Hydro rates

Have you decided which way to go...

 

TOU  off peak    10,5 c/kwh

          mid peak   15.0 c/kwh

           on peak     21.7 c/kwh

 

Tiered  first 1000 kwh/month  12.6 c/kwh

   above 1000  14.6 c/kwh

 

Tiered works for me. Submitted my request today.

Same here, but we are still getting shafted, they sell it to the states at cost!

Does this apply province wide or just to those served by Alectra?  I would go with tiered first 1000 kw/h, we rarely go above 350kw/h per month.

 Fisherman, Contact your local utility. I believe you have to register and it is province wide.

My bill was $19.26 last month 😊 I do hang my laundry out to dry whenever I can all my lights are led all my appliances are energy efficient and I am very careful .

Cliff, you can’t light up fish hut for that! I’m careful too but nothing like you and the big B.  We watch but small kids  . . .It would be nice to have a set rate for all especially mow that most are working or locked up in our homes. 

I worked on an ad campaign many years ago when it was at 3 cents and they wanted to bring it to 5 cent kwh big uproar because of an election year it got cancelled. After the election it went out of control!!!! But our southern friends get it for almost nothing.

they don't want you to know I guess and lock you in for TOU ! It was stated in a press conference, they said early on that it would end in October; with no follow up or direction/warning for us on our statements.
I wonder if my registration will be allowed!!!  I filled it out and no confirmation that they received it. We will see  what my next statement  brings.

I got a letter in the mail about the changes forthcoming. If you want to go back to time of use then do nothing

Great system, why  is the hydro system so divided? Yes I understand free market values, but this is what most of us need  on a daily basis like natural gas and gasoline for transportation. 
For years I made it a point not to drive one day a week, now I only try to drive only one day a week. 
 

maybe the letters for the rest of us are late!!!!

Staying on time of use, the tiered would only be better during the air conditioning season by my mental calculations. Retired and use very little power, the bulk of the bill is fixed and delivery charges 😬

Perhaps send it in again if you have not received confirmation. I received two e mails within hours, on stating they got it, the second one saying they approved my request.

well I did resend it. I missed the "review" part the first time and when done again I did get an email :)

Received my first bill with the tiered rate I chose, and my

bill is cheaper than my past bills.

Hydro makes its money on the delivery charge which goes up the more you use. You may save some money with the tiered rates but check the delivery charge on your bill.

Yup, there's always the minimum charge even if you don't use any.
