  1. Lookin good Berine! Ah heck, it looked good a couple of weekends ago in person! HH
  2. Hey Bernie, Your gonna find that the tunes are very much different than what you and I grew up listening to, that's for sure. These guys can without a doubt, play their instruments! They are world class players, that's for sure. I found that I needed to listen to them a few times, before I found the "groove" I liked about them. I hope you enjoy them! HH
  3. We were right behind Chuck as he made his way "over" the pressure crack! Saw the water flying out from under his truck and decided not to continue following him!LOL To bad we didn't connect, we could have picked you up... 14k is one heck of a walk... but the walk back would have been the doozy! HH
  4. It was great seeing all those OFNer's on Sunday! And man, could we have asked for a better day! Was lucky enough to have gotten out with FishnSled and his buddy Ken. Funny, we really didn't know where we were heading, but with Terry's help (thanks Bud!) we virtually drove right up to Chuck's truck and dropped lines. There was Big Cliff and Beans and the rest of the crew. FishnSled is gonna write up our report and pics... thanks again Will for the freakin fantastic day! HH
  5. I'd return it to BPS and get my money back! Or, I'd take it to BPS and get them to price match it, then take it back to LB's and get them to price match it and so on, until I had accumulated enough funds to retire! Seriously, I'd take it back. HH
  6. I thought he looked like "Brian" from Monty Python's "Life of Brian". I post a pic if I had enough brain cells functioning to be able to grasp the concept! HH
  7. No Bitsmith2k, they are not yelling at you! They do it because legally, they cannot make you pay taxes if they correspond with you using your correct name, ie spelling it out using capitals only at the beginning of each of your names. This is not the place to discuss the legalities, you can find all you want and more all over the internet. Here's a question for you... when did we, the general population of Canada, sign up for income tax? I don't recall every saying, yah, sign me up! Did I inadvertently sign up when I applied for a SIN? CRA will tell you, you are "contractually obligated" to pay taxes, yet, in order to legally have a signed contract, both parties must sign and agree to the terms... I don't remember ever doing that! That's one of the reasons all correspondence with CRA is in the format used! HH
  8. Here's an added twist to this... have you ever noticed that any and all correspondence you receive from CRA, your name is written in capital letters? I don't know about everyone else, but I don't sign my name in caps! Ever wonder why they use capitals? There are any number of tax revolter's out there... individuals and groups... for those interested in learning more about how we are illegally being taxed to death! HH
  9. Home remedy; 1. take a cup of red wine, add three tablespoons of sugar and bring to a boil, allowing the sugar to dissolve in the wine. Drink it while it's hot! 2. One packet of Neocitran, 4 oz. of Jack Daniels and mix the two together. It may not cure your cold, but you probably won't care very much anyway!LOL HH
  10. COLD FX - It has saved my behind more than once... 2006 Quinte GTG, for example. Woke up the day before the event with the beginnings of a nasty cold/flu. The stuff kept me on my feet, fishin and perhaps a little beverage time as well! Follow the instructions on the bottle and it should work. I've recommended the stuff to quite a few people and 50% said it helped them a lot and 50% said it did nothing. I'm fortunate enough to fall into the 50% that it works for! Hey Don Cherry can't be wrong all the time! HH
  11. Those are pretty interesting observations. I was under the belief that food supplies for fish were much more of a determining factor in a species ability to grow in size and numbers. Hmmm... this just seem to be getting more and more complicated!LOL HH
  12. According to Doug Stange in my just received yesterday Walleye Insider, we should not be using minnows for Walleye at all! He claims that due to advances in plastics and changes in the way pro's fish walleye, they aren't needed. He goes on to say that most Walleye fisherman fish too slow and are missing out on the aggressive bite, by finessing live bait at in-active fish. Also, he argues that live bait increases mortality among walleye's as the are typically deep hooked using live bait. Personally, the first time in the last ten years that I've put on a minnow fishin for eyes was a couple of weekends past, ice fishin at Bernie's. Old school I guess! HH
  13. It really just "Depends" on what crowd your playing to Cliff!LOL! HH
  14. Rapala Canada.... 905 571-3001. HH
  15. That's great news! I wonder what he caught! Some guys will do anything to keep other people out of their spot!LOL HH
  16. WTG bud! I was wondering how you made out! Congrats and yah, Sam's the man! HH
  17. That fish looks like it could be the lead actor in a new porno designed to entice and invigorate fish! LOL! HH
  18. If I'm gonna keep 'em, I slit their throat and put them on ice. Bleeding them out will help to keep the taste in tact. Everything else goes back, quickly! HH
  19. What's the difference between a Carp and a lawyer? .... One's a scum sucking bottom feeder, and the other's a fish! (With all due respect to any and all those who may be lawyers or have members of their family etc... aw, who am I kindin .... ) Grew up catchin Carp in the mighty Thames in London. Caught my share and probably a few others during that time... most went back in, but some made it home to my mom's roses and boy, do Carp make nice roses. It"s a coarse fish, always has been, always will be... that's why they make 'em look like that!LOL HH
  20. Awesome Wayne and Leah! Great news she's home and will be receiving the extra she needs for a full recovery. All the best to your entire family! 'HH
  21. Lunge through the ice? I don't think you should be targeting them at this time of year! Not a Lunge dude by any means, but I'm pretty certain that they are out of season? Yes/ no! HH
  22. Met up with Wayne and Leah for lunch as they are in town for their daughters surgery. The operation was yesterday and by all accounts it went very well. She may be heading home much sooner than expected! Leah is such a nice person... she's doing her best to get Wayne that way as well!LOL Really glad they caught up with me and hope to meet Leah again, under better circumstances. HH
  23. I believe I heard somewhere that Canadian pricing is higher the the States, simply because Canadians are willing to pay more! If this is correct, then nothing will change until our collective attitudes change... and good luck with that! HH
  24. Ted, my brother from a different mother! You are so right! Actually, about 15 years ago, a MIS Manager described computers to me this way; "They are a black hole for money! The more money you pour in, the more money you need to run them" I'd say that pretty much covers it! HH
  25. If you have the ability to negotiate with your new employer, now is the time. If you need to ask about vacation time, or any other "benefit" that the company offers, it's best done before you have signed on the bottom line. You may at that time, have some leverage with the new employer. Once everything is signed, it can be perceived to be in bad taste to either try and negotiate after the fact or ask questions about the package. They would of course assume that you didn't ask the right questions prior to acceptance, which could force them to wonder on what basis you accepted the offer? First impressions are difficult to over come. HH
