I think I'm addicted to poles! HH

Holdfast... Suzuki eating your shorts may cause flatulatory issues and as such, add to global warming! I'd suggest he just walks around wearing them on his head instead! HH

Millartime... it seems to me that a large number of your show's viewers have opinions about your show, and have expressed them here... admittedly, some more eloquently than others, but what I find most disconcerting regarding your post is this; Here you have a captive audience and instead of using the criticism to perhaps "improve" your show, you have taken exactly the opposite tact. I wish I had a place like this for my clients to discuss what they do and don't like about my service. I'd be sure to keep an eye on it and introduce effective measures to help keep my business number one! To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed in your response. HH

Headhunter replied to jdmls's topic in General Discussion
Ok... here's what I was "taught" just recently by FishnSled with regard to Whities... if you see them under your bait, jig higher and don't stop! Raise your rod up and keep jiggin... it worked for him and eventually for me as well. HH -
I don't possess the "sphere's" to even consider that! Gotta be nuts! HH

I'll trade you a free coffee and a free doughnut for the GPS! LOL Congrats... now Paul will know where YOU"RE catchin the fish! HH

With the price of gas continuing to rise, with rumours of gas hitting $1.40 /ltr by the summer, what if any effect with this have on your fishin plans for the summer? We've had this question before, but given that it is a slow time of year and I never really was a Chuck Norris fan, I thought I'd pose this question! HH

Andy for Prime Minister! Don Cherry could be his right hand guy! HH

That makes sense Fisher... you'll probably be in better shape out there, not worrying about various things... but I bet you after the first time out with a guide, you'll be self guiding in no time. HH

Thames River in the London area questions
Headhunter replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Hey Splashopper...plain English would dictate that you should go carp fishing after March 15th!LOL ... Carp are overly abundant in the Thames and can be a ton o fun, on light equipment, between open seasons for game fish. The breakwall in Greenway Park, as well as the train bridge in the same park can hold monster Carp and suckers... on a nice sunny day, a ton o fun! HH -
The Temagami Report for March 6th to 9th

Good report and Pics Wayne! Too bad about the fishing, but at least you were out and about rather than sitting at home watchin it snow! Maybe next time! HH -
A Florida senior citizen drove his brand new BMW convertible out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he pushed it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through his sparse hair. Amazing, he thought as he flew down I-75, pushing the pedal even more. But, looking in his rear view mirror, he saw the State Trooper behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, 'What am I doing? I'm too old for this,' and pulled over to await the Trooper's arrival. Pulling in behind him, the Trooper walked up to the BMW, looked at his watch and said, 'Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go. The old gentleman paused. Then said, 'Three years ago, my wife ran off with a Florida State Trooper. I thought you were bringing her back.' Have a good day, Sir,' replied the trooper. HH

That's all good, unless the sign around his neck makes his ass look big! HA ha! Thanks for the laugh! HH

Thames River in the London area questions
Headhunter replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
If you are giving Delaware/Killworth a try, look for back eddy's/current breaks that the fish will use to get out of the current. You really have to annoy them to get them to bite, once they are up the river/pre-spawn. Once they've spawned, they are more open to eating, but still few and far between. Hair jigs are very popular, as well as Raps. Just be aware that in many of the "common" places people fish, many jerks have thrown beds/bikes, whatever, to grab your lures for future re-sale! HH -
Don't take this the wrong way, and it is meant with all due humour, but... HUTS ARE FOR GIRLS! With the warm weather, comparatively speaking, we are having this week and potentially next week, huts are a pain! They limit your mobility and become a "crutch" when out there! Stay open and mobile and if you need a guide to find the Whities/Trout, just follow the caravan of vehicles heading out onto the lake! HH

Thames River in the London area questions
Headhunter replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Opportunities on the Thames are pretty limited at this time of year. With the Springbank Dam under construction, the "typical" waters to fish have changed. You'll find many anglers who fish the Delaware area, as well as the Killworth Bridge. Native netting has put a real hurt on the Pickeral numbers. Coarse fish may be your only option until Bass season opens, then "walking the river" is as good as any options to find action. Look for deeper than most pools in the river and good luck! HH -
Congrats Mo! Not the "ideal" job/situation, but far superior to what you were doing and I hope that it helps you cope with the long commute! Best of luck! HH

Can't argue with older reels lasting forever! I still run a Mitchell 300 that is at least 40 years old, my light rod reel is a Mitchell 309 I bought when I was 13 years old, and I bought it used! Keep a few bail springs handy and your golden! I have a Penn reel that's pushin 20 years, still looks and acts brand new and my main reels now are Quantum. Never had a Quantum let me down! I've let them down by braking the handle off, but not the reels fault! As Raf mentioned, I still have a couple of Diawa's kicking around as well. The Silver series if I recall. Gears were crap, but the silly things still work! Regular maintenance is key, but also, keeping them clean will help them last. HH

It was a great day out there! Catching my first ever Whitie, my first time trying was just awesome... I think I did the happy fisherman dance for about an hour after I caught it! Thanks to FishnSled for the tutorial and now that I have a clue as to what to use and how to use it, I'm gonna be dangerous out there! We got our limit in less then three hours after we left the large group/OFC gtg. FnS didn't mention our trip back to shore so I'll add a little colour to his post. On our way in, we spotted a car with two guys obviously stuck, so we pulled over to see if we could help. Just a word to the wise who are considering taking their sub compact car out onto the ice... Pontiac Vibes are not designed for snow drifts! The may be a little tank on the roads, but they are just too close to the ground to clear any accumulation of snow! We managed to get them out after about 15 minutes of trying and they then decided to follow us back to shore, a wise move on their part! Thanks again Will for the fantastic day. Ken was a blast to fish with and I really look forward to doing it again! I caughjt a White FIsh, I caught a White Fish! HH
