Bernie Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I personally would not eat a fish the seagulls won't eat. All they do is pick the eyes out and leave the rest.
cram Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Hard to eat a fish that gets bounced off the motor on a "delicate" release!HH that's nice.
fishermccann Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 that's nice. That, should not happen to any living creature, if you are a Sportsman!
Gerritt Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Guys... it is a friggen joke... relax.. sheesh.. G
limeyangler Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Used to eat them when I was younger and they were just fine. Only reason I don't eat them now is because I just can't find any in this area. I always thought it was ling that was known as poor man's lobster. I'll eat them if I catch them too. Jackfish(pike) is known as 'poor man's lobster' up here, same principal, boil up chunks of fish, serve with a dip.
oxcowboy Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 not a bad eating fish at all, put some spices and butter in foil and grill or batter and fry. you will like it alot! every 2-4 lber i catch get kept. jason
dks Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I tried sucker from Lake Simcoe for the first in my life and was surprised how mild and "non fishiy" the fish tasted. Other than the fact that it is boney, it was an eye opener on how one has preconceived ideas on what is a "good" fish. Based on what I tasted, it was certainly better than any steelhead I've eaten. No muddy taste at all. If I get a small carp from a good body of water, I'll have to try it someday.
BillM Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Guys... it is a friggen joke... relax.. sheesh.. G NO IT'S NOT THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dara Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Sheephead is not that bad eating. The meat is dense like bass but not quite as tasty. You do get a little bit of the muddy taste but overall not bad. I would eat a sheephead before i eat a carp or a sucker. Bass?...you eat Bass? ewwwwwww
quickme Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Bass?...you eat Bass? ewwwwwww i'll eat the 1-2 lbs ones.. don't keep fish much thou... Pictures last much longer! i guess if you fry and batter any fish its not too bad.
Headhunter Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 So, as a sportsman, I guess I'm going to have to convince the next minnow I use as bait to self impale itself on my hook. Anyone got a good book on how to become a fish whisperer? Sometimes you guys make me laugh... sometimes you guys make me HH
bigugli Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Bass?...you eat Bass? ewwwwwww A 10-12" bass goes great with a plate of bacon, eggs, and homefries for brekkie.

Earrings, Lip rings, nipple rings, etc, just think of it as the minnow wanting to be stylish in the water...
