  1. very nice looking deer. Good luck in getting one of those guys. Our archery season starts on saturday here in ohio,I cant wait.
  2. I was teaching a class of jr. high students, and we had went outside for a class project and were returning back to my classroom when one of the cooks was in the cafeteria watching the t.v., she told me that a plane had crashed into the trade center and it was on fire. I first thought wow that is crazy, and expected it to be a small plane. When i got to my room, i flipped on the t.v. and we all watched, most of the kids were still talking and cutting up until the 2nd plane crashed, and then we were all shocked. the room was silent and we just sat there. The bell rang for classes to change and we still just sat, the hallways were empty. We all stayed glued to the news several parents came and picked their children up, I stayed up until 4 o'clock that night just stunned at what had happend that day knowing the world would never be the same. I seriously considered joining the military after that day, just wanting to help defend my country and get some type of revenge on those that were responsible for such a cowardly act. Today nearly 10 years later, we had a moment of silence at our school. Many of my students today were in kindergarten or first grade and really dont remember much of that day and what went on. I showed a tribute video to every class today and each student was stone silent while watching, which made me proud of the kids i am currently teaching. God Bless America jason

  11. Well after a long and uneventful archery season, gun season finally opened today here in ohio. started the morning watching a young button buck, followed by some fork horns and then this nice 10 point buck. After tagging him i took a nice plump doe about a half hour later. so far that makes three on the year for me, i can still take three more doe's if i can. lots of jerky and vinison steaks in the near future. jason
  12. we have in the past Joe, I now have a gaurdian dog at the barn and that seems to have helped. we still get a hen or two come up missing from time to time, but figure that might be coons or possums. we honestly have had more trouble lately with the black head vultures, praying on cows trying to calve. jason
  13. thats still a pretty darn good pic, i have an older moultrie and it does ok, but not near that good. jason
  14. I skinned it out, gonna try my hand at tanning the pelt and hang on the wall of my man room down in the basement. i for sure wont be eating it, but as the outlaw josey wales said " To hell with them. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms. jason

  16. hey folks, havent been around much here lately, been busy with work, the farm, and life. our deer season opened on sept. 24th, i was in a wedding that day and sure didnt feel much like climbing a tree the next morning or evening(it was a real good wedding) So anyways, i havent had much chance to be in the woods till this weekend. Friday i go and see nothing, saturday morning i go and see nothing, saturday evening i go and see a doe finally but she was about 80 yards out, then i see another sneaking up to the right of me, i get ready it comes out and its a lil spike, bout 4 inches on each side. we only get one buck tag so i didnt want to waste it on him, only about 110 pounds or so. well tonight i go back to the same spot, get settled in and waited. after about an hour of setting in light rain, i see something. It was a coyote heading right to me! i slowly get settled in and he just keeps coming. finaly at 10 yards i let the arrow fly. Right on target, he went about 30 yards and was done. This is the first bow kill on a yote for me. We farm so everyone we can take out of the area is a good thing for us. Hope everyone elses hunting year is going good, hope to get some deer pics soon. jason
