Thanks for the kind words everyone! I get way more back from the people here then I'll ever be able to pay back! Misfish, that's Terry doing some "wormin" at the front of the boat! Didn't help with the fishin though! Gerritt, let's do some ice fishin before we get up to Killarney! Hometownhandy man, best of luck in your interview, I hope the job is what you are seeking. A word to the "lurkers" out there. This group will amaze you, if you put yourself out there! If your sitting on the fence trying to decide whether or not to join up, you be paid back in spades for any and all actions you take to help out fellow board members... some food for thought! HH

i refuse to even look at anything made by Sony, much less purchase it! Sony outsourced the manufacturing and assembly of their products to the lowest bidder early this decade. They are now no better than any of the other southeast Asia sweat shops manufacturing equipment for the world market. Have you ever tried to get Sony to service their broken down pieces of junk? Good luck! Now, not to hijack this thread, but Clampet, you need to open your ears and listen to some audio equipment make by an audio specific company, you will be amazed at what you've been missing in your music all this time. It's like the difference between buying a Canadian Tire special rod and reel combo and buying a high end rod and reel! HH

Toshiba announced today that they will begin selling a 500gig external drive that would do a nice job of backing up most peoples systems! Rick, is your HD still under warranty? If your not aware, it could be something worth checking out... save a few bucks. HH

It's been my experience on Simcoe that minnows only slow you down! If the perch are under your ice hole (take your shot!) they will bite. You need to get the bait to them quickly as the school travels by and minnows just take too long between fish. A jiggin rap, I like blue and silver, fire tiger as well, with two power grubs hooked onto the bottom treble and your in fine shape. HH

We had a similar experience on Saturday out of Keswick. Started fishin in 15 ft and they were nailing everything we dropped. Action slowed down shallow by 9:00am, we simply moved out to deeper water as the day went on. Ended the day in about 25 to 30 ft. Kept a dozen, probably caught 75 by the time I had to leave at 2:30pm. Jiggin Raps and dropper rigs worked well, very light bites and a tasty meal for my family and the visiting in-laws on Sunday! No minnows were harmed in catching any perch! 6 inches of good ice out of Keswick on Saturday morning, wouldn't bet on that being the case today! HH

I renewed over the phone back in late November and received my new license in the mail on December 28th. Prior to receiving the card, I called the MNR to find out what gives. Was told that they had a problem with the vendor the Ministry hired to manufacture the cards and that I should receive it within a couple of days. Was also told that if you did re-new over the phone and had not received my new license in time, I could go to the internet and print off a receipt, that, in conjunction with my expired card, would be deemed acceptable by the ministry. Hope that helps? HH

I have a ravine lot in Scarborough and have seen deer walking behind my house! Now, in oder to get to my house, they would have to cross Kingston Road and and the 401! I also see fresh bunny tracks every morning all around my house. "I am Legend"?!LOL HH

As we are somewhat between seasons, I thought I'd ask this question during a relatively quiet time on the board. I have noticed over the years that when a storm is approaching Toronto, Environment Canada will issue a "weather warning" to Peel region, Durham region and York region. In most cases, Toronto proper does not get the warning, nor does it get the nasty weather that those regions receive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming the good folks at Environment Canada here, I just don't understand how a storm/system can completely miss Toronto, yet slam all of the areas west, east and north of the city. So, my question for the weather types... what influences the weather that directly hits Toronto, that doesn't affect the surrounding area? Markham can be getting kicked in the teeth, yet Toronto doesn't. Is it the Lake that does this? Thanks for your responses! HH

In my business, it's VERY UNCOMMON to come across an individual who has stayed with the same company for 5 years, much less 20 years! Congrats on a feat seldom seen these days! It's re-assuring to others who have been through the gamit of employers to know that there are still good company's out there who respect and VALUE loyal employees! Congrats Fang and enjoy you tribute! HH

Similar experience yesterday... haven't really seen my new neighbours much since the weather turned cold... got out early to tackle the mess, by hand and shovel... neighbours started coming out, shovels in hand and we, about 10 of us, cleared up all of our other neighbours walkways and driveways. We have a number of older folks around us and it did feel good to give them a hand... the first timeLOL... did have to tackle them again a couple of times, but everyone was clear by the time the snow stopped. It's a great feeling of community that draws folks together at times like these. Pay it forward! HH

That tug and barge passed us last week while we were trolling near the Glenora Ferry, so he's obviously going past Deseronto and up the Reach... lost sight of him as he headed down Adolphus Reach. HH

Yup, for those who don't do it after every outing, tis the time to back off the drag system on all your reels for the winter. And like others, I haven't taken a reel apart in years... no need unless you rolled it in the sand on the beach! HH
