I once bought a floater suit off a shady character right at his front door....in Barrie. -
Yup, I commented on that cheapo frog thing and I guess that was the wrong answer. Crickets. Oh and tell Bobby cranking like a mad man while the drag is screaming out line = Awesome! lol

There are a LOT of variables in play here. Two outboards from two manufacturers, two props, one stainless, one aluminum. I think you can absolutely swap out props until to get up to 6000 rpm and you might be happier with the top end, but don't be at all surprised if it nets you zero results. That aluminum prop spinning at 6000 could have been moving the boat SLOWER that your are now. It's prop slip. I've set up a lot of bass boats and once you're within 2-3 mph of the peak performance, that last couple mph will cost you hundreds to solve. I've seen guys get the rpms nailed, great top end, low prop slip and when they have 3-4 people in the boat, they can't get up on plane because they have too much prop. If you're happy with the hole shot and it runs strong fully loaded, I probably wouldn't spend money trying to go from 44 mph to 46 mph. If you have a shop that will let you try props without buying fine, but if you find one you like, you're back to spending a lot to get to 46 mph. JMHO Good luck.

It's not Ottawa's fault really. They wanted to ice the top players but San Jose said no. -
I really don't see a lot of upside to this bait. First, weedless or not, trebles would be my last choice. Maybe they're ok for smaller bass but if you stick a 5lb+ fish in cover, those trebles will straighten right up. I'd stick to a traditional weedless frog with 4.0 or 5.0 hooks instead. Secondly, a pop-R would do the same thing and is also a fantastic open water bait. Finally, the glo-sticks with the little trap door...well, it'll catch a LOT of fisherman. Overall, I would say the gent in the video is liking the frog mainly because he's using the wrong rod/reel setup and the trebles hooks allow him to bury the thin wire hooks. If that's the motivation, buy some weedless trebles and switch out the hooks on a pop R.

That's just awesome.

And a helper! Great snap from Marner. These guys are deadly. -
That's not a real tiger musky, it has no mane!

Of course. Just joking. I wouldn't have a clue either and would be concerned I could inadvertently insult them by not knowing the protocol. Have a great trip.

^^^ lol the words "outboard" and "bulletproof" don't belong in the same sentence. Unless the sentence is "I'm going to buy a new outboard motor so I hope my wallet is bulletproof!"

What a write up! I'm only half way through it and have to come back to finish when I have more time. I couldn't help but skim through all the photos though. Just my opinion here but I can't look at the beauty that's "painted" on those fish, the trees, streams, and even the polished rocks and blue sky, and not believe in a higher power. That's a stunning part of the world. Thanks again for taking us there! -

You drive a few sheet metal screws into the rubber knobs on those crutches and they're ice crutches!! lol Yeah, I think you'd want to be careful there. It wouldn't take much of a sideways slip to bugger up a freshly fixed knee. Potentially, you could suffer a setback and jeopardize spring fishing. Regardless you'll know better after you've had it done but it's so less intrusive now compared to years ago. My son's buddy walked in here 3 days after the surgery. Might have been looped up on Vicodin and Naproxen though! -
You have to you at the specs and compare the actual difference. Outboard engineers have really closed the gap on the weight differential. A Mercury 250hp ProXs 2 stroke is 505lbs. The new 250hp 4 stroke 4.6L V8 is 527lbs. A transom designed to handle the torque load of a 250hp shouldn't be jeopardized by <50lbs.

LOL yeah, wouldn't marketing be so much easier if all products only had to appeal to the needs of one person.
-
Yes. Unless of course you didn't want/need a real boat.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that wearing sunglasses with two different coloured lenses can make you do crazy things. Good video. Musky aren't picky eaters when they decide to eat. lol
