackle in Lindsay, and Marks Worm warehouse just south of bobcaygeon. Both good shops. S.

It would help if you knew what RPM's you were running. A buddy at work had a similar issue with a 25 merc 4 stroke. Boat wouldn't plane, and lack of power. Turned out it was his prop.....over propped. Try the seaafoam though, and I would try it with a new fuel line as well. I had one do something similar on mine, and it was the fuel line. It was eaten up by the ethanol in the fuel. The line looked fine, and seemed to work fine, but after replacing it and having a look at the inside, it was all gunked up with crud and hardly any fuel was getting by. S.

I'm on my 3rd season with a pair of them Bill. No issues. They have tons of power. S.

I wish I could get 8 years out of a battery!! Even 5 years would make me happy. I just fish too much for batteries to last that long, and yes, I charge them every time with a smart charger, and keep the water level where it should be. I get 3 yrs out of mine and im doing good. S.

I had a crazy incident in my boat yesterday as well. I fainted. Not really sure why, but I passed out cold for over a minute. I had 3 other people in the boat with me, and none of them knew what to do, or even how to operate the boat! It was freaky. Thank god I didn't fall overboard or it could have gotten scary quick! I hadn't eaten all day, it was hot, and I hadn't had enough water. Crazy times.....I've never fainted in my life, it scared the crap out of me!!! Went to Emerg for a once over and everything is fine. You never know when things are going to go bad, and when they do it happens fast, and ALWAYS when you lease expect it!! Be safe out there folks! S.

You need eyes on the back of your head these days. Sheesh. Play safe folks! S.

Just go fish! S.

It should make a big difference if you adjust the trim pin......something is up. Are you sure its the right prop? S.
-
Does it have power trim? Where is the pin set for the trim? Maybe bring it up a notch and try again..... S.

That's crazy. Glad you were all OK. What did the bayliner guy have to say? A buddy of mine had the same thing happen last year on rice lake. The operator had a cooler full of beer in the boat. My buddy took a cash settlement to replace/repair his little tin can. I would have hammered the guy in the other boat with every law there is. That's just not right!!! Thank god nobody was hurt!!! S.

Heading to Brule Lake Plevna On, anyone familiar?
Sinker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I'm not familiar with that particular lake, but that area has a lot of great lakes, and good fishing. One of my favourite areas to go. S. -
Falling out of a boat while trolling alone is a real bad situation. If your not wearing your PFD, your in big trouble. Getting back into a moving boat isn't going to happen. Getting back into a stopped boat is a workout in itself. I don't have a ladder, I use the motor as well, but my boat isn't that high.....I'll have to measure, I may be over 20"..... S.
-
Explornet or Shaw. Maybe Nexicom, but I'm not sure they go that far. S.

I went for a musky troll last night to kill a couple hours. Launched out of view lake on scugog. Pulled up to the launch, got the boat ready to go, looked down, and there was a dead musky with no head bobbing just off shore. Clearly cut off with a knife and left to die. I hate people. S.

407 saves TONS of time when the 401 is a mess, but right now that area between brock rd and brooklin is a mess. S.
-
It sure seems like a spun hub to me, but you could have something going on in the gearcase too. I'd get another prop and try it first. S.
-
Giver a little more and the bow will come down, boat will plane, then you can back off the throttle. S.
-
Experience helps for sure. I went for a ride in my buddies princecraft in Lake O once and was scared to death, then I took the controls and it was smooth as silk....so it does make a difference. Sometimes getting up on plane, and on top of the waves is better, but you do take a beating on the odd big roller. S.
-
Yep, not really any way to avoid it. You can go one concession north of 7 and carry on to the 115 then south to 401 though....might be a little better. S.
