  1. Photoperiod controls a lot more than most people realize. Watch the moon phases. That full moon that's coming will have fish up the rivers regardless of temps, rain, or conditions. It always will. S.
  2. Full moon in august always brings fish in. Temps don't meat squat! S.
  3. I'll take strange bites any day! Better than no bites! Easy on that arm lol S
  4. I'm stumped. S.
  5. Hey guys, sorry to be a little off topic, but you guys would know the answer to my question best. How are water levels down there this year?? S.
  6. Those are beauties boys! Nice work! S.
  7. Beauty! S.
  8. Of course beer.....silly question S.
  9. We watched it from east of you. Quite the light show for sure! Hardly anything around cavan. S.
  10. Sweet set up Terry! Great versitile fishing machine! Great job on the rigging! S.
  11. You can batter your perch too. Just water the batter down so its not as thick. You really can't do perch wrong any way you do them. S.
  12. I would say they are the turn outs from a coal stove, not wood. Someone probably used the stove for wood, and dumped those right where you found them. S
  13. I couldn't catch a trout to save my life this weekend on our lake. How deep you fishin?? I blamed it on the cold front, but maybe I was under them? I tried between 40-80ft down. Usually get a few, but not even a sniff. That pontoon looks nice and comfy! S.
  14. Good stuff Matt! I had my niece and nephew out for their first fishing trip from the boat over the weekend! Kids love this stuff! She will never forget that fish! S.
  15. Nice! I can't tell frron the pic, but looks like a 365 or so, with 18" bar. Pretty big saw for trimming trails and a bit of firewood, but its a great machine that will outlast you more than likely. I have one just like it, but only use it for big stuff. My 265 with 16"bar gets used for everything you could imagine, and I have an old 008 that is super handy for many, many things. Can't go wrong with that purchase. Take care of it, and it will do everything you want it to do. S.
  16. Really? What kind of issues are you having?? I have at leadt 6 spinning reels spooled with it from 15-40lb, one musky rod with 65, another musky rod with 80, two dipsy rods with 50lb and I can't think of a single issue I've had. That I could blame the line. My musky, and dipsy rods have had the same line on them for what seems like forever....has to be at least 5 seasons, probably more. Still as good now as when I put it on. Even my kids prefer it. S.
  17. One more reason I hate the 401!! I'm glad the weekend is over, because a lot of those dumbasses were on the roads and water around here. Always in a rush, and can't drive! S.
  18. I think I'd be letting a low flying flare go! S.
  19. Bah....this is nothin, but not far to the east of me is getting hammered pretty good. Just a bit of rain here. Not a draft of wind. S.
  20. Yep, stick with power pro and you won't have any issues.
  21. I'm curious whether the driver was charged or not. What would the charge be? Careless? DUI? My buddy that got hit settled on shore. I never would have settled. These guys need to learn a lesson. They even had a cooler full of beer in the boat!!! I will never understand how these things happen. Scares the hell out of me thinking about it. The real scary part is I was out this weekend fishing with 3 kids under 11 in my boat. Imagine if that dipstick had hit us??? I think I'd be the one in jail once I got a hold of him!!! It really makes ya think doesn't it? S
  22. This same thing happened to a buddy of mine a few weeks ago on rice lake. Never leave it to anyone else but yourself to be safe. You need eyes on the back of your head some days. I'm glad everyone is ok, and I hope the idiot in the other boat got nailed to the fullest. S.
  23. Wow, great grampa eh? Crazy! Congrats Roy! I never got to meet any of my great grandparents. Luckily my kids did! Lucky kid!! S.
  24. I love the old saws too. I have a couple old john deere machines that I've been meaning to rebuild, just never seem to find the time. The stihl's get all the work done around here. S.
  25. It will work just the same. The ice models are just in a portable pack, and have the iceducer. The 570 will give you a cleaner picture, but tell you the same thing. S.
