  1. In my business, it's VERY UNCOMMON to come across an individual who has stayed with the same company for 5 years, much less 20 years! Congrats on a feat seldom seen these days! It's re-assuring to others who have been through the gamit of employers to know that there are still good company's out there who respect and VALUE loyal employees! Congrats Fang and enjoy you tribute! HH
  2. I didn't know Dano could catcha fish! Nice pics Wayne! HH
  3. A "noodle" in the hand is worth two in the bush? HH
  4. Similar experience yesterday... haven't really seen my new neighbours much since the weather turned cold... got out early to tackle the mess, by hand and shovel... neighbours started coming out, shovels in hand and we, about 10 of us, cleared up all of our other neighbours walkways and driveways. We have a number of older folks around us and it did feel good to give them a hand... the first timeLOL... did have to tackle them again a couple of times, but everyone was clear by the time the snow stopped. It's a great feeling of community that draws folks together at times like these. Pay it forward! HH
  5. I resemble that remark Bill! HH
  6. I by no means want to spam here, but I just dropped into my local Blacks cameras and they have a huge sale on today.... Nikon D40 w/ lense...$499.00! Canon Rebel XTI - $599.00 Point and shoots 7 meg. for $100.00! Thought I'd let you guys know if you happen to be in the market! Also, 1gig SD cards (Kingston) $9.99! HH
  7. "So you think you can dance?" HH
  8. That tug and barge passed us last week while we were trolling near the Glenora Ferry, so he's obviously going past Deseronto and up the Reach... lost sight of him as he headed down Adolphus Reach. HH
  9. Yup, for those who don't do it after every outing, tis the time to back off the drag system on all your reels for the winter. And like others, I haven't taken a reel apart in years... no need unless you rolled it in the sand on the beach! HH
  10. That's hysterical! Terry's return after the others have popped back into the woods is too funny... Thanks Wayne! HH
  11. Well that kicks the crap out of my Sunday plans to try and hit the Q again... I wonder how the "Warden" would feel about fishin on Xmas Eve! LOL HH
  12. I believe that Ontario law allows you 2 weeks to back out of a contract agreement, made with door to door sales types. Buyer regret should be covered by this law. HH
  13. Sorry for your pain bud... if I can help, let me know! HH
  14. Three squares a day (I understand it's tube steak on Saturdays! yum yum) and a roomy... and something about bubbles! I hope Barby can hold out for Connie, for the next 6-7 years... I bet by the time he gets out, he won't recognize her... face all pulled back and lookin"young" HH
  15. Thanks folks! Great ideas here, appreciate you input... based on what I've read here... I'll go rivets! HH
  16. Thanks guys... yah Wayne, I googled and came up dry. I'd consider a plastic one, if it was family size, but so far, most of what I've come across are designed for individuals, not multiple riders. Thanks again for your efforts... Wayne, wanna cut a wing off one of the planes? HH
  17. I'm trying to source a toboggan for my kids for Xmas... we have a great hill near our house and I'd like to get the family a toboggan. I've been to CTC and they only have wooden ones and frankly, they are extremely flimsy. Ideally, I think I'd like an aluminum one, if they still make them ? Anyone have any recommendations? Appreciate your help! HH
  18. The Australians have just recently elected a left wing government after ten years of right wing domination. The first thing the new Prime Minister did, once taking power was to sign Australia up to Kyoto. I'm really not surprised by this, I expect to see more and more of this type of thinking coming to the forefront on a regular basis. Check out this link re: climate change... http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/global_...74.html?suckers HH PS... I vote for Cookslav!
  19. Terry couldn't have been part of that shot... the fish does not resemble a Sheep head in any way! Bahhhh! HH
  20. Welcome to the board! I am an ex-Londoner... grew up smack in the middle between Greenway Park and Springbank Park. The mighty Thames has it's virtues and is an excellent way to cut our teeth fishin! Nice Thames Walter by the way! I've caught a few of them there in my day... the river should be back to normal next spring, when they complete the Springbank Dam project and get the river back up to normal levels in the spring and summer. Take lots of pics, I enjoy seeing my old stompin grounds! HH
  21. Well, if you think what you've seen is bad, try being a musician, on the road in small town Ontario and take a look at the "accomadations" provided to the band, by the hotel owners. Coat hangers for light switches. Your actually never alone in the room, as the walls move on their own. Your cold in the room, $5.00 for an extra blanket. The worst place I was "fortunate enough" to play was a hotel in Barrie. I can't recall the name, but it was downtown, very old building and absolutely infested with "la kucaracha" (sp) to the point where bands that had played there before us, had written in black magic marker; "go ahead, get in!" on the bath tub. Not in the same class of "room" as we are discussing here, but after that life experience, I'm not surprised by very much anymore! HH
  22. Note to self, don't get called to jury duty in Wayne or Terry's geographic area! HH
  23. Hey Wayne, it worked for my a couple of years ago. At the very beginning of our first day, they asked if anyone would find financial hardship by performing their civic duty, so I went up and explained that I run my own business and in fact, have 4 people working for me and without my direction, they would be lost and in turn, so would my business. They put me on the secondary list, which allowed me to go back to work, unless and until they called me back, which they didn't. HH
  24. My cup runneth over! HH
  25. The boots that "Fisherman" linked up are the best I've ever seen. As I do most of my fishin late in the year in an open boat, I've found that boots rated at -60 or colder are the only things that will keep my feet warm out there. It's funny, but sitting in an open boat makes your feet feel that much colder as when your out on the ice, you are able to move around and get circulation going. Find boots that have a separate layer, usually honeycombed, that sits between the insole on your feet and the bottom of the boot. This will keep any moisture build up away from your feet. Regardless of what boot you buy, remember to remove the insoles after every outing and allow them to dry. As we all know, moisture means cold out there. HH
