  1. I'm ordering a new Ranger!! Only gotta make 3 payments! Yahoo!
  2. X2 I went there once with my boys and lucked out on one of their waterfront sites. The tent is 6 feet from the edge of the water and the boat is right there tied up. Great weekend.
  3. Wouldn't it be great if nothing ever changed like the good old days?
  4. Hey Stoty you're right, a deals a deal. But I'd use the trolling motor and 5 minutes later I'd have my boat back! I got bugged as well to try tubing behind the boat. Unfortunately(for them) I really have no way of connecting a tube rope without purchasing a tripod gizmo and bolting it to the rear deck...that's not gonna happen. There are cleats at the back but they're hardly strong enough to pull a tube. I've heard a couple horror stories already about the damage(to people) from snapping ropes, etc.
  5. I don't recall and I'm at work right now. It was a liquid though. Just hooked it up to the garden hose and go.
  6. Hey Fisher, I noticed my birch was dropping leaves last Friday and thought it was strange but with all this dry weather paid little attention. I came back from fishing Saturday and my jaw dropped when I looked at the tree! It was literally being eaten alive. There were thousands of them on it and the linden tree beside it. It would have been impossible to hand pick that many bugs off a 15ft tree. All I had was grub killer for the lawn, so I nailed it. The tree was going to die if I didn't do something. They dropped like, well, flies. They garden underneath is covered in dead bugs. I also did the linden with the same results. It's been 4 days without a single beetle back. I have no idea why I'm seeing them now for the first time ever.
  7. There once was a man who sold lures, Who thought Limerick was great for fish tours. We don't really know, If he bought there but so, We're hoping it's all fish pics and Coors! Good luck!
  8. I think I've got an old Mr. Sieve in the garage. A coat of blue paint...who'll tell the difference?
  9. I agree. I use Flak Jackets with the dark polarized lenses on bright days and switch to H2Optix with amber lenses in low light hours and cloudy days. I'll be buying a pair of Nema glasses next though...just to try cause I've heard good things. Bottom line, don't go cheap with your eyes. People always underestimate the protection and performance you receive from quality lenses. I've had friends borrow my glasses when in my boat and then be surprised at the clarity and polarization.
  10. Does anyone else see the irony in him keeping it a secret? LOL
  11. Actually, there is a large park right at the crystal beach launch. Last Sunday there was a picnic going on there with about 100 people. I'll look closer next time and see if its a good fit.
  12. I'm about a 30 minute drive from Fort Erie. Are you thinking about a park or something? I don't know anyone with a big back yard we could invade. I'll check it out. ?
  13. This thread is educational if nothing else. I've learned more about the biased, narrow minded, mentality of some of the members than proper boating etiquette. Somehow we went from baits flying out of a boat to trying to get other boaters to hit rocks, hoping they hit rocks, bass are easy to catch and only sunfish, and bassboats aren't even fishing boats. Good to know. I hope the guests that come to this site to learn something skip this thread.
  14. There sure is a lot of negative stereotyping going on here. It's not the boat it's the loose nut behind the wheel. Assuming owners of bassboats "should know better" based on the fact they "look" like anglers is wrong. They "look" like anglers because they had the money to spend...or borrowed it. I will guarantee you there are anglers on this site fishing out of canoes that are better anglers. "I love the sound of their lower unit contacting granite" really?? Lots of people read these posts and that comment makes no sense. I don't wish that on anybody. Bottom line, there's a jerk or two out there in bassboats. If he sells it and buys a bowrider, he's still a jerk. I had a 30+ foot Carver weave between me and a Lund last weekend with tons of room to the outside. Nice boat, the guy is a moron.
  15. Thanks for the reminder to pick up more 60 deg heads. I find that they pick up much less weeds and Lake Erie slime.
  16. Remember, the target market for this vehicle has never even seen a 60s/70s Dart, much less driven one. They won't make the comparison. True. I've got two boys just getting to the point of buying their own vehicles. Neither would have a clue, or even care to know about the old Dart. If I had my way, they'd be driving 4 cyl. carburated Chevy Suburban extended models! You'd need a calendar to clock their 1/4 mile.
  17. You didn't say how big the boat is but with a 90hp, it's a good size. I'd strongly recommend taking advantage of the fact there are three batteries onboard and go to a 24V trolling motor.
  18. Yeah we've ALL been there and it sucks. The worse thing is you'll remember it forever and the what ifs that go along with it. I missed an 8+ largie fishing a tourney 20 years ago and it still ticks me off! LOL
  19. You really should go on the Lowrance website and download the user manual for your unit. I have an HDS 8 and a 7 and found the information valuable. In fact, I printed the manuals out and put them in a binder which I still read through and pick up tips. The HDS series are fantastic units but they're are not "one click" units and weren't designed to be. I still plug mine in at home, turn off the tranducer and experiment with the settings, organize waypoints, etc. just to get more familiar with it. For instance, in your picture you posted you have that amplitude scale down the right side of the screen. I, like many peole, found it of no use and turned it off gaining more screen space.
  20. Bryan Berriaut Sr. passed away June 12. That is the father of Bryan from Backwater tackle. He was 68 years old.
  21. That's right....I said fused but was referring to the circuit breaker. There are tons of people running trolling motors on small boats without them.
