nancur373 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) Jacob Norman McDonald was born on Monday night at approx 10:10pm. For those of you who understand he has double right ventricle ateries. Which is both great arteries come out of the right ventricle instead of one right and one left. He also hase a sizeable hole between the ventricles. But all said he came home from Sick Kids last night and is doing great. His heartrate, breathing, and oxygen levels are normal. He will have to go for surgery in four to six months. He has to have check-ups every two weeks in the meantime. We're just so happy to have him home and doing so good. Very excited. Oh by the way he weighed 8lbs even. With lots of hair. Thanks for reading. Curt Edited January 22, 2009 by nancur373

Sinker Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Congrats on the new arrival Curt!! My neice had the same problems when she was born. Sick kids took excellent care of her, and she's now 100% fine. Shes a bit of a handful.....but health wise, absolutly perfect!!! I'm sure the surgery will go just fine. Those people at sick kids are miracle workers for sure!!!! Sinker
Radnine Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 He certainly looks like he's raring to go! Your older one is a real combo eh?
Vtucciarone Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Congrats and God bless. Just to put you mind at ease, my son was born with very similar heart defects. At six months old he had heart surgery at Sick kids, this was back in 1999 he is now 9 years old and nothing can stop him. All the best

Guest steel'n'esox Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 congradulations on your new arrival, sick kids is second to no one in pediatric care, they truly signafy the way health care should be, my 13 year old daughter had surgery there 7 months ago, and knowing she was been taken care of by the most caring, sincere group of professionals in their field helped to lessen the stress associated with the surgery.
nancur373 Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 Thanks for the nice comments. Curt
