  1. That new boat just paid for itself in one hookset!!! Nice fish!
  2. Sharp looking boat. It looks fast sitting on the trailer!
  3. The unfortunate reality as I see it, is though 99.9% of us are genuinely concerned and want to see fishing done ethically, there is no black and white with regards to the OOS topic. If it was black and white, a simple call to your MNR would suffice and all these threads would read how I helped catch a poacher. Instead, we verbally joist and confuse morals with legal regulations. We cannot police actions that are not technically illegal (read:cant be proven) yet morally wrong. The question is, would this energy be better spent on lobbying for homogenous fishing seasons on a lake by lake basis, stiffer fines for offenders, tighter environmental regulations or a multitude of other positive initiatives? I have my opinions just like everyone on the character of people that fish bass OOS and do it under the guise of musky or walleye fishing. But until it is black and white it's only opinion and by law, worthless. Blabbering complete.
  4. Upper Niagara and Erie. I've been fishing the US side for weeks and can't wait to hit my Canadian side spots!
  5. It sounds a bit like a witch hunt to me. Does anyone else remember that the flipping jig style of jigs were banned in x number of states originally? It was deemed too deadly a bait. History always repeats.
  6. Hey Dan, you and that lobster are wearing the same colours!! Us Leafs fans are everywhere!!
  7. Hey that's amazing!! He'll remember that fish forever! Small world btw, I received those sturgeon pics yesterday from one of my suppliers!
  8. LMAO! I've NEVER seen anything like that! How did your girlfriend not fall off the dock laughing?! Awesome vid!!
  9. OK, someone owes me 4 minutes and 13 seconds!! LOL
  10. I detect the beginning of the soon to be famous Sinclair-Billy Bob feud!! I can see them now...firing 1/2 jigheads at each other!! LOL
  11. Wow amazing stuff! Worth watching a couple times. The only thing missing was the QEW east bound at 7:30am.
  12. Hey BB, yes it's been on here too. The third and final episode will be on this coming Monday. We've been watching it and really enjoying it. Very well done.
  13. You do realize we're all expecting to see amazing fish pics from you this summer.
  14. When I watched that video I found it disturbing. It exemplified the level of secrecy and corruption I hoped only existed with other governments. As a man who has worked in manufacturing my entire life, I feel like my own country has turned on me in the name of money. Working hard, buying Canadian/American and fighting hard to compete against the China's or India's of the world means nothing if I cannot count on my own government to help. If China is my competition and they can produce better and cheaper, good on them. That's competition. But when money is filtered out of the country, taxpayers money, in order to benefit the competition, I see that as corruption. I'm small potatoes in all this and this is just my rant. I say introduce tarriffs to level the playing field. Let TV's and other electronics skyrocket in price. If it means me existing in a healthy North American economy, with a job that pays for a home, food and a tin boat to bob around in, I'll sell my damn TV's today. Ok, now I'm done.
  15. I just have to congratulate you and your family. You and your wife must be beaming with pride! Congrats to all of you!
  16. I tow a 20' Ranger with a Ford Explorer with the V8. I love it...the boat that is. Lol the trucks a ticking time bomb and I will never buy another. Most likely never buy a Ford in general.
  17. I've been contemplating going down to Lake Chautauqua. You just help me make up my mind! Awesome report! Thanks!
  18. Our company has shifted production to Eastern Europe but the concept is the same. The unfortunate truth is if we had not made the transition, the jobs that are still here would also be gone. So in fact, 60 plus jobs disappeared so 15 could survive. We were losing money like mad before the downsize occurred. Nonetheless, it is horrible for the men and women who are displaced and trying to care for their families. Ironically, since many of them have lower family incomes, they are forced to buy cheaper products. The cycle continues.
  19. Another site I am a member of mandates that user names be first name last name. No secrets and alias's to hide behind. You also have to be a member to view forums. I'm not saying its better...just different.
  20. The boats from Pennsylvannia, New York, Ohio, Illinois, etc. do not run all year and it is still the states. The prices there are very different than here. Hours are hours regardless of where you buy it. The post was looking for a bass boat.
  21. Exactly. I think the biggest contributor to the cost is the simple fact you can do so much more. I don't hesitate to make a 15-30 km runs and I absolutely go faster than I need to...when just fishing casually. If I fished the same way as I did previously, meaning same distances from the launch and at the same speed, things would be much different. It would still be more expensive, but much cheaper than now. Oh, and you really should look hard state side for that boat. I'm not saying they don't exist here in Canada, but your odds are much better south. If you shop now with the intention of getting one by the fall or next spring, you'll get what you want.
  22. Take your time and don't be in a rush. That's the key to finding a good boat at the price you want to pay. Not all older boats that are sold at good prices at all beat up like some guys are saying. You can get a great boat, even a great bass boat, for very close to your budget if you don't rush.
