ccmtcanada Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) You can see how parts of Quinte and rivers like the one flowing into Rice Lake are ice free. Hard to tell, but is the south end of Scugog open water? The imagery at http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/region_map.html is a good way to see it happening (assuming it's not a cloudy day). Orillia Perch Festival April 20-May 11 Winternet or do we wear shorts? Just a question......... Sheesh !-Relax ! Paul I was up in Orillia yesterday, on the south side it's open out to the old Government dock, on the north side, it's open to about the first island. I'm thinking with the rain and temps this week coming we'll be good for opening day, maybe even before that.

Could be open water Cliff...All lands and water south of the causeway from Port Perry to Scugog Island and beyond is Private Property and is basically swamp land with shallow weedy water and lots of bullrushes for the sun to reflect off of... freddyp Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Fisherman, I'm a regular for the festival. But not sure what you mean by the old government dock? What about the public launch @ the end of Collins drive? Is the ice out from there over to the narrows yet? thanks!
