  1. WTG bud! I was wondering how you made out! Congrats and yah, Sam's the man! HH
  2. That fish looks like it could be the lead actor in a new porno designed to entice and invigorate fish! LOL! HH
  3. If I'm gonna keep 'em, I slit their throat and put them on ice. Bleeding them out will help to keep the taste in tact. Everything else goes back, quickly! HH
  4. What's the difference between a Carp and a lawyer? .... One's a scum sucking bottom feeder, and the other's a fish! (With all due respect to any and all those who may be lawyers or have members of their family etc... aw, who am I kindin .... ) Grew up catchin Carp in the mighty Thames in London. Caught my share and probably a few others during that time... most went back in, but some made it home to my mom's roses and boy, do Carp make nice roses. It"s a coarse fish, always has been, always will be... that's why they make 'em look like that!LOL HH
  5. Awesome Wayne and Leah! Great news she's home and will be receiving the extra she needs for a full recovery. All the best to your entire family! 'HH
  6. Lunge through the ice? I don't think you should be targeting them at this time of year! Not a Lunge dude by any means, but I'm pretty certain that they are out of season? Yes/ no! HH
  7. Met up with Wayne and Leah for lunch as they are in town for their daughters surgery. The operation was yesterday and by all accounts it went very well. She may be heading home much sooner than expected! Leah is such a nice person... she's doing her best to get Wayne that way as well!LOL Really glad they caught up with me and hope to meet Leah again, under better circumstances. HH
  8. I believe I heard somewhere that Canadian pricing is higher the the States, simply because Canadians are willing to pay more! If this is correct, then nothing will change until our collective attitudes change... and good luck with that! HH
  9. Ted, my brother from a different mother! You are so right! Actually, about 15 years ago, a MIS Manager described computers to me this way; "They are a black hole for money! The more money you pour in, the more money you need to run them" I'd say that pretty much covers it! HH
  10. If you have the ability to negotiate with your new employer, now is the time. If you need to ask about vacation time, or any other "benefit" that the company offers, it's best done before you have signed on the bottom line. You may at that time, have some leverage with the new employer. Once everything is signed, it can be perceived to be in bad taste to either try and negotiate after the fact or ask questions about the package. They would of course assume that you didn't ask the right questions prior to acceptance, which could force them to wonder on what basis you accepted the offer? First impressions are difficult to over come. HH
  11. Me to G... me to! Ever since we moved to this new location, we are having internet access problems. With virtually all our systems being internet based, it sure does start to get annoying as your trying to get things done! I may make the 2 block walk up to CTC and pick up a 10 pound sledge... may be the only thing that really understands how I really feel! HH
  12. Pretty much demonstrates my feelings with regard to computers and how "well" they work! http://glumbert.com/wii/view.php?name=baddayoffice HH
  13. Ok... my time for thanks! Bernie, I can't thank you enough for allowing me and the boys up to your place this weekend. We may not have caught many fish, but we sure laughed a lot! I think we ate pretty well as well! You've got a little piece of God's country up there, it sure was hard to come back to the cesspool that is the big smoke! Thanks doesn't begin to cover it! Gerritt... for inviting me along on this trip, thanks only scrapes the surface. It was an awesome time, good food, good laughs and good folks! I thanks you and hope you continue to enjoy the "Lemon Drops". Would be a nice way to spend a warm summer day, sitting around my pool, watchin our kids swim and tossin back a couple of lemon drops... my thanks will never truly speak, for my feelings! Cory... thanks for going out Saturday morning, using your "attributes" (read "aura-borea-anus) and taking the frost off the seat on the "pooper"! -27 degrees can sure make a man think long and hard, before making the trip! LOL For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Bernie... go out of your way to do it! You won't regret it! HH
  14. Well, after the schooling that Bernie gave me on the weekend, I definately have way too much stuff! Old school ruled the day and you can't get any simpler, than a carved piece of wood, some really old mono and the willingness to endure the cold, for the ever elusive hit! HH
  15. "Benny"!
  16. PM sent! HH
  17. Thanks everyone for all your advice... not much longer now!LOL HH
  18. That was one very hungry fish right there! Wow, sweet report and well done! HH
  19. Yes John, I did forget the anchovies! I love'm, the wife hates them... so I usually forget 'em! I also tear the lettuce, but I figured cutting them would make them easier to fit into the glass! LOL! HH
  20. Thanks Lew! Safety first is always my motto! By the sounds of it, not only will I be fortunate enough to be enjoying the company of some really great folks, I just may catch a fish! And, based on the menu we have planned, I'll be eatin good as well! And that's not even taking into account a fish fry, if we're lucky! HH
  21. Well, Friday morning I'm fortunate enough to be heading up to Bernie's with Gerritt and Corey for a fun filled 4 days on Nip. I don't have any experience fishin Nip and would like some suggestions on what I should be bringing as far as tackle is concerned. I've re-rigged four rods with fresh mono and am eager to present the right bait. What would you suggest I have available to me? Ie jigs etc... Thanks, HH
  22. I have subscribed to the Walleye Insider for a number of years... it's perfect reading for me in the "library"! My wife bought me a subscription to Real Fishning magazine for Xmas, but I must say that it is very much oriented towards Bob's sponsors, read tackle and everything else Bob promotes. I prefer Walleye insider, although, it to is oriented towards all things Berkely! Best part, I can read an entire article in one "sitting"! HH
  23. You can rim the bowl with chicken wings! Shrimp aren't bad with it either! Bernie, not to worry... it's a recipe I use to entertain the women... not nearly enough meat in it for my liking! I have pills for heart burn!LOL HH
  24. Ok, here goes; (for four people) -use the largest bowl you have -salt (kosher) about a 1/4 teaspoon -4 cloves of fresh garlic, using a fork, crush the garlic into the salt -separate the yolks of three fresh eggs and add yolks to garlic -1/4 cup of good olive oil -1 teaspoon of vinegar -juice of half a fresh lemon -fresh ground pepper -1/4 teaspoon of dry mustard mix these ingredients thoroughly, they will form a loose paste Now, add your cut Romain lettuce, add grated parmesan (sp) cheese, bacon bits and croutons and mix it thoroughly Should serve 4 people! HH
  25. Good luck with that Rick... I hope you do recover something from them, but I wouldn't expect any monies in the very near future! Like most of these types of things, the only folks gettin rich will be the lawyers... no offence to our friendly resident law folks! HH
