Dan668
Agree with the posters above, any worm like soft plastic will work. Weight depends on the depth your fishing. I used my daiwa s o l and a ml action rod which worked well

DaveMc
Sorry Rolly, forgot to mention i'm using a 7'2" Med Crucial with a Stradic 2500FJ. So far my best success has been with 20lb Power Pro with 15lb Seaguar Flouro Leader, size 1 and 1/0 Trokar drop shot hooks and 1/4oz - 1/2oz ball weights in LSC and 3/8oz - 1/2oz pencil weights in SCR. Seems too heavy with the leader but so far has worked out quite well. if we get out before the classic you can take it for a spin. Stoty
Xzone Slammers HANDS DOWN. The "HammerShad" is a Slammer wanna-be. This is a little off topic but how has everyone been making out with swammers? Amazing! Been hammering Walleye and bass all year on them. As mentioned above, they are also KILLER through the ice for lakers.
Harrison
Slammers are mint, tried and true. I strated using the Reins Bubble Shaker to mix things up. Love them, but pricy. Getting quite the buzz on the big ponds too.

Stoty
stupid question but drop shooting means casting and wating for a bite? Dropshotting is a technique that has become extremely popular for bass (smallmouth in particular). It has the weight below the hook so the weight stays in contact with the bottom and the bait is suspended up the line at whatever leader length you want. (typically 8"-24" off bottom). Here's an example: Dropshot Rig
