  1. Sometimes I kinda wish that this board had an "ignore" feature. OP - chunk up those pike, soak'em overnight in some hot sauce, wrap them in bacon and grill them. Thanks for the report! HH
  2. Could be the mask! HH
  3. Or an environment that doesn't make the customer feel like they are being hounded, to ensure that they don't steal anything! HH
  4. Be glad you are not living in New York as they have/had a soft drink tax with an eye to getting people to make "better" decisions. At the end of the day, these decisions can almost always be related to taxation... they just tell us it's for our own good. HH
  5. Dan, Quinte has a lot of current and that's why the folks have been telling you to wait. There are a number of places that have huge current and therefore, difficulty freezing solid. The boys will take care of you! HH
  6. That's probably the biggest Pickereye I have seen caught there in years! She sure brings back some memories! Congrats and thanks for sharing! HH
  7. Well, when they fire up the gas generators to meet peak power needs, like a cold snap or a heat wave, I'm pretty sure that we will see that added to our bill. Raf, there isn't much opposition to the carbon tax because I believe that most folks don't even know it is coming! They're gonna find out quick when industry starts to leave the province more often then they already have... and let's not forget that the feds are doing the same thing!
  8. I can always tell it's cold outside when I go outside and it's cold. HH
  9. No Xmas lights here! Can't justify the cost of running them against my already exorbitant bill! HH
  10. I hope you folks haven't forgotten about the carbon tax that takes effect on Jan 1! Expect your hydro rates to climb just based on that... not to mention the rise in costs at the pumps. I recall a phone call I made to my MPP when the carbon tax was announced. I was told that we the consumers would not even notice the tax, it would be absorbed by the corporations... surprise surprise! HH
  11. Google says Trent University has a dental school.... HH
  12. After reading some of the responses in this thread, it's pretty obvious who watched the entire video posted and who quit early on. You do know that the speaker was a former big wig at Cisco Systems right? HH
  13. For discussion purposes only, yes and no Dave. Much of what has traditionally held us back from innovation, has been a lack of desire to do so, by those who have held an interest in keeping things the way they are, specifically corporations. As we are now a global economy, those corporations don't have the monopolies that they historically had. That's why companies such as those in the automotive industry, have only recently, begun to invest in new technologies... to say nothing of the oil industry and they're influence around the world. GM has recently announced a centre for innovation to be built in Markham and I would be that they are not doing anything related to the internal combustion engine! HH
  14. Or run that quad on a couple of flash light batteries! LOL HH
  15. I'm beginning to think that the Jays front office is looking to change the team, more than keep what they have had. Objectively looking at the last two seasons, the Jays were essentially the same team. That team has proven twice, that they are just not good enough to win it all, close, but not quite there. So, management have decided that they have had their shot, their collective soft underbelly exposed and the realization has been made that this group just aren't able to move to the next level. I don't except them to sign either Jose or Edwing. I expect them to address the issues that have presented themselves, namely, more consistent hitting and left handed hitters. I am willing to let them do their thing, before I pass judgement on their decisions. HH
  16. Those are good questions Dan, some that I thought of as well. What my take on the talk is, is that we are in such a fast moving/paced time, with technology these days, that there are potentially limitless options available to us today and obviously in the future. Sure, most of what he talks about is conjecture but based on scientific fact. It's a good time to be alive! HH
  17. I don't know enough at this point as to whether this is a good thing or bad thing, but I do know that it will completely change our lives and the ways we go about them. HH
  18. A friend recently sent me this link. I found it fascinating and pretty eye opening. It's a little long, but there's a lot of information here and perhaps even some crystal ball moments. We are in for a massive amount of change in our lives if this is really true. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxryv2XrnqM HH
  19. This! HH
  20. That a beauty! Nice job and thanks for showing us! HH
  21. Just a heads up re St. Lucia. The freshwater systems on the island have a parasite that finds certain parts of the human male anatomy to be a great host. It will "swim" up and make itself at home. Extremely painful and difficult to "remove". Best advice is to stay away from fresh water and stick to the salt water. HH
  22. Steve, is there a belt in there that is turning the gears inside the unit? i had that problem with my old unit. Was able to pick up a new belt at Princess Auto for three or four bucks. HH
  23. What Dan and Lew said is the likely culprit, given the unit is not that old. HH
  24. At the rate things are going, "star players" will be given a different coloured helmet differentiating them from others, indicating that thou shall not hit. HH
