justin elia Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 Beautiful pics Selfmade05. Those brookies are spectacular!
BillM Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Aren't the 'giant' brookies in some of those pics actually splake? If not... good god.
S.M.05 Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 dave524 All fish in those picks come from back lakes. Thats a bow not a steelhead and the specs are not nipi. specs although someday I will have the chance to catch some of those beauts. BillM The three that follow the laker are 2 female splake and one male splake with a kype. The others are specs, first one was a big spring female and the last one was big kyped male which is out there putn the weight on as we speak. Just have to learn how to catch steelhead now.
Fisherpete Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Oh ok... since you twisted my rubber arm... here is some of my best from 2009 and 2010. 27" Walleye 20" Smallmouth bass Nice largemouth bass caught in a storm 20.5" Smallmouth bass 42" Muskie 43" Muskie Release shot 47" Muskie (PB... caught solo so nobody to take pic ) Release shot 47" Muskie (tied PB from the 5 days before!) 40" Muskie... fatty! 27" Laker (PB) 25" Whitefish (PB) 24" Laker

Very cool man, I don't think I've ever hooked into a splake.. Steelhead are easy, you shouldn't have any problems with them Just learn to become a weatherman and you'll be all set, lol.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought the one I quoted looked like a brown with the spotting initially. edit : Mike none of the pics were mine , unfortunately. Edited February 11, 2010 by dave524
holdfast Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 My Biggest fish ever, and I still have her.
Fish4Eyes Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 You sir are a legend in my eyes. May I please ask when your taking me fishing?
S.M.05 Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Sorry, my mistake, I thought the one I quoted looked like a brown with the spotting initially. Your are right the first Fish is a brown. The second fish or first spec is a spec not a splake.
