  1. Me to G... me to! Ever since we moved to this new location, we are having internet access problems. With virtually all our systems being internet based, it sure does start to get annoying as your trying to get things done! I may make the 2 block walk up to CTC and pick up a 10 pound sledge... may be the only thing that really understands how I really feel! HH
  2. Pretty much demonstrates my feelings with regard to computers and how "well" they work! http://glumbert.com/wii/view.php?name=baddayoffice HH
  3. Ok... my time for thanks! Bernie, I can't thank you enough for allowing me and the boys up to your place this weekend. We may not have caught many fish, but we sure laughed a lot! I think we ate pretty well as well! You've got a little piece of God's country up there, it sure was hard to come back to the cesspool that is the big smoke! Thanks doesn't begin to cover it! Gerritt... for inviting me along on this trip, thanks only scrapes the surface. It was an awesome time, good food, good laughs and good folks! I thanks you and hope you continue to enjoy the "Lemon Drops". Would be a nice way to spend a warm summer day, sitting around my pool, watchin our kids swim and tossin back a couple of lemon drops... my thanks will never truly speak, for my feelings! Cory... thanks for going out Saturday morning, using your "attributes" (read "aura-borea-anus) and taking the frost off the seat on the "pooper"! -27 degrees can sure make a man think long and hard, before making the trip! LOL For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Bernie... go out of your way to do it! You won't regret it! HH
  4. Well, after the schooling that Bernie gave me on the weekend, I definately have way too much stuff! Old school ruled the day and you can't get any simpler, than a carved piece of wood, some really old mono and the willingness to endure the cold, for the ever elusive hit! HH
  5. "Benny"!
  6. PM sent! HH
  7. Thanks everyone for all your advice... not much longer now!LOL HH
  8. That was one very hungry fish right there! Wow, sweet report and well done! HH
  9. Yes John, I did forget the anchovies! I love'm, the wife hates them... so I usually forget 'em! I also tear the lettuce, but I figured cutting them would make them easier to fit into the glass! LOL! HH
  10. Thanks Lew! Safety first is always my motto! By the sounds of it, not only will I be fortunate enough to be enjoying the company of some really great folks, I just may catch a fish! And, based on the menu we have planned, I'll be eatin good as well! And that's not even taking into account a fish fry, if we're lucky! HH
  11. Well, Friday morning I'm fortunate enough to be heading up to Bernie's with Gerritt and Corey for a fun filled 4 days on Nip. I don't have any experience fishin Nip and would like some suggestions on what I should be bringing as far as tackle is concerned. I've re-rigged four rods with fresh mono and am eager to present the right bait. What would you suggest I have available to me? Ie jigs etc... Thanks, HH
  12. I have subscribed to the Walleye Insider for a number of years... it's perfect reading for me in the "library"! My wife bought me a subscription to Real Fishning magazine for Xmas, but I must say that it is very much oriented towards Bob's sponsors, read tackle and everything else Bob promotes. I prefer Walleye insider, although, it to is oriented towards all things Berkely! Best part, I can read an entire article in one "sitting"! HH
  13. You can rim the bowl with chicken wings! Shrimp aren't bad with it either! Bernie, not to worry... it's a recipe I use to entertain the women... not nearly enough meat in it for my liking! I have pills for heart burn!LOL HH
  14. Ok, here goes; (for four people) -use the largest bowl you have -salt (kosher) about a 1/4 teaspoon -4 cloves of fresh garlic, using a fork, crush the garlic into the salt -separate the yolks of three fresh eggs and add yolks to garlic -1/4 cup of good olive oil -1 teaspoon of vinegar -juice of half a fresh lemon -fresh ground pepper -1/4 teaspoon of dry mustard mix these ingredients thoroughly, they will form a loose paste Now, add your cut Romain lettuce, add grated parmesan (sp) cheese, bacon bits and croutons and mix it thoroughly Should serve 4 people! HH
  15. Good luck with that Rick... I hope you do recover something from them, but I wouldn't expect any monies in the very near future! Like most of these types of things, the only folks gettin rich will be the lawyers... no offence to our friendly resident law folks! HH
  16. I gotta agree with Terry, Garry2rs and a few others. I have a good buddy who fished the PWT for about 5 years, as both an amateur and a Pro. Four days of pre-fishin some of the nastiest conditions ( read Lake Erie with a 40 MPH west wind...) then, three days of fishin in THUNDERSTORMS, fighting 9 footers.. well I know my feeble body would have tossed in the towel pretty early on in that debacle! Then, as mentioned, pack 'er all up, drive to Wisconsin and start it all over again! It does a real job on body and machine! I've got a real measure of respect for folks who choose to make a living this way... so I say Sport! HH
  17. I have a friend who has had a long standing theory as to what is a sport and what is not. His definition is a follows; "it's only a sport if you can drink beer out of the trophy"! So, based on this theory, the Stanley Cup and the Grey Cup are representative of the only two "real" sports out there!LOL HH
  18. I think hunting "cougars" is a sport! HH
  19. Can't agree with you more Wayne! My normal commute home is about 45 minutes, door to door! Yesterday, I left the office at 4:30 and arrived home at 7:05! At one time, we actually managed to get up to 40k! If you are not confident driving in this stuff, STAY HOME! HH
  20. Sure puts a lot of things in perspective, now doesn't it? Thanks for posting that... some real food for thought. HH
  21. As some may know, I recently (June 07) sold and bought a new to me house. My old house was built in 1932 and still have most of it's original wiring, knob and tube, on the 2nd floor. I knew it, my real estate agent knew it and we handled it this way; - my agent paid for my house inspection, (on the house I was selling) using an inspector that is also tied to an insurance company. He obviously caught that fact that at least 5 circuits were knob and tube. He than told me and my agent that if I replaced all the two wire recepticles with ground fault recepticles, he would pass the house and in turn, GUARANTEE insurance on the house. -so, when the house hit the market, there was a completed and passed home inspection sitting on the dinning room table for potential buyers to see. - I did not get a house inspection on the new house... past experience told me to save my $400! IT's simply a waste of money! It is not required by the banks/lenders any more. Your lender only wants a guarantee on TITLE SEARCH these days. With so many folks having their homes sold out from underneath them, the banks only care for the Title search. -I have some buddies in the building business look at my new house... I'm sure that most of us have someone in the know in the construction industry that could help them out. No fancey bound report, but with my $400.00 still in my pocket, I'll make notes!LOL Rick, I don't think that you have any real recourse with your previous inspector... the industry is based on peoples insecurities and there really are no ramifications to their ineptitude! Regarding your panel, I agree with Taper, not your problem... if it passed inspection when installed, it's fine. If prospective buyers are turning away based on that, then your agent should be asking them why they are considering buying a 100 year old house? If they want modern, tell them to go buy a brand new house! I hope things work out for yah... I'd be talking to my agent and finding out what they are going to be willing to do, to help you sell the house and in turn, make them a big fat commission.! My agent went beyond the call of duty, in order to get my business. They included: -replacing old dated light fixtures and installing them on her dime -painting my veranda - her dime -staging my house with her furniture - her dime -paid for the home inspection - her dime -lined up insurance for the prospective buyers I could go on, but ... your agent is the key to your success... I wish you the best of luck! HH PS... just a note about knob and tube... it has been functioning in my old house for 75 years! Flawlessly, I might add... personally, I think the whole knob and tube "scare" is simply yet another revenue generating vehicle for the insecure. Heck, if it was gonna blow up, wouldn't it have done so some time within the last 75 years!LOL Rick, see if you can get someone to insure it as it stands, before you start dropping thousands into it!
  22. That was a great video, thanks for posting! I agree, the smile on the little one made my day! HH
  23. NOt to be-little the importance of this message, but when was the last time you saw a car that did not have running lights on, all the time? I received this message yesterday and am wondering if this is fact real? If it is, then it's yet another example of our society slowly falling to it's knees! HH
  24. Thanks for posting this Mo, it really is very heartening to know that so much good has come from this event. And to get the information from the French's, well it kinda warms the heart! Thanks again and hoping to make it to the event again! HH
  25. No need for all this trade talk... the Leafs are gonna make the playoffs! I believe that the meds, have kicked in! I'd be a lot upset at their season so far, if I wasn't so heavily medicated! HH
