All good choices above. To me, water temperature is most important for spring pike. Look for temp differences between bays and main lake/channel areas. Run smallish cranks right along the edge of the temp gradients and if the bottom allows, dredge it up with your bait. If trolling these areas, keep your speed at just enough to get your lure to dive and stay near or at the bottom. Lure suggestion; small hot n tots in Jimi Hendrix HH

I've been "prettier" longer than the other guy... HH

Which is why I was questioning your comparison to more experienced players.... he has potential, no doubt about that. All I was doing was pointing out what I think he needs to do to reach his real potential. HH
-
Most of the players you mention have been through the grind and have playoff experience. They have learned what it takes to be successful individually as well as part of team. I'm not suggesting that the Leafs trade him, I am however suggesting that he needs to be tougher in order to continue to progress as a player. I don't think I said trade him anywhere?! Comparing Nylander to Kane is a huge stretch... and take a breathe man, no one wants you to hurt yourself! LOL HH
-
I won't rise to your bait as it seems pretty obvious how easy that would be.... Comparing Nylander to either of those players is a bit of a stretch! LOL To be clearer, my concern with Nylander is that when things start getting tighter, as the season progresses, he's going to find less room and time and he is going to slowly disappear. He needs to get stronger/bigger and he needs to develop are tougher approach to playing or he is going to get crushed, should the Leafs ever make the playoffs. HH
-
My only gripe re Nylander is that he is soft and I don't see him getting "harder" with time. Think Hammerstrom, but with better hands and shot. HH

It was only manufactured for a few years in the mid 90's, it was Marshall's answer to the Ampeg CL/VR and their last foray into the big power tube market for bass amps. They are rarer then hen's teeth as they did not sell well when introduced. The asking price at the time could have had something to do with it... $3k+ US! I picked it up from Craig's List a few years ago, for a much better price than it originally sold for... as for being highly sought after, i know I could sell it quickly, should I decide I am too old to move it around anymore. Metal band bass players would likely jump all over it. 250 watts at 4 ohms 400 watts at 2 ohms- to get to 2ohms, one would likely have to run two, four ohm cabs... that is likely to produce 125-135 db... equal to the volume of a 747 taking off! I've seen a few bar owners go white when they see me dragging that thing into their bars! I just tell them it has a volume knob. HH

I rent it out to clinics on weekends I am not using it. Seems to do a pretty good job of sonic ally crushing patients kidney stones! It's actually one of the loudest/powerful bass tube amps made... HH

8 6550 power tubes 4 four preamp tubes 90lbs of chest slammin joy! HH
-
Nah, I still have the Samsung Galaxy or what ever the heck it is... haven't turned it on since October! I'm just a fan of anything that say Marshall on it... especially if it is full of tubes! HH
-
Drifter, that Marshall phone is the shiz! anything with Marshall on it is cool in my book! HH

John Wetton, singer and bass player for such bands as King Crimson and Asia passed away yesterday at 67. His silky voice will definitely be missed. Way too many folks passing away lately... HH

Thanks for the morning chuckle! HH

What a great fish!!!! You could easily tell that buddy was pumped!!!! I can't say on this board what I would do if I had that monster on my line... HH

So sad to read this, both way too young for this to happen and I know that accidents don't care about age. Wondering if Ventura is the same guy that Zaun was talking about bad mouthing and hiding on the bus a couple of years ago? Either way, sad for sure. HH

The other day I made meatloaf. Yah, meatloaf doesn't sound too sexy, so I bumped it up a bit; -1 LB med ground beef -1LB ground pork -1LB ground sausage -1 finely diced opnion Mix the meat and onion just enough to combine them, don't overwork ground meats as they will go rubbery if you do. Add an egg to help bind, 1/2 a cup of ketchup, half a large can of tomato sauce, a dash of "What's this here sauce" 1/2 cup of good bread crumbs, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Again, gently combine. Three hard boiled eggs get put into the middle of the loaf, once roughed out. As I had some Gorgonzola and Brie laying around, I crushed the Gorganzola into the meat mix and put the pieces of Brie, length wise in the loaf. Pour the remainder of the tomato sauce over the loaf and put 1/2 pound of bacon, braided over the top. Bake in the oven to 1 1/2 hours at 375F, covered. REmove the cover for the last half an hour. When you cut into the completed loaf, each slice will have melted Brie and a slice of hard boiled egg. Serve over noodles with Brussels sprouts, green beans etc. HH

You asked... LOL Unions became expendable after they were a key player in establishing workers rights and the accompanying legislation. Historically, before unions, workers had very limited rights entrenched in legislation. Unions brought those issues to the fore front and eventually into legislation. Since we now have workers rights entrenched, the usefulness of unions has passed. IMHO - unions do nothing but protect the weak and unwilling. They also spend an inordinate amount of resources justifying their own existence. HH -
I thought that the MNR could confiscate anything that was used in the commission of an offense. if that is indeed the case, why didn't they hit them where it would really hurt and take their vehicle, boat and all equipment used in the offense. I would bet that had this happened in the States, the fine would be levied and the offenders would not be allowed to leave until such time that the fine(s) were paid. HH

I have yet to hear one bit of policy from O'Leary, so I will hold off any judgement, until such time as he gives us an indication of what he's planning on doing. HH
-
A governments job is to create and maintain an environment where business can succeed and therefore provide opportunities to it's constituents. As soon as it starts to single out individuals and special interest groups ahead of it prime mandate, everyone loses. HH
-
Actually what we need and they have found in the States is someone is who the dog and not the tail. For far too long, we have had the tail wagging the dog and that is what has created Trump and will likely help O'Leary as well. HH
