misfish Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Horse head sucker. Nice shot Edited April 19, 2014 by Misfish
Roy Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Nice pics. Definitely not a sucker....most likely a mooneye.
solopaddler Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Tough to tell. Mooneye or Gizzard Shad. Jon Pretty positive it's a shad.
Roy Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Yup, hadn't even considered shad but that's even more likely. The anal fin is a giveaway for either unless I'm missing something.
dave524 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Too big for a mooneye, unless they get bigger than the ones we used to get flyfishing in the Grand or that is a very small Osprey. Shad sounds good. Where are these pictures taken??? that would go a long ways to figuring it out.
Twocoda Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 pictures were taken at the Bluffers Park the Osprey was her target to capture....the fish is a bonus! ...Thanks guys..I hadnt considered a Shad either...I was stuck with goldeye and mooneye
fishing Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Shad (big, wide body), not trout, not mooneye (small, narrow body).
Terry Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 well, it's not simcoe herring..cause he would have released it
