Beautiful work. I'm going to have to find me a wicked edge. Nice set up. S.

I went duck hunting with a falconer. Most amazing thing I've ever seen. Way better than with a shotgun. Incredible birds. S.
-
Thats was awesome! You really get * sense of how fast they're going with the sound on the camera. I'd love to have one to hunt! S.

Been spooled a few times off the piers for kings a few times actually. 300 YARDS of mono....zzzzzzzzzzz.....ping. Gone. For normal fishing though, I bulk my spools with cheap mono, and put 100ft of braid over top. I can tell how far back my lures are trolling that way as well, just by looking at how much mono is showing thru the braid S. S.

Whities: Fillet them, trim off as much of the "mud line" and fat as you can, then fillet, the fillets, so they are nice and thin. Put meat in iced water. Start heating oil, and make batter. Batter: 1 cup flour, 1 egg, 2 tsp baking powder. Add beer until batter is thin enough that it just coats the meat after rolling in flour. (you can substitute the flour for whatever you like, some like bisquick, some like different types of flour etc) Get oil hot, dust meat in oil, roll thru batter and fry. Season to your taste. DELISH!! I find whities are best cooked fresh. I don't freeze them. I will even go as far as putting them on a fish chain and keeping them alive on the ice rather than let them freeze out there. It makes a big difference. So does putting the fresh cleaned fish in the iced water. Keep them COLD, and I mean as close to frozen, but not frozen. The herring, I'd release. The only way I like them is pickled, or smoked whole in a proper smoker. S.

40 holes with an 8" bit?? Big difference there.... I just drill MY OWN holes by hand with a finbore 3.....never had a problem. Comes with 2 batteries that never quite, and will drill 8" holes all day long through whatever thickness the ice is S.
-
3 months? Your dreaming! I'll still be drilling holes in 3 months, for sure, and you will probably be drilling for longer than we will down here! That's barely enough time to get all my ice fishing done!! I better get moving LOL S.

I carried my first fish around in my chest pocket all day long and showed everyone I saw LOL S.

Great minds think alike! Nice work! Too snazzy for me, I just break everything! Lol S.

LOL....speaking of ignorant statements.....

Crazy about buddies hut....I prefer a woodstove to gas anyday! Nice fish! S.

Or just drive with a, inv*lid sticker for as long as you can. $110 fine.

You've obviously never used one. I guess you think they don't mark in real time either? Oh, and the screens freeze too, right?
-
I've rented a solo hut from Tim Hales a few times. As long as they have one open, and they're going out anyways, its never been an issue.....always during the week though....never tried on a weekend. S.

I have an old X96 that I use most of the time. It works beauties. S.

The one I have works fine. I guess I chose a silly number of 80ft for an example, but any depth works. Picks up horizontal jigs really good, spoons tend to come and go out of the cone. A short pause brings it back. This is an elite 5 brian, not a 4.....if that makes a difference. S.

I set my upper and lower limits. Say I'm fishing 80 ft. I set upper limit to 40ft, lower limit to 81ft. No zoom required. Ping speed 100%, sensitivity high enough that the screen isn't cluttered, and I can mark my jig. S.

Yep. I've had a cottage in wilberforce for almost 30yrs. Farquar is decent for lakers. You should have no problem finding them, and catching. I've had good luck fishing relatively shallow compared to most general "laker" depths in that lake. Standard jigs and set lines catch them. Good luck, and let us know how ya make out! S.

What are you fishing for? Match your line and hook size to your bait size. Small minnows, small hooks And light line. S.

Looks great Chris. I have those m*llard drake feathers you were asking for BTW.

Interesting opinion/factoid about Mercs vs Yammies

I'm sure you'll be happy Fisherman. Good buy for sure. My hunting partner bought a 40 yammy tiller 2 years ago and I'm in love with it. I have a yamaha built mariner 40, and like your Honda, it's been bulletproof for the last 20yrs, and still a great engine, but I think it's time to upgrade. Those yammies are sweeeeet! S. -
Looks good B. That plate on top will save your butt for sure. It WILL come out of the chuck...even one with a key. The hand model is easier to mess with either way. S.

I can see why the previous owner went thru hull on that particular boat. S.

Ha! I bet your right!! I have an old Yamaha too, but prefer my Taylor. Ya don't see many of those black engines down home do ya? I wonder why that is?? I know there's none around our town at all. Mostly Yamaha, and older mariners (also Yamaha). See the odd Honda now, and a few E-tecs....but no black ones. S. -
The ice will be fine. It will just be wet. This is just what we need. It will only make it better once it firms back up. S.
