  1. That heavyweight battle was great. It's surprising how much damage their punches do even when they're at the point of complete exhaustion. Scary.
  2. I think we all get the up and down swings to some degree. I don't get them for a whole season, I get them in much shorter durations. I can fish all day and come home exhausted thinking I need a break. Feeling like the next day I have off work I'll relax at home, putter around the garage, anything to recharge the batteries so to speak. I need a break!! By Friday I'm chomping at the bit to go fishing! Checking the wind and weather forecast hoping I can get out and cranky if I can't. I'm my own worse enemy. LOL
  3. Personally, I'm not a Dana White fan. I think he's a clever guy but I don't believe a word he says...he's part of the show. That's just my opinion. It's dead easy for him to get all up in arms and "authorize" an immediate rematch. He's the guy that makes a killing on a fight like that. He is the number one beneficiary of the controversy and a subsequent rematch. I'm not saying he orchestrated it, I'm just saying the huffing and puffing is hype. He's thrilled at the thought of a rematch and so would I. But he's got to get GSP back in the octagon first.
  4. People quite often make their decision based on who got their faces messed up. That not what judges look at...especially in Nevada where boxing is huge. GSP was ahead on the scorecards for # of landed punches, successful takedowns and time advancing/aggressor. There is only one benefit to hitting harder on the scorecard...a knockout. Without KO they have to resort to # of landed strikes. It was a very close fight and maybe Hendricks should have got the win based on how he seemed so much more powerful than GSP and his ability to rock him when he did strike, but unfortunately for Hendricks, that's not what will win you a decision. He needed to put him down or rack up points. If there's another fight, I think they'll be a KO...he's a powerful striker.
  5. Both Dave's in Grimsby agree!
  6. Good going Lew...I have a bunch of thing I really should get listed and just never find the time. You've inspired me! This weekend I'm making it happen!! (Well, after bass fishing saturday
  7. I'm just disappointed Chris Farley isn't here for this.
  8. Without delving into the he said, she said, rhetoric that has gone on by Ford as well as on this forum, I wonder...since when does wrong become right in certain circumstances? I mean, if Rob Ford was say, your grade 5 daughters teacher, would he get the same support? Or, your wife's doctor? A taxi driver? a crossing guard? I'm not so sure that "if you're doing a good job, do what you want" has any credibility. If we did a poll on this forum of who felt they were a good performer at their job I'm sure there would be a majority show of hands. If I asked who would get away with Ford's behavior I am relatively positive the number would be close to nil. So why the double standard? In my eyes the argument regarding his ability to govern is semantics. And publicly defending illegal activity and immoral judgement is simply condoning it. Separate the job from the crime and decide if it's still not a crime.
  9. That's a broad statement to say the least. Go buy brand new and all your worries will disappear...haha
  10. And this is why I switched to traditional archery and have hunted with a recurve or longbow for the last 25 years. No morons in the bush, super hard to draw a bow and shoot yourself(LOL), and because my kill range is a comfortable 15 yards, not much chance of driving around with a deer strapped to my car! haha But that's ok, not much chance of ME being strapped to a stretcher either!
  11. I've bought travel packages for both Rogers and Telus. I find it dead easy. They have set packages for varying costs depending on your needs. You just pick the one that suits your usage by # of minutes, # of texts and data amount(# of MB). I travel to the US on business and always take my personal cell as well.
  12. A 16 foot aluminum is a good boat for Georgian Bay for a couple reasons. Even though it can blow up big time, if you are smart enough to watch the weather forecasts, you're never too far from a shoreline. There's a million places to tuck into and get out of the wind. I fished it for ten years with a 14 foot boat. Even days that had 5 footers in the gap you could launch in Severn, Honey Harbour, etc. and fish back bays. The other reason is mobility...the shallower draft can get you into some awesome spots you just can't fish in a bigger boat and I remember a few great ones. Not as many places to "hide" on the western end of Ontario or Erie.
  13. Other than the Florida comment, I don't really agree with this as it's not that cut and dried. You have to be smart regardless of where you buy. I see far too many people in the "winter" areas that do not properly winterize their boats. I 'm referring to the motor, lower end, fuel tanks, bilge area, livewells, etc. I'll take a boat out of Kentucky with 100 hours on the motor(easily confirmed) over the same boat here that got a tarp thrown over it until spring. Especially at thousands less money. Also, the guys in the northern states aren't dummies. They buy up deals out of the south and trailer them up to Michigan, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania and sell them there. They know Canadians would rather not drive to Alabama and a without border crossing, its a cheap flip for them. Regardless of where you buy, you have to do your homework.
  14. The one trick pony strikes again.
  15. Oh I want that. Dang Gen2 only!
  16. HAHAHA Now I know what my problem is too!!! That' was too funny!
  17. Thanks for the heads up Brian. I'll pass the info along to my brother who I'm sure will stop by.
  18. My condolences to you and your family Brian. Truly heartbreaking news. God Bless. Dave
  19. Hey Moxie, Good on you for making an effort on behalf of all of us. Thanks!! If it was one sentence long it would be better than anything most of us have done. Chotchkies...you actually openly criticized a genuine effort of a fellow sportsman who was trying to help protect YOUR rights? Write a better letter or shut to hell up. Telling us all how it should have been done is vague and pointless.
  20. Awesome! Haha that is perfect.
  21. Everyone's a comedian moderator.
  22. Just like everything else you need to know your prices before buying but I can tell you, there are a lot of items where you can save significant amounts of money. I order lots of things and have them shipped to a US postal box and without doubt save money. The trip down(30-40mins for me) is paid for when I fill my truck, buy a 30 pack of Molson for $18, and a few groceries like a couple gallons of milk for $2 each. THEN I pick up the stuff I ordered at 30-50% cheaper than in Canada. I bring back $50-$250 regularly and had to go in and pay the taxes only once.
  23. I agree. And those who have multiple interests such as yourself usually offer up constructive criticisms and opinions. Key word there is constructive and I don't think anyone takes issue with that...I know I don't.
  24. I find it surprising how many Leafs haters actually watch and follow the Leafs. I have no idea how the Habs or the Sens do game to game unless they're actually playing the Leafs. I'll check standings sure, but watch the game and know individual plays and stats so I can make negative comments to garner attention? I'd be second guessing my own psyche at some point.
