Going to be good returns in the next 3-4 years. Sucks for some but nothing but positives from a fishery standpoint. Instagram and Facebook might be a bit upset with the lack of hero shots.
Well, dropped off the boat this morning at Bay City Marine in Hamilton. I was fairly picky as to how and where I wanted the screen and the transducer mounted. As it's a new to me boat I also wanted a basic check up and make sure all was A1. She passed with flying colours (colors for my 'merican friends). Picked her up around 3 and was very impressed with the install and how everything was as I had asked. Price was as I had expected 😵 but don't mind paying for quality work. Kudos to BCM for a job well done!!
I hope your family is well Whopper.
I say this with all due respect to our south of the boarder friends here .
Until the USA gets a grip on this virus, there is no way I hope, our side will allow the boarder to open for friendly travel. This virus is not a joke .
Well it has been a while since I posted a fishing report. The summer has seen short day trips to Lake Ontario as I try to figure out the salmon/trout thing. Although that has been a blast, my "first love" is still musky fishing. When our planned trip to Myrtle Beach got cancelled, the suggestion was made by family to head to Pigeon Lake. I was not going to argue with that decision! Winds were big and the floating weeds were plenty. Thank goodness for rod holders that can get those tips down in the water. Since it was a family vacation, fishing was not the primary activity. However, the muskies were on and we were able to catch a bunch over the course of the week. Each time I went, I took a few passengers along. Since they were all newbies, trolling was the way to go. Managed to get a few people onto their first (and second, third and fourth fish). One of the nicest fish came as I was out with my 2 oldest boys...a special moment!
No overnight parking in the lot as well I'm told. That will cost you $50 if caught. Looks like the Credit is it boys. Or west Humber launch. I'm now in St Catherines and our beach Lakeside does not open till 8 am, and closes at 9pm now. Towed if in the parking lot at other times. The biggest shocker to me is that if you cannot show a drivers license illustrating that you live in St Catherines you can't use that public beach at ANY TIME. Politicians and municipal authorities are now showing their true colours. They WILL push the public around whenever they are given the chance. And the pandemic has given them the opportunity.
Where is the OFAH in all of this. Access is the first step to eliminating our fishing rights.
I love mine as well. In terms of heat on our recent trip we had some warmer days (21 to 23 degrees) where rain was circling. I found the bibs fine w shorts underneath and kept jacket in the dry bag in case it did rain (which it did lol)
No we're not talking dome lights; we're talking electronically controlled headlights. Oh yeah the dome lights are also controlled by an electronic module. (sorry had to point that out LOF) You have to think of these "switches" as inputs to the LCM; when you actuate one of these inputs; you are actually putting in a request to the LCM. The lamp control module (LCM) has two battery feeds that are hot at all times. A 20 amp fuse for the parking lights and a 20 amp circuit breaker for the headlights. So the LCM is possibly getting a skewed input from a failing sensor or "switch", an intermittent short/open in the wiring or the LMC is failing. Here's a wiring diagram; have at it.

I loaded the diagram as a PDF as well as an image. The image is not very clear.

I sit in on weekly TIAO meetings: yes, the Northern outiftters/lodges/marinas and Indigienous tourism operations have taken a beating this year because upwards of 90% of their business is from south of the border. The structure of the early financial aid didn't work well for those businesses and they consequently had a tough time taking advantage of the boom in intra-provincial business that more southern cottage country experienced. Something will have to be done to help those folks out or we will lose 1000s of small, seasonal businesses.
I'm not sure what or where to start with this? All I can say is that if you find the issue you may not want or can't fix it. Many of the parts for this system have been discontinued and the pieces that are available are crazily priced. For example the headlight dimmer switch (multi function switch style) is $600.00 plus. If the problem turns out to be the control module; it's a dealer only item that I cannot get a price on because its discontinued?
My suggestion is to rewire the lights, using another switch, and an old style floor mount dimmer. Under $50.00 and your time is all it'll cost you. You can use the original 20 amp circuit breaker for the headlight's power feed. You'll find this breaker in the under hood fuse panel; that's on the center of the firewall. Let me know what way you'd like to go and I'll try and help.

A good reason I suppose to keep Bronte open for business so people don't crowd other piers! Make a rule of 10 feet apart and instill litter rules and regs or something for the piers...I mean it's not rocket science is it? ....or simply shut all the piers down and cause fisherman anarachy! 😆
I found a piece of foam that had come loose and was sitting in the bilge on my 1994 Alumicraft. It sank, so I don't think the foam was of much use. The entire boat sank not too long after that.
I have been told the newer boats use better foam.
