  1. Sounds like it might be a good trick but I don't quite understand. Even though your hands are on the bottom of the wheel, the same movement of your hands----either to the left or right---will produce the same type of rotation of the wheel ----either CW or CCW. What am I missing here? Thx
  2. Downloaded from an outfitters FB page! Anyone recognize this little guy? Maybe we'll see a report on here soon.
  3. Best to use premium in all the small motors unless they are used very regularly. Run it until it's out of gas in the fall.
  4. Your response is a klunker, Klinker!! http://www.dot.gov.nt.ca/_live/documents/content/Transport_Canada_Safe_Boating_Guide_Web.pdf see pg 36.
  5. Naaah! Gotta eat corn as soon as it cooks---can't let it cruise or it loses its flavor.
  6. How does he know the salmon are spent? In any case it looks like the dog would be destroying, or at least disturbing, the redds. Get that do and it's stoopid owner out of there!!
  7. Not a very well written piece, though: "Besides nutritional problems, Carr said overuse of bread can lead to specific diseases that can become problematic in any pond. Carr said when fecal material goes into the pond, it's a source of botulism bacteria that can spread among the ducks. "It can wipe out an entire waterfowl colony," Carr said." Come again?? Is there poop on bread?? Do ducks get out of the water to poop?? I feed them cracked corn here on the Notty. (They are definitely NOT getting any of my earthworms----listed as a good food option! )
  8. Maybe some of you who live nearby can launch their boat and fish the harbour in support of fellow fishermen! http://www.northumberlandtoday.com/2015/05/21/anglers-asked-to-leave-cobourg-harbour
  9. Yeah, but the alternative ain't so hot either!!
  10. Carp advice----yes-----Carpe Diem!! (Sorry, just couldn't resist )
  11. I would never worry about it in Ottawa----chances are probably just slightly more that the Leaf winning the cup!!
  12. I always have a bad day whenever I can't find my lucky hat!!
  13. Yup! That what I found out when I owned 1. A constant PITA.
  14. We went back yesterday for another crack. Water temp was around 10 deg, which seems to be an optimum temp according to what I have read. We caught 3 good sized bass--2 on Hot'nTot blue and silver and 1 on a Rapala. We had 1 fair sized laker----4-5 lb---in close to the boat and did a 'remote release . It was also on the same Hot'nTot. We also tried Little Cleos and Flatfish w/o any hits. Marked quite a few fish scattered throughout the water column. Given that we caught 3 bass I am guessing that most of the fish we marked the last time out were bass that were too cold to be interested in chasing bait.
  15. ooops--misread the title. I thought it said Ultrastiff. I was all for that!!!
  16. The Simcoe guys swear by this technique.
  17. We are hoping to give it another crack tomorrow. Anyone hazard a guess as to how deep the lakers will be? Tactics different from 'ice-out'? I just bought a Tadpole diver---should help to get down a bit. http://www.offshoretackle.com/resettable_diving_weights.html
  18. Exactly indeed!! I had a tent trailer quite a few years ago. The amount of time I spent in the driveway and on the lawn cursing and trying to get the lights to work is astounding.
  19. Can a closet Leaf fan come with you the next time if I promise to seek professional help??
  20. Wow! Quite the day.I guess my buddy Ralph must have missed a few last winter!1 For some reason reminds me of that old limerick: There was a young man from Kent whose rod was severely bent So, to save himself trouble he shoved it in double and instead of coming, he went!! You're not from Kent, are you??
