  1. Fruedian slip..... "noun" An error that reveals someone's subconscious mind. What the hell were you thinking Dave.
  2. Your a fortunate man to have had a Grandfather who helped develop your passion for fishing and the outdoors and stuck around for 90 years as your mentor. May he rest in peace. My condolences to you and your family.
  3. Yep, Bay City Marine. I've been dealing with them for 30 years for both outboard parts as well as outboard repairs I couldn't tackle myself.
  4. That's great, I'm glad it worked out for your grandson.
  5. I'm thinking the best fix would be to cut it off with a Dremel tool (or the like) as close to the last remaining guide as possible. Though I honestly think you'd be better off replacing the rod.
  6. Looks like I missed a good time and hell even I would likely have been able to catch a cold. Lemon something or other is apparently good for colds.....
  7. Have you tried Acetone on the windows Paul or Deet?
  8. If depth excedes the sonars capabilities you'll get no bottom reading, however it'll still return signals created by suspended fish. I used to fish Lake O with an older paper graph that had a 120' max reading and never had any trouble marking fish that were at 120' and above.
  9. Did it break above or below the next guide from the tip?
  10. I'm pleased to see that Brandon was able to fit a visit with you into his schedule Dan. I'm sure the two of you (or perhaps 3 of you) could have spent days wondering about with cameras in tow. Great shots of Brandon doing his thing and a good eye on you for taking the opportunity to catch it, I think most of us camera novices would have totally missed those shots. Safe travels Brandon.
  11. Good choice Dan, AIC rules. While Layne is certainly long gone I like the sound of the new AIC album, still has that AIC feel to it, no doubt in part due to Jerry's contribution to their sound and style.
  12. [quote name= ketchenany' date='09 September 2010 - 12:50 PM' timestamp='1284051048' post='502676] Speil Custom Rods LOL....Well I can honestly say they're assembled in here Canada unfortunately a lot of the components I use are not. I don't have a website Dave, just word of mouth and that keeps me fairly busy.
  13. I've definitely seen them in various sizes at Michaels.
  14. Upon seeing the picture in the live well my first thoughts were this fishes bladder was blown and with what your stating here about it being caught rigging I'm thinking that may have played a part in it's demise. Fizzing may have saved it but given that it was potentially dragged around on stringer for hours, maybe not.
  15. I'm sure I can help you with that and yes I can inscribe it. Shoot me a PM anytime you want to start talking details.
  16. It's happened to me as well, one of my favourite little brookie streams that occasionally coughed up a true trohpy. Unfortunately the few pike I did catch were out of season so I reluctantly returned then to the creek, I'd have much prefered to make a meal of them.
  17. Looks like you're having a good summer Bryan but next time change the camera angle, I'd rather not see my employer in the background.
  18. Beauty, love Brookies. One of my fave ways of hitting them in summer would be the same tactics that I use in winter. Vertical jigging spoons.
  19. LOL, I hadn't connected the 2 but now that you mention it.... I'm pleased that the rod is functioning for you, may your next smallie excede that by 3lbs.
  20. Doesn't surprise me at all Lew, that's probably the same year he gifted me one as well.
